WERA Nelson Ledges C Superstock Novice 9/28/24 - Triumph Daytona 675R
Terrible race. I just finished rebuilding the bike the day before. The entire morning practices were washed out due to rain, so my first lap on the bike in over a month since my crash was the warm-up lap before the race. My first lap at speed was the actual race. I still wasn't 100% sure the suspension was ok and that nothing was bent that I hadn't yet noticed, so I wasn't trying to set any records. My start was junk. I started 4th out of 10 in my class and finished 7th. I was sloooow, for sure. I've been in the 1:12s at Nelson before, and my best lap time this day was in the 1:17s. Nothing else happened after the pass at the beginning of lap two. I just wanted to finish the race with the bike in one piece and assess how it was running,

We were behind a couple of slower riders for a while and weren't aggressively trying to pass. Thanks to Jake H. for the rear fender cam.

A little too quick on the throttle out of 13 mixed with tires that were pretty used up equaled the rear stepping out pretty hard.

Combined race including A Superstock Expert & Novice along with C Superstock Novice. It had been raining all morning, and the track still had a few damp areas.

Nothing too exciting, but it was my first real race. I finished 4th in my class and passed a couple of slower riders. I took my first checkered flag though, so I'm happy about that.

The rider at 2:50 forgot to turn and you had an agricultural experience at 3:15! At least you kept it upright and continued! Good job!
Thanks for sharing. Turn 4 bites a lot of people glad you were okay
That dam turn 4
Shit… WTF? The engine noise and ass end slide did not match up. Glad you are ok.
The only thing I can come up with is a front end brake lock blip of some sort or debris
I actually lost the front. I don't know why for sure.
Damn! You were looking good before the low side. Do you know what caused the front end to wash out? To much brake or debris in the track?
I was off the brake. I lost the front. I still don't know exactly why. It might have been too much lean angle too quickly.
@@toolman55yeah its a weird 1. Everything looks to be going sweet. What tyres did were you using. A possible cause could be the tyre got cold on the left hand side. We have a track were I live that has a left hand corner that is notorious for lowsides. You have 4 right handers leading to left-hander. By the time you get to the left-hand corner the left side of the tyre has cooled and off the track you go.
My 2c on t4 at nelsons... enter going a lot slower than you think you should, focus entirely on the exit which opens up.
Great job on your first race! Let's see what you can do at PIRC
Thank you. I did better on Sunday the 23rd. I'm just sticking to the Nelson rounds this year. I plan to be at the September weekend as well.
Looking smooth! Much to be proud of there, congratulations!
Almost didn’t watch this because of the thumbnail. Maybe change it to you on the bike. Great riding!
Good input. I'll do that.
Any footage from the superstock race on Saturday? I ran that one before I wadded my bike up in the superbike race
@@cadeutegg4102 I do have some. I got a terrible start, and I'm sure you were gone from view pretty quickly considering you were running 1:10s. Nice riding.
@@toolman55 thank you. Me and the bike felt great. I unfortunately lost the front in 4 in the superbike race and wadded it up pretty bad. I was hoping to see it one time before it got trashed haha
Are you using stock gearing?
Nice pass on turn 4!
I'm still new to the offroad scene, took my XR650L to crow canyon once lol it's a lot of fun
I had an XR650L too. It was a '17 that I made look like an 80s XR.
Hey man may I feature it? It'll be credited and linked back to your channel
No thanks, but I appreciate you asking though.
@@toolman55 no prob. Thanks for replying
Baylor brothers have mad skills and are always fun to watch and listen to!
Hey man sounds awesome. I want to do this to my tiger explorer. I was wondering if you had any longer videos or take offs with this can on.
I do not, and I sold this bike too.
Toolman 44092 thanks for the reply! May I ask why you sold? And did you like that exhaust
@@santinosalamone9172 I liked the off-road part so much that I went to a full dirt bike. The exhaust was great. Best bang for the buck out there.
Toolman 44092 cool! I’ve never been off road with mine but I do have a dirt bike for that. Thanks man I’m probably going to buy this can or the 14 inch version can’t decide I want it to sound good and loud without it being to obnoxious. In your opinion did you ever find this to loud?
@@santinosalamone9172 it wasn't too loud.
That is nice. I wish we had one track like that near by. It is interesting how huge the BRP looks compared to the others. Ride on man!
My Chief Classic would stall at 750-800 RPMs. It also has Freedom true duals and upgraded Indian airtake.
The cams bring the idle RPMs down.
This is really good for high school level the camera work and commentary. I'm really impressed.
