Forging a Wolf Tooth Seax
A small ode to spring and life after dark winter months.
This broke back seax was forged out of scraps laying around the workshop. The multi-bar pattern blade is forge welded out of 384 layer wild pattern damascus steel which together with wrought iron shapes the so-called wolf teeth. The center of the blade is low layer twist damascus steel and finally the spine is wrought iron.
Bronze bolster and holm oak serve as handle.
I wish to give special thanks to Emiliano Carrillo of "Sun and Stars Forge" for support and for precious advices throughout the forging process.
I also wish to give thanks and high praise to David DelaGardelle of "Cedarlore Forge" whose work has been always an inspiration to me. The carving of the handle was highly inspired by his work and tutorials on his Patreon.
Finally I wish to give thanks to Dean Wesley who helped me with video editing advices.
To my dear wife and all my friends, thank you for supporting me in this craft.
You can find detailed photos of the knife on my Instagram and also see my other work:

Forging a Damascus Rambo Knife - First Blood
This blade was forged out of 1075 and 15n20 steel, composing a high layer wild pattern damascus. The guard and the pommel are made of low layer damascus. The handle is made out of walnut root wood. Veg-tanned leather serves as sheath. Although the damascus pattern is random, I tried to make it appear as if it has blood stains, connecting it to the movie First blood. For more detailed photos che...
From Wrought Iron to Steel - Making Hearth Steel
Ever since I fell in love with swords, knighthood and blacksmithing I've always wanted to make my own steel. Now that dream finally came true and I am happy beyond words. Hearth furnace was used throughout the history to refine iron and turn it into steel. In a controlled atmosphere iron melts and imbues with carbon from the charcoal. I dedicate this video to Emiliano Carrilo whose unselfish ad...
Forging a Raindrop Damascus Knife
Fire and water collide. By fire the beauty of water is imprinted in metal. Ode to autumn and to the beauty of nature. Raindrop damascus knife; 104 layers, no power tools, hand forged out of 1075 and 15n20 high carbon steel, olive wood handle.
Sorry don't like video that don't explain what you are doing.
You can check out video with Emiliano Carrillo about the same project. He explains at length the entire process. In general I try to focus with my videos on just diving into the process, be in silence with sound of tools (and nature). But I totally understand that it's not to everyone's liking. Still, I hope you got something useful out of it! Cheers!
Love it!❤👍
Thank you so much!!
I think you missed the vital parts of this video. You put coal / charcoal in but skipped the part where you put the iron in.. Why is that?
I think you can see that at 03:50 Peaces from the papers one by one.
@spaaggetii I agree that it could have been more visible and plain; but you can see it at 03:50 ;)
Dummy we know you have electricity yr filming with a camera
Working metal once was considered as witchcraft. As an industrial mechanic, I am proud to be part of the cult. Consider me a new subscriber, good Sir!
Thank you very much my good Sir!
Very Cool
Did you ever try hardening any of this material?
Yes I did and it gets a very good hardness. There will be a future video where I forge a blade out of the steel from this video; so stay tuned ;)
Svaka cast pajdo
Hvala ti legendo!🍻
You bring honor to the craft handed down by the fathers May the hammer be light in your hand today We thank the Maker for this wolf-toothed blade!
And you bring honor to me by your poetic comment. My bow noble bard!

Hvala ti :D
Sweet! man that turned out great.
Thank you very much! I was really happy (and a bit surprised) how it turned out!
Cool stuff! Your furnace is the smallest, simplest I’ve seen. I’m in Northern Alberta. Intend todo a bloom this summer. Thanks guys, great work.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Emiliano Carrilo helped me a lot with this project, so make sure you watch his video as well before you start making. Good luck with the project!!

Thank you brother!
Bravo asu
Hvala kralju!
could you post a picture of the rambo knife design, please
You mean the template I used?
@@poemaincudisworkshop4366 yes
@@ylmazoytan8334 I literally took a photo of the knife from google and printed it to scale to match the original size. I'm searching now again to give you the link but I cannot find the exact one I used. But if you google "Rambo first blood knife template", some photos from a good angle will come out. You can use any, but just make sure that the number of the teeth on the spine of the blade is the same as in the movie. There are some copies which have more or less than the original, so be careful ;)
That's awesome. Well done. You might like my videos. I'm showing my collection of Rambo knives and Japanese swords etc. Cheers
Thank you man! Your collection is awesome!!
@@poemaincudisworkshop4366 thank you. I will be doing much more. I hope to do some more videos this weekend
