I remember the MARVELETTES performing in Cleveland, Ohio at a nightclub called the MUSIC BOX at 10616 Euclid Ave. I had the priviledge of playing behind them. They were the best. They should have been in the Rock Hall of Fame before any of these people that they are nominating these days what a trip. How much does it cost to get them in? Everything has a price.

I hate that Georgia wasn’t able to live her true dreams. Just imagine the gems she would’ve continued to push out if she didn’t have to play surrogate mother to her siblings. No young woman should be kept from her dreams due to responsibilities that were never hers.

I remember grooving to the Marvellettes word for word as a little girl, the youngest of five, hearing these songs played by my teen sisters in the 60s.

I moved to Las Vegas in about 2002. When I saw marquees with The Marvelettes, The Platters, and The Coasters, I almost exploded! All HUGE favorites of mine! But when I found that there were almost no original members, I just lost my enthusiasm to see them. Little Anthony and The Imperials were still together, and played Vegas now and then, sounding JUST like they did as teenagers. Ditto The Tokens. What a high! ! ! Gene Pitney, Neil Sedaka, Lesley Gore, Peggy March, Darlene Love... I loved living here. I didn't know much about The Marvelettes' story, and finding out about how it all went down, I'm glad I didn't go to any of the 'tribute' shows.

Why didn't gordie or smokey help her? Their families should get some of the royalties.

Shameless neglect by the Motown “family” of a great group. The music business elevates and then it crushes. Diana was both shrewd and lucky, certainly no more talented , and just a tad more beautiful, than all those other great girls. 😢

Much respect to the Marvelettes. All those groups in the sixties had to tour too hard, too much, too fast -- and the travel and performing took its toll in many ways. That the music lives on is a tribute to their flexibility and endurance as well as talent, rehearsing & effort. These songs aren't "oldies" but CLASSICS. To turn on AM radio and hear a Marvelettes hit meant instant happiness.

I wasn’t born until the 70s but this is probably my fav Motown group besides the Jacksons and the temps.. awesome music. Don’t mess with bill and magician grabbed my attention.

I want to give a random shout out to Donald Austin (Crazy Legs). He played guitar on “that’s how heartaches are made” and was good friends with Gladys Horton up until she passed in 2011. God bless these folks and I’m thankful for their contribution to music history ❤💪🙏
