5 Techniques to Master As a New Rider
New to motorcycles?! 🏍️ This video is going to give you a handful of techniques to start developing on your own, even some before you own your first motorcycle! I bought my bike earlier this year and don't claim to know it all, but I'm hoping that what I have learned so far will be able to help you in your journey! Of course, there are many other things to learn and consider when starting out. What I am sharing are the most important ones I have dealt with so far! We all start somewhere, and there is nothing wrong with being a newbie!

I had a smooth cop get behind me at 110, I didn’t even see him and when I’m moving like that. Of course I’m looking. Tires cold, weather cold, road a little damp. I pulled over at 110 in a 65. I guess being a vet, old and respectful paid off. He said slow down! I said No, I’ve been hit twice, not getting hit a third time. He said go and I’m documenting our visit so the next time, they likely will ticket you. Way cool! I ride a R1, I could’ve dropped a gear but conditions didn’t support that idea! Cool cop! He was a vet too

Lmao, I've been _passed_ by cops while doing 15 over on the highway. Really depends on where you are and what the normal driving around there is like.
@RamadaArtist correct. On a sleepy small town area like mine 15 over could have gotten me a ticket, but if i was in Texas or California 15 over is the speed limit 🤣
I passed a bunch of kids who got so excited as I rode buy, one did the hand jester. Never been more trilled to rev my engine. Wish I had my camera.

#3 Turning the head (and upper body) is the most important "technique". Particularly in the twisties. 🎉

I speed both on my bike and in my camaro. Most of the time, if you own it and aren't swerving around like a dumbass, the cops don't care.
Ive had them just flash those lights at me and never pull out. Those drop the heart but you feel so thankful 🤣

Nice the Ninja is a great starter bike from what I hear. I am looking into the Ninja 650, which technically is a sport tourer, just because I live in a city and while the Ninja 400 is a nice bike, and a good starter entry to sport bikes, it's just too dangerous to be underpowered, but equally as dangerous to be overpowered with these absolute psychos on the roadways here.
@amanb8698 i will say my experience with the 400 has been good. I can acccerlate decently, but the 650 was too physically heavy for me to maneuver personally. Best of luck to you!! 🫶
@@joyridemel Thanks, question have you ever taken the Ninja 400 on any highways? or do you just keep to local traffic? And no worries, safety and comfort when riding are priority.
@@joyridemel Like I always worry because it can get scary in my city, very aggressive drivers, people that are very impatient and very competitive. Lots of road racers, and road raging. People driving way too fast. Then lots of dummies who will just change lanes without signaling or stopping, they just run through red lights, false stop at stop signs, and fly right through streets to catch lights, rear end you, slam on breaks, race to a light. The entitlement is insane lol
@amanb8698 yes hwy all the time! I have not done it...but supposedly the ninja 400s top out around 125-130mph. Depending on what hwy Im usually doing 70-85mph most days commuting to work!

@@joyridemel You are going to find one big advantage in regards to motorcycles. When they break down or get "sick" you can just shove it into a stall and not worry about it. LOL

I usually do 10 over every where. The PD has got infront of me before and rolled up on people in the left lane, they clear out quick. You don't wanna do the same speed as cars where I'm at, people get hit and run regularly or die.
@pepsigoodman99 yikes man! 😬 unfortunately its true going over the speed limit usually gets you out of harms way. If youre not around anyone else they cant hit you 💯
@@joyridemel yea I always go for open road. It's weird with so many accidents here that lane splitting isn't legal however there's a lot of illegal riding and stunt riding here so idk if well ever get that in TN. We try every year.

I’m on a 300 and I think it’s too much for me 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m a weenie so maybe that’s why too. I’ve ridden my husbands bike a 900 and it’s got a few upgrades let’s say I almost flew off 😂 but even in rain mode it’s way way too powerful for little old me 😅 I should stayed with my benelli 💀💀🤣🤣🤣
Lol different strokes! Just because you ride a 300 doesnt make you any less than. You have to ride your own ride and do what is best for you. Anyone else that has a problem with that can stuffed. 😂 being a new rider i am glad i bought a lower CC bike so that I can master it and then move up if/when I ever want to. 🫶 ride safe out there!! ❤
