One handed removal trick and more

This soap dispenser has quit working, so I needed to change it out. It had been installed for quite a while. The threads were gummy, so I used a little WD-40 from above to help loosen it. That part isn't in this video. The trick was to get it apart with one hand because I couldn't reach all around with both nor fit both hands in the tight space given. I'm also attempting to fix the old pump, an...

My Metatarsalgia Maintenance! The sequel

Metatarsalgia maintenance. After years of foot pain, I came up with a video because I got a leg up on it, and maybe this would help others. I have developed more things to help with managing my pain. Now, after many people subscribed and commented on how it helped them, I thought I should do a follow-up maintenance video. Thanks & enjoy!

    Um... the reason you had some tension on yours... Is because it IS auto adjusting. If it's not, it needs repaired. Same mechanism as rear drum brakes on old cars.

      @The000buckshot Місяць тому

      @researcher4good Thanks. I did not have tension. I tested the brakes, pulled the e brake pin, and only one side worked. They should all lock up. Thats why I adjusted them. The mechanism only works to ratchet more tension if it is working properly.

      @@The000buckshot , gotcha. They sell brake adjuster kits with all the parts: adjuster wheel, cable, plates and springs. I suggest taking the drum off and seeing if it's needed. It might just need a dab of grease on the wheel threads or the cable may not be in the right spot.

      @mr.meeseeks6549 my feet are doing well. I took a break thinking I was good to go, but I had to start doing it again. The only update I can give for now is that when I stand straight & even on my memory foam yoga mat for a minute, then step off, I can see how my feet and toes imprint. I find my problem toes tend to lift a bit and not print in the mat. I haven't had any problems in a while now, but I try to remain aware of this and try to keep my toes down. Walk with the purpose of pushing my toes down each step. I also stretch them by pointing my feet down, aiming my leg back a bit, curling my toes, then press into the floor. Do this standing up or sitting in a dining chair so you can put your foot under and behind you a bit. A good stretch (no pain) over the shin.

    Firstly thanks for the video and sharing it, most appreciated. At 63 I have finally discovered that I should have been wearing extra wide type shoes, didn't know that. Perhaps that might have contributed to both my Metatarsalgia and Plantar Fasciitis in both feet. I have tried many things and altho the PF is improving a lot the pain of the metatarsalgia, more so in my right, is not good at all. It is as you describe but for me between my second and third toe, the second toe on my right foot had gone hammer like. I notice you had a similar look with your toe(s). In the shower I notice a feeling of a largish flattened pebble at the base of my right foot, as you describe. X-rays were largely fine. Ultrasound showed PF in both feet but also a Morton's Neuroma on both. I am trying hard to avoid excision and surgery for the MN's. I am using insoles and make my own metatarsal pads to try and help. I have, having just watched your video, ordered some bands, having also just started to use "spiky balls" as a way to offer a massage. I had been using a frozen bottle of water to roll my feet on. This discomfort can be pretty debilitating, not good at all. Great result for you and hopefully you will continue to have great relief...? IIRC Metatarsalgia just means pain in the ball of the foot. The reason could be a MN or other combination of factors. I am not wholly convinced that my pain is due to a MN, so many people have MN's with zero symptoms, hence avoiding for now what my specialist just advised this week and that was excision of the nerve and neuroma. That doesn't always go well. What is cut and removed cannot be put back...! Take care.

    • @The000buckshot

      Thanks! I do keep my pain managed for the most part. I slack off and it starts to come back. I agree surgery is only for if there's definitely no other option. I would try to use a light band to start with, and on the affected toes. Good luck!

      @@The000buckshot Good that you can, so far, self manage your condition. Did you ever get it checked out, with x-ray or ultrasound etc...? @Vimes. Рік тому

      @@The000buckshot Fair enough. I decided to go for x-rays / ultrasound etc to rule out anything that could be "fixable" in terms of bone fractures or something else, as the pain seemed to be long lasting. Then again non specific type metatarsalgia or PF can be also long lasting. At least you are managing to help yourself with your situation. It started when I took a step with the right foot (the one that had the pain) and made a left turn. Thanks for sharing this! I've been dealing with metatarsalgia for almost two years now. It actually got worse after I had a shoulder surgery and had to be much less active for a few months.. (similarly to your case) Your exercise definitely helps in gaining strength in the big toe muscles (particularly the flexor hallucis brevis), which in my case still feels somewhat atrophied, and I believe that's why the problem hasn't gone away yet. I'm not sure what it could be. Mine was underneath between the first and second toes.

      Hi! Thanks for watching! I still (rarely) step on something in the area that was affected, and I cringe. It started working right away making a difference in my foot. I have had several people tell me that it also worked for them pretty quickly. I have been amazed that it has helped others. A dream come true for me. My symptoms were similar to mortons neuroma, but I decided to self diagnose it as metatarsalgia. Good luck!

      Crawdad, crayfish, very similar to shrimp I think. Fresh water critters with pinchers.

    It worked for me. My foot pain reduced after exercising once. I will take some rest and practice this more per day. Thank you James!

      I am a pt. Its embarrassing that orthopadic doctors and even myself or other pts didnt know how to help in footproblems! This Shows how easy severe problems could be solved. James god bless you and maybe you find a solution for a hallux limitus :)...
