❤ You did very good, for your first video. Thanks. I AM 1/12th Cherokee. I know it's just a touch indian, but I AM very proud of being a small part of such a wise culture. Looking forward to more videos. I will leave you with a quote: "Never envy two people in love. For while they think they are solely falling in love with (the other), they are actually falling in love with hidden ASPECTS of their own dynamic personality, that only (the other) seems magically able to draw up to the surface of their own awareness to finally be acknowledged and celebrated." Yes, it does seem the well meaning Christian's did seem to throw the clean baby out with the proverbial dirty bath water.

You get very little correct in this video. The Navajo concept of Nadgleeh has nothing to do with sexuality and “gender” as modern cultural deconstructionalist philosophy contextualizes them. To the modern cultural deconstructionist “gender” is a social construct. People can choose their “gender”. To Navajos, gender is intrinsic to being and nature: Male rain/female rain, male corn/ female corn, Ateed la/Ashkii la. There’s no inbetween. Nadgleeh in the creation story refers specifically to hermaphrodites, or as western society would recognize them intersex individuals suffering from a genetic disorder such as Klinefelter’s syndrome. These original Nadgleeh, were able to intermingle with the men and women and could learn skills from both genders. During the story of The Seperation of the Sexes, there were men who could make pots and weave and there were women who could hunt. To Navajo, sex and gender are the same thing. Male is to man as sex is to gender. In the old days, life was difficult. So Navajo society focused primarily on survival. How does claiming to be a different “gender”, in the western cultural deconstructionist context, affect survival? It doesn’t. What about homosexuality? It means generally you wouldn’t produce offspring, not very helpful to assisting the tribe in survival. What you get right is that life skills like weaving and hunting were sexed/gendered activities. In general men are physically stronger than women. More importantly men cannot get pregnant. Which means if a man dies in battle, the tribe doesn’t lose all the babies that man might have had, because men can’t get pregnant. However, exceptional women are sometimes stronger than men(think female MMA fighters like Ronda Rowsy) and could participate in battle because their strength was an asset to the tribe more so than her womb. Did she have to be homosexual? No. Did she have to claim to be a different “gender”? No. She would be a woman with a life skill, warfare, that was traditionally practiced by men. She would Nadgleeh. Cultural deconstructionist philosophy has co-opted native belief structures, like Navajo and Nadgleeh or other tribes and “two-spirits”, and reimagined them through a deconstructionist lens. It is exactly what it claims to be, cultural deconstruction. When Natives refer to cultural genocide this is what they mean. The Facebook comment you originally refer to in your video is correct, that person just happens to not be skilled at articulating their meaning. The use of Native American traditions to bolster their cultural deconstructionalist agenda is propaganda and real colonization.
