This was my first time at New Jersey Motorsports Park. I have always wanted videos similar to this as a track rider who isn't that fast. Most guys who post video with any commentary are usually flying with crazy pace. I am just your normal human who does this sport for fun. If you are headed to NJMP I hope this helps!

This was from our second round of practice. Just putting in a few laps to get the feel of the track. It was a hot day out at New Jersey Motorsports Park but man what a facility we were at! Absolutely beautiful.

What an absolute crap shoot off the starting line. One of my worst launches of my career. Was able to salvage 7th in my class but struggled the first two laps getting out of my head at how bad my start was. Ended up in the 1:39's on the Hypermotard.

Another race in the books. The suspension has not been done in the front with he new SP forks. After having a great race Saturday and finishing well, I took it easy on Sunday just trying to run some decent times and stay out of the way. Still had a blast and was in the 1:50 flats often which felt good. Leg is still healing as well so hopefully at Talledega we can push and see a better result.

Having the time of my life racing against a great group of guys. Just to be clear my big bike boys that my bike somehow qualifies for that class were long gone! However the Next Gen Superbike 3 guys were fun to play with and I almost got one at the end. Horsepower problems.

This was the first session of day 2. Was still trying to get nice and loose but went out had a nice fun clean session and headed back in.

Was a good track weekend, intermediate is like a thunder dome of individuals who have a ten second difference in the class. It causes bunch ups and sometimes can lead to dangerous situations for those who are not patient. Unlike most I am patient.

still super smooth.. just listening to the engine revs and gear changes, on downshifts theres like a small delay while down shifting..? So its off throttle, downshift… rrrnnnnn … downshift.. rrnnnnn and not off throttle, downshift, downshift to reduce the dead coasting part meaning u come in hotter, brake harder, bang down the box faster and go..
@@hypermotardking yeah so I use more engine braking with brakes type of thing. I found that when I bang gears and brake real late with the bikes weight it gets unhappy. With the way I ride, it allows me to carry a little more corner speed and that’s where I like to pass guys. I let off a little earlier then other guys racing but by time we hit the spec I’m back up on them usually on the gas a little sooner too. At least that’s the idea or the goal… not to mention a lot less abbusive on the bike too.
@@shanecassell1898 makes sense.. shows in the riding - need a wider angle next time to capture the dash/front 👍🏻
@@hypermotardking yeah this is on the nose of the bike and for some reason captures pretty well. I havnt been able to find a good spot to mount so you see more action type of thing.

Yeah I end up catching back up to him around lap 4 was planning on passing him and the white bike but ran out of laps.

HAHA bro you will get there I have been doing this for 10 years on and off. Just gotta find the right bike to ride and be comfortable throwing it in there! you have to realize there are a lot more skilled dudes riding these tires to their max capabilities we are just a percentage of that tires capability. Lean in and go!

Yeah my right knee is in rough shape from years of abuse playing sports so I sometimes struggle and get fatigued much earlier turning right than left. Not nearly as strong as it should be.

We plan on running them again. It now has flash, filter, exhaust, etc.

Define real rider… obviously I ride… have time on both normal roads and track time. So I would call myself a rider yes. This video is simply showing that the ktm has a power advantage over the hyper.
I have a 2021 Hypermotard 950 SP. I've had for a a year and three months, and as of yesterday, I've racked up 9485 miles on Northern California twisties. I'm glad that you ride, and I strongly recommend you check out Motojitsu, Canyon Chasers, Moto Control, Platix88. There is always something to learn. Also; watch Nick Ienatch videos on Champ U. Good luck.

@@shanecassell1898 I'm trying to decide between these two. The KTM seems to have a reputation for poor build quality, especially compared to the hyper. I think I'd rather have the hyper but it's $6k more in Australia
@@mattgreenwood2459 if it’s my I would still go hypermotard all day long. If we weee at a track I probably would have been able to keep up better in the twisties the straight line speed is probably due to the fact I weigh double what dude weighs as well as no tune ok the Ducati. Looks wise I think the Ducati is better.
@@shanecassell1898 Have you ridden the 890R? With respect--It's a track weapon and considered one of the best handling, best suspended, with he best brakes bikes off the showroom floor. The weight will impose same disadvantage on track. Braking, corners, everything.
@@tomtraynor5384 I did get to ride it and fully agree with it being a track weapon. I like the feel of the Hypermotard more though I will say. I think it just fits my riding style more.
at 43 km/h you must be with the 2' gear .. it's normal that he gives you 40 meters. Ktm could be better, but you are not using all the power of the bike. Is it on "sport" with all values desabled in sport settings ?

I am on q4s. Pressure are right around 28 rear hot and 30 hot front. I personally can't get enough of my dunlops this q4 is a game changer however I have a feeling slicks are on the horizon.

Monday’s are great there are rarely over 20 riders between all the groups so it makes for an easy day not a lot of traffic! Feel free to reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram and maybe we can plan a day love helping riders

I am running 1:32's - 1:34's you are more than capable of doing it too. Next time you will roll with us in intermediate and we will get you there! At those times you are simply having fun you do not have to worry much about wrecking the tires are capable of way more than what you are putting them through.
