I’ve read Altered Carbon, and I think my expectations were a bit too high as well. Didn’t do it for me. I’ve never read any of Dan Well’s stuff. Now I’m adding his books to me TBR.

I could see fairy tale series, but they need to add some more debth to the other world that the book sort of glossed over.

I really like the Bob books. The first three are really good in my opinion and book four and five are good but not as good.

I've been meaning to read Wool for so long now, definitely need to get to it sooner rather than later. And We Are Legion just sounds like such a blast!

I just picked up Snow Crash from the library because I have seen a fair amount of people say it’s really good, I always go into books with low expectations when I see them praised a lot. Fingers crossed I at least enjoy it haha.

Great news update. I feel maybe if Fairy Tale had 6-8 episodes then it would be a perfect length for this book. 10 episodes make me weary of a couple of filler or lower-quality episodes. Loved the book, glad I read it. Happy reading everyone and have a great weekend!

I disagree about Snow Crash, AND NOW WE MUST GO TO WAR! But seriously, I really enjoyed this, you have a fantastic delivery and I'm looking forward to the rest. I couldn't get Foundation, myself, maybe I'm too dumb but I much preferred I , Robot, Caves of Steel etc.

I guess there are not 100 loved sci-fi books, the first 10 or all here because we had to have 100 books. Not one "I loved this book" at all. I respect the honesty. Maybe you could have called it a top 100 list but just started at 50. Opening line "I have not read 100 sci-fi books that I enjoyed, so my top 100 starts at 50."

I tracked it down in my audible library and it got run over by Malazan last December 😬 Thanks for reminding me if it 🙌🏻🤓🙌🏻 There's this fun Kevin Hearn/Delilah Dawson series that pokes hood fun at classic fairy tales. Fun review 🎉

Happy to see how well-read you are! Most of those are on my TBR, except Foundation by Asimov because I'm afraid that there'll be simply way too little plot for me to enjoy it. The only one I read is 2001: A Space Odyssey and I quite liked it, although it started quite slow. Still a 4* read for me. Keep em coming!
