Custom Built Shed Cupola With Copper Shingle Roof
I built a cupola for my shed. Built from scratch without much of a plan. The copper roof was a late decision and it turned out to be way too much work, but it came out pretty good in the end.

VW Jetta TDI BRM Glow Plug Harness Replacement 2005.5- 2006
Переглядів 3,3 тис.Рік тому
This is how I suggest to splice in a new glow plug wire harness on 2005.5- 2006 Jetta TDI with BRM engine code. This plug is under the air box and it is essentially where the factory harness is tied in. From the factory the four wires run as part of the main harness. When you replace it you will be splicing in at the plug and wire tying the four wires to the main harness to run from the air box...
2006 VW Jetta TDI Engine Wire Harness Replacement Intermittent Engine Shut Off

I've been having a problem with intermittent shut offs on my 2006 Jetta TDI. Up until this last time I haven't had any codes to go on. Previously I replaced the crank speed sensor and the cam sensor. It ran for quite a while until it acted up again. Then I replaced the ECU and it went 1800 mile before it shut off again for me. The first and most recent times were in heavy rain. This most recent...
VW TDI Coolant System Won't Bleed? Check This.
Переглядів 3,3 тис.Рік тому
I've run into this many times over the years. It seems as though if this line plugs after the system is bled you may not notice a problem. When it usually shows up for me is when you are refilling the system after service. The coolant won't drain from the bottle and air is trapped in the system. It's always a good idea to make sure the small hose is flowing when the engine is running. www.metal...

Let me ask, in my case a skoda octavia 1.6 TDi 2017, euro 6 engine coolant bleeding. After a cold start, its only starts to flow from the hose, when the engine reach 87 celsius right? So untill its not get? After waterpump change, how would you bleed my system?
I'm not familiar with that motor. We don't have that in the US. I would say that it should flow no matter what the engine temperature is you may have to rev it a little to get some flow at the small tube. You can try to blow in the hose to see if it is clear.
@ ehhm “have to rev it”? What does it mean rev? Xd
@@balintviktor2409Increase the RPMs.
Hi where can I find the wiring diagram for 2006 VW Jetta?
I have been getting overheating issues on the CAYC TDI engine I did the waterpump and thermostat and still got the issue tho it seem to be random when it does it. going to try take the top pipe of the expansion tank and see if its clogged up
Does that twist of pop off the brake booster? That is the vacuum line that connects to the brake booster right.
It is held in the boost with a rubber grommet. I rock the fitting around a bit and spray it with silicone and gently remove it. That grommet is around $20 so try not to tear it.
Splice at connector under air box or directly at relay under fuse box?
That may be possible. I like this way because that basically where the factory harness is connected.
@ is this the connector under air box?
Best video out of them all! Short and to the point. I saw what I needed to know with no cussing a complaining like a child the whole time.
Thanks, my lack of editing skills dictates that my videos are short and to the point.
This would have been useful if you also showed where those lines are in the vehicle.
They all run from the vacuum pump on the end of the motor to the brake booster.
Thanks man
Where can I purchase a harness?
Email me at mavwp@ptd.net with your VIN.
Been trying to figure this out for a while. Thanks!!
Dennis met you thru TDI Club…..wish you were closer to me my JETTA CVCA NEEDS A timing belt change
I wish you weren’t so far away
How do those connectors work on the end of the coolant plug harness? Do I need to solder and shrink wrap or is there a recieving plug end?
On most applications you'll use heat shrink butt connectors.
good to know friend gets the mint power steering hoses for them and the lines for the top of the racks and other stuff for 04-05's
Can you test them to know if they are bad on the car and it’s not the pump itself?
Usually when these fail it is visible that the hose is cracked. You could remove it at the booster and check for vacuum with the motor running, then check for vacuum at the pump. The bad part about that way is then you're stuck with an unusable car or reinstalling a bad part that probably is now in worse condition after being removed.
Another stupid design
I’m having the same issue with my 06 tdi so I ordered a wiring harness. Were you also not able to communicate the the engine module with vcds when the car shut off? I think ecu will be my next thing if a new wiring harness doesn’t fix it.
If you can't communicate with the ECU with the key on it sounds more like a power supply relay problem. It would be cheaper and easier to try that.
I had continuity from the red/green stripped wire from the bottom of the fuse box to where it enters the ecu as 3 red/green wires at pins 3,4,6. At that point I wasn’t sure what to do next so I just put everything back together and then had vcds communication to the engine module and the car started. I ran it for a month and now it’s acting up again. I also changed the 100 relay and cleaned all 5 grounds. Running out of ideas.
2nd one from the left, what does the very short tube sticking out of the saucer do? Is there a hose that goes on that?
They all have the small fitting on them. This is the source for the vacuum system that operates things like the VNT actuator on the turbo, EGR valves and such.
im sorry you had to do all that work! Im going to write this comment so others know you only have to take off the charge pipe from the inter cooler to the throttle body than you can access the bolt. i appreciate this video it did help me confirm where the bolt was located and that its a 13 mm
I have seen other videos where there changed them the way you describe. I have done a few since I've done the video and it really doesn't take long to get everything apart. Glad this helped you.
On the tensioners why is one with a spring and the other in a casing ?
@@eyeamjaydee915 It's just an updated version of the part.
Do you have to make the splice so close to the connector? Why can’t these be sold with a new connector?
You can splice it in anywhere there is access to the wires. I feel splicing near the plug gives a more factory like repair. There are other wires on the plug near where I splice, it just wasn't designed to be a separate removeable part.
Did this fix the issue?
It seems to have fixed it. I now have about 3500 miles on it since I changed the harness and it's been fine. Just yesterday I passed 280,000 miles on the car.
I have a similar issue. I'm having various alerts pop up on my 2006 VW Jetta GLI dash and took the car to the local VW repair shop. The technician said that he was familiar with these issues, which were related to errors picked up during a VCDS scan. He focused on the Engine wiring harness and a second harness in the engine bay. He indicated that oil had propagated into the wiring harness and was causing the electronic signals from various sensors to respond in an erratic manner. Which also led to the engine to respond erratically to incoming sensor signals. Replacing the harnesses would be the first step to determining if the error codes picked during the VCDS scan were actual problems or just noise ro a combination of both. Either way the quote for labor and parts for the fishing expedition was high. I have some questions regarding oil in the wiring harness as it is something I hadn't seen before. I hope your wiring harness issues are quickly resolved.

Dennis you did my timing belt and struts on my 99.5 TDI. I moved away and am 2 TDIs later, now living in state college. my 2015 passat I think maybe should get a new timing belt. 105kmiles, but it is 8 years. maybe I can wait or.... I had forgotten about you in sunbury, need to re-establish contact. mark
I'm still here in the same place. It's time to start thinking about replacing the belt, but it's no emergency yet.
I now have two of these tools in circulation so there should be a minimal wait time for availability.
I ordered my gasket kit from you last week and I didn’t realize this was you! That’s awesome. Quick question, I forgot where the single metal gasket goes on the cooler, Does it go on the exhaust manifold? Or the side up by the egr valve?
Thank you for your order. The metal gasket goes between the turbo and the tube. The paper ones would go at the other end of the tube and the top tube where the cooler meets the EGR valve.
@@marquetteautomotivevwparts thank you so much. You guys are very helpful. I’ll be ordering from you in the future and I’ll shout you out to all my tdi buddies. Thanks again 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi, i have an 03 with the 4 channel. My engine is done and i found a replacement from an 01 with the 2 channel. Can i use my 4 channel harness on the 2 channel engine ?
Yes, the motors will be the same and you will be using the wiring harness that is in your car.
@@marquetteautomotivevwparts isnt there a vin split on early 02's tdi alh motors that take the 2 wire harness and not the 4 wire?
@@Jeromesclosetbreaks Possibly, that's why I say always check it. I've known of a few customers that would stock the four wire harness then if using on an early car connect 1&2 together and 3&4 together then connect as you would a 2 wire harness. Nothing wrong with that.
@@Jeromesclosetbreaks 99 1/2 to 01 they say are the same, The ebrake and caliper are different as well in that group, a barrel shape end crimp vs ball .
I need help! I have an mk5, but I am unsure where to cut! Dose it go straight to the relay?
For us in the US with a BRM motor there is a plug under the air box. Remove the air box. Separate the plug. Check for continuity to the glow plug end of the harness to be sure you're cutting the correct wires. Cut away the harness wrap to give the maximum wire to work with and splice there using heat shrink butt connectors.
@@marquetteautomotivevwparts I have an 4 wire harness, and I bxj engine! 😅 Do you guys have an Instagram or Facebook, so I could send some pictures?
