Allo! My name is Étienne and I'm a guitarist from Montréal, Canada 📍🇨🇦 ! I have a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Music. I’ve been teaching music since 2015 and I’m just starting to live as a professional musician. Ma langue maternelle est le français y también hablo español.
About teaching: I teach all levels, all styles on the electric and acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, I prefer not to teach classical guitar since it’s not my specialty. In the past, among other things, I've helped students enter CEGEP and university music programs by preparing them for auditions. I also taught as a high school big band educator. I do offer lessons locally in the Montreal area or worldwide via video call.

My One And Only Love - Jazz Fusion Guitar Solo
John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman's version will forever be my favorite jazz ballad recording. It's one of those songs that made my fall in love with the sound of jazz. I was waiting to do my own take of it for a while now. Waiting for that moment where I really felt and knew the standard deep down. There it is! The first part is obviously an homage to Coltrane, but with my sound. The rest is my take on the standard. I'm not shy to say that I'm very proud of the final result. I particularly love the outro. I wanna say a big thank you to my friend Ludovic Rochon for recording the piano and his beautiful solo. The drums, double bass, cello, etc where programmed with BIAB and samples. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!

Improvising ala Monk is something else and it’s pretty hard to do if you want my opinion! It makes you play in a totally different way. Salut; quand est ce que tu choisis quand utiliser ta eastman 175 like vs ta eastman 335 like? Trouves tu une différence de son apportée par le full hollow body, cad autre que les pickup et les cordes? Merci!!
@@jfar3340 Salut! Grosse différence de son et de feel entre les deux oui! Même si les deux ont les mêmes pickups et cordes. Full hollow ne sonnera jamais comme semi-hollow. La 175 dans des situations où je veux sonner plus old school jazz et la 339 dans des situations plus modernes, mais la vérité c'est que les deux peuvent très bien tout faire. C'est plus une question de préférences. Au final, j'ai récemment vendu la 175 puisque je préfère un plus petit body et avoir plus de frets. Par contre, elle a beaucoup moins de propriétés acoustiques et le son est moins rond et bassy. C'est une question de choix. Le meilleur des deux mondes serait une 330 full hollow, mais elles sont rares et chères haha! J'espère avoir répondu à votre question!

@@gordospeti Thanks! The electric in my apartment is very noisy too so it's worse in those clips than somewhere with a quieter electric floor noise
