I know Founders is budget friendly and mass produced….but I’ve had beer almost double the price that isn’t as good as what Founder’s puts out for the price. I’m looking at you, Dogfish head!

Bramble Rye used it, but I don’t think Backyard was rye.

JUST walked in the door with this in hand, new in Indiana (nice sweatshirt!). Also says canned 11/14/24 here. I don't love the "little thing" series and only got this because it said "west coast." I agree, very dry and mildly west coast, but not very exciting. It's better than other little things, but it's not Celebration, or even Pale Ale. Cheers and Happy 2025 Dan!

I will have to finish watching your review after I pick this one up. The one I had back in 2022 was 6.8% ABV. I went back and checked out my review just to make sure about the ABV and I did say 6.8%. Im sure you can get a single of this at Bells. I will have to stop by and see if I can find it.

Thanks for the review. They make the Choklat imperial stout which is the same 10% base beer. My favorite desert stout, so hard to find. Yum yum!

I'm from Finland, and I've never seen that brand before. Maybe it's a product sold only abroad. But the real "lonkero" that people drink in Finland is the one called Original Long Drink. The can has a striped pattern.

I bought a single, drank the whole thing, but at no point was I excited to go back for another sip. This KBS lacked depth it stayed the same dull espresso taste throughout. Way too thin wasnt wowed at all. Not enough chocolate (afterthought) wouldnt buy again to be honest, pretty much second what you said here 3.8/5

Just tried this for the first time was wondering if you ever reviewed it. This beer is GREAT! Honestly could put this down like straight up lemon water. That being said I guess I can understand the middling rating considering its very 2 tone (sourness with a distinct dryness like white wine), however I dont mind either of those taste and when put together you get an extremely easy to put down, smooth beer. Gonna buy 2 more of these.

Wow, Oct 10th?!? Just cracked mine and it’s drinking great. This is easily my favorite Christmas beer and I try to get it every year.

Please keep in mind that grapefruit and vacation has a bad reaction an alcoholic medication does not work

Haven't seen this one yet. I have had probably every beer SN has ever released. and none of them can compare to their Pale Ale or Torpedo, which are excellent. I'm pretty good at predicting your rating at the end of all the beers you review, and I was very close on this one, I predicted a 3.92. Will look for this. Cheers and Happy Holidays.

So it's interesting you liked this. I know you've had some misses lately. I'm drinking a 2021 BCB Blanton's right now, and while it's a very different beer, I get a similar impression after the 3 years. Lots of chocolate, oak, char, and not a hint of oxidation or age. Now, not ALL BCBS beers pull this off, but I do think that if any BA stout can survive, it's these. Still drink them fresh though!

Other Half Brewing may be one of the most consistent breweries to ever come out of New York. Their Cheddar, Chicken, and Broccoli, and Jumbo Slice, are all excellent brews. They’re located in a neighborhood in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn New York (also the location of some great pizza restaurants) and apparently really like food titles 😂

Personally, I really don't like "pastry" beers. To me this is a horrible trend. I love sours, but they don't need to become liquid sweetarts.

I miss the days of the bombers. Man, those were good days. I have alot of old Founders beers, Bourbon Countrys and I get a few Parabola stouts every year. I keep them in a special fridge around 55 degrees. I have had some bad and really good. To date my favorite aged beers 4+ years or so have been Ballast Point Victory at Sea and Founder Breakfast Stout. I think keeping them a little chilled helps. Thanks for the review Dan!

I appreciate you posting these Dan. Great to see the throwbacks for sure, and they serve as a great PSA to caution us about aging our beer. I’m seeing a lot of people talking about aging their expensive Bourbon County variants, to save for a special occasion. They don’t consider they are already aged for a year, sometimes two when hitting retail.

Just found this today at my local Meijer, had not seen it before, says it was brewed on 11-1-24.

When did you record this video? The weather here in the Detroit area has been freezing the last few days. Griffion Claw still make the Flying Buffalo line of beers. I still have a couple of the 2023 base version in my beer fridge.

I'm glad you're coming around! I was really into aging beers and experimenting about 10 years or so when craft beer was booming. I found that it's just not worth it. Maybe 5% of the time you'll get lucky and something nice will develop, but I've never had an aged beer and ever said it was better than when it was fresh.
