When I Found Out My Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Returned | Advice For Cancer Patients
I made a video the day I found out my Acute Myeloid Leukemia had relapsed. I was remembering the first time I was in the hospital undergoing chemo and the things that made that experience not so terrible. Unfortunately, the second time around was much harder because I didn't follow my own advice. I spent too much time looking up things on the internet which sent me into depression and made it harder to stay positive. Things did get better eventually with lots of prayer and support. I wanted to share this advice with others and I pray it's helpful.

My Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Relapse Story
Переглядів 2,6 тис.4 роки тому
I was a cancer survivor for almost three years before the Leukemia returned. This video looks back on my relapse of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), how God brought me through it and what I learned. Today I am still recovering from a stem cell transplant but have been in remission for almost a year.
Very gud ur positive. My daughter khrystelle Banggay 42 s diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia. Hop & pray Hod will give complete healing. B strong & kip d faith ❤❤🙏🙏
If it's any consolation I had an allogeneic bone marrow transplant to cure AML in 2009. Been 14 years now. One dark night in the hospital, I have no family, I got my Bible out and read the verse "By his stripes we are healed" and believed it. Then I said Lord, I'm turning everything over to you, I'm not gonna worry about it anymore. Whether I live or die I know I'll be in good hands with you. Praise the name of Jesus! ❤️🙏
Thank you 🙏🏼 for your video, it gives me hope, about to start my transplant in a week, I’m very worried, scared and feeling a bit lost.
March 14 2019 I was diagnosed with aml’’transplant in remission four years but in back of my head it can return...next year is my five year mark...prayers for you Caleb!
My grandson was born with AML and is currently been treated in StJude. We are living in fear and been praying for his treatment and healing. Will you pray for him?
How are you doing today?
Hi, I was diagnosed in June of 2020 I found out cause I started getting out of breath and went to a ER and got a blood transfusion. My hemoglobin was a 4. I got my blood and went by the following week I was weak again went to the ER without insurance they gave me blood and said see a specialist we can't help you. A few days later I felt that weakness again went to a different hospital this time got admitted they did a bm biopsy and found out about the leukemia. I got chemo 4 time's and been going for check up's every well my stuff jumps up and down but in July my white blood count was 3.4 which scared me. If my next appointment it drops again I will need a biopsy again. I'm terrified I have 4 children. Can you by any chance tell me how low your wb count was when you were told you might have relapsed? It's personal I know I'm just so depressed and feel like I'm going to die. Glad you are better. And ty.
So sorry to hear this Victoria! When I relapsed my WBC was 2,4. I definitely understand the fear and depression. Love on those kids as much as you can and try to think positively. Of course, I know this is next to impossible. My WBC did dip into the 3s once post transplant but it went back up eventually. I’ll be praying for you.
Thanks so much for this wonderful video, my husband was diagnosed 5 weeks ago with AML but also has rather large brain lesion - also a form of Leukemia so like a double whammy! He's started a more gentle chemo as he's 71 and going through a stage of being very withdrawn and extra disoriented - hasn't wanted to do physio for several days. Not easy to witness plus with Covid can only visit 2 days a week here in Toronto.
Thank you @suescape! Please know that I’m praying for your family.
I'll pray for you Caleb. I've had my time with ALM. now a year and a month after my transplant, no leukemia but not such good results so I do worry about relapse. I'll try to stick to your advice. God loves you and totally - we have a purpose. Don't give up. God helps and will make you strong.
Thank you T Rex. Sounds like we’re at similar points in our transplant journey. I’ll pray your AML does not return!

1. Be Positive 2. Stay of the Internet (Research is good but be careful) 3. Understand that you have a Purpose (Glorify God in everything that I do)
