Fairy being weak to Bug sounds logical, NGL.

This makes just as much sense as rock not resisting itself

Even if fairy "ruined ice", the addition of Fairy was still necessary because Dragon and Fighting became way too strong by gen 5 (Dragons more so), and really the only reason why Ice is so bad is because defensively they resist nothing aside from itself...and yet the dev's seem to insist on making so many defensive ice-types which NEVER WORK cause this type is not defensive in the slightest. Seriously what this type needs is perhaps a change to the type chart, if Ice was changed to gain a resistance to say water and ground for example, then it would at least be able to have an easier time coming in, but as it stands its still kinda one of the 5 worst types in the game (if you ask me the bottom 5 types currently are rock, grass, ice, poison and bug) edit: also i do disagree with making Rock weak to Ice cause this is honestly an unnecessary nerf to Rock when this type is already bad on the defensive side having 5 weaknesses which is tied with grass

Has to do with bugs often eating dead bodies and aiding decomposition, a ghost has no physical form and has already gone through decomposition so bugs do nothing to them.

Each type being mechanically distinct and with their own niche would be a strong move for the future of the series. To be honest bugs could fill the niche of strong gimmick-based play with low stat totals, and Normal could fill the role of the role of the basic pokemon that teaches you the ropes of the game, as the name implies. Zigzagoon functions solidly in the role of a basic and reliable first pokemon beyond your starter, and later on picking up a Shroomish could push you into discovering more about statuses with things like stun spore and poison powder. The groundwork is there, I just wish they leaned even more into it tbh. Solid work as always.

As for the question “why do bugs resist fighting” I always remember the tumblr post that goes like “Have you tried punching a bug?”

I agree that ice is most useful for taking out dragon. With all the flying types and ground types their paired with gave them an edge

On the "Why do Bug and Fighting resist each other?" front I like to think its because of something like: 'lots of people are afraid of cockroaches and cockroaches are afraid of humans' or 'Bugs are often too fast for humans to squash them and bugs are too small to truly hurt humans.' As for "Why are Bugs strong against Dark?" the only thing I can think of is that it may have something to do with Kamen Rider and other bug based henshin heroes.

i absolutely adore bugs as they are and i absolutely agree with everything you said, though i have to admit it'd be cool to see them leave the 'temporary mon on your team for 5 minutes' niche behind as their only place in the pokemon ecosystem without having to change anything about how the type itself works. i could very easily see them being ability specialists, for example- because what is a bug if not a tiny frail little dude with a 70-30 chance to either get KOed by a speck of dust or seriously mess you up, either physically or mentally, with its weird bug abilities?

I also love that bug type is just literally some little guys.... and I adore how, along with bird keepers, bug catcher trainers are a massive population in the Pokemon world. Most love the little guys! Not unlike how most people's favourite animal is the cat or the dog -- it's the one you had good memories with! The one you raised! You don't want to become a good cat keeper and eventually get rid of them and get a horse, no. You just want more cats, as many as you can have. Bird Keepers and Bug Catchers are extremely relatable and respectable people. Winning life with what they like.

a corection, Ice Types are bad (because gamefreek don't seem how to make good Ice types), ice type moves are what makes Ice strong, but it's usally better on other Pokemons that aren't ice types

Diamond and Pearl suck . Platinum made them look like beta versions . The reason the remakes are considered by some people the worst games in the series is because they are complete replicas of diamond and pearl rather than new games that are inspired by platinum with some extra cool stuff . I like gen 3 the most EMERALD ON TOP . SWAMPERT IS THE GOAT . But I guess there is no real answer for which generation is the best , as long as there are many good things in more than one of them , but let's all remember that the competition will always be between gen 3 ,4 and 5 (that was also coincidentally the peak of ingame events). Also Jotho>Kanto (the gen 2 pokemon might not all be that good , a great part if you think a bit , but there are some good ones too Furret and also Ampharos and Wooper and Rainkou ). Gen 2 and 3 are improving and fixing the mistakes gen 1 had . Also Pokemon Yellow drags the generation down a lot , the worst game in the series .

Out of all the Mon featured at 0:21, I like the Litwick line, Honedge line, Cofagrigus (That had potential to be part Steel in Gen 5 before the sickly sweet Fairy type made Steel lose its durability against Ghost & Dark.), Klink line, Magnemite line, Voltorb line (I especially like Electrode, fastest Electric type.) and Klefki (despite it being part Fairy, but I'm not only a sucker for Ghosts; I'm also a sucker for Steel, too.).

In my opinion Gen 6 is the best gen. I like the 3D art style and how beautiful the regions look as a result of it. It also has the best remakes ever in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Gen 4 Sinnoh is undisputed. While I'm a stan for Hoenn (and the remakes almost saved their generation for me), I see the problems with gen 3. I do think Sylveon gets far too much hate, but I like cute fairy looking things (favorite Galar 'mon is Rapidash, for example).

To me the worst gen is 5. Boring story, most pokemon designs suck and are copy pastes of old mons, with few cool exceptions, and people wont stop sucking its dick. I remember when it came out everyone hated it, and yet now its suddenly the best one? Nah

I will say Gen 6, 7, and 8 had some of the freshest Pokemon anime content. Twilight Wings is the best animation that Pokemon has ever put out (hard recommend, even to adults), the X and Y anime had Ash as a slightly growing protagonist, and the Sun and Moon anime was pretty cute and fun. Also I love Diamond and Pearl, but the pacing was rough in that game, and the gym leaders and enemies were absolute jokes until the elite 4. Plus Sun and Moon had Rainbow Rocket, and X and Y had the first wonder trade and decent online features, which was a lot of fun. I'd move gens 1 , 2, and 3 down if I was making this list, although gen 4 is probably still 1 or 2 in my eyes.

Gen 4 is the best because of the remakes from a gen 2 game, and I can somehow not disagree.
