Welcome to Odom Outdoors! I'm JD Odom. My wife Jenn and I have two great kids, Little JD and Katie. Come along with our family as we enjoy the outdoors in our home state of Florida as well as other locations. Fishing, spearfishing, lobstering and hunting are our main focus but we also spend time doing many other outdoor activities. Florida has endless opportunities to get outdoors and we love every minute of it! We also like to cook and we utilize whatever we catch/kill in the kitchen as well. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any of our adventures. Thanks and we hope you enjoy watching.

No idea when I’ll need this info but if I ever get held hostage and the guy says he’ll let anyone go who can clean a lobster I’m 1st in line :)
🤣🤣🤣
You doin to much just drop it in the boiling water
I’ll pass on that. Don’t want to eat the lobster poo.
@@OdomOutdoors so pull it out when it's cooked like shrimp
@@TheBernardPotter it’s a lot easier to just pull it out when you’re taking the heads off.
using the antenna to get the intestines out is genious

G9 makes a 145 grain woodsman round moving at 1450 fps...

Mi grand is spinning in her eternal home. Yor gravy cooken skill are Bloody well poor. Stick to huntin. get a cook . Thanks for the fam video.
Never once had a complaint before and I cook at a firehouse for 13 guys. If my cooking was off they wouldn’t hold back about it. Maybe you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Cute
How did you keep it open
That was my question! In my experience, they shut tight as soon as you touch them and you need the thin knife to open them back up.

We put the scallops on ice for a few hours before we clean them. They open up when they get cold. It makes the cleaning process much easier. A small thin knife works on the stubborn ones that refuse to open. Hope that helps.
@@OdomOutdoors That does help! Thanks for the reply! 😊
She kinda thick
Damn she thick 🥵🥵🥵
Best when fried.
Fried is good but we like them in fettuccine Alfredo or ceviche.
may i lay on those thunder thighs?
Being a guy from the city, i really enjoyed this video!
Glad you enjoyed watching. Thank you.
Gone fishing. Watching y'all from Minnesnowta!
Thanks for watching
I call them sand crabs and I catch them by just reaching my hand In the sand and grabbing anything hard
Sand turtle is the name we called it and it's not papano it's papio dumb AZZ houlez, Hawaii in the house
Do they bite
Nope. Completely harmless to people and they are fun to catch.
Cool praying mantis
Thanks
"Some friends and I ..."
I knew when I posted it someone would say something about that but I didn’t feel like re recording the voiceover. Thank you for not disappointing.
@@OdomOutdoors Anything for a friend.
Florida keys?
Venice Florida actually. Lots of good fossil diving there. Next time I’m bringing a fishing rod though.
The weed of deceit
“Sargassum” Seaweed? What would it be called if collected off the Oregon coast? 🤣 Do you reside in Florida, the Caribbean, or are you a cruising sailor. I used to do similar studies on the kelp forests off the West Coast of the USA 🇺🇸 & Canada 🇨🇦. 😎
We are located in Florida. The sargassum we have here isn’t found in the pacific ocean but I believe there is a similar species thats over there.
See not touch.. right
Nope. We like to interact with wildlife. They are all released back into to clump of weeds we found them in when we are done though.
You’re killing the fish you’re mean😢
As long as they're released back with the sargaasum they'll head back to it
No. The little fish and other creatures that we find in the weeds are released in the same clump of weeds they were found in.
Okay where do you live?
We live in Florida but there is sargassum or similar type weeds found around the world in tropical climates.
lil peep song
weren't you scared to snorkelling? There are alligators, right? At least on your video was a small one but weren't you scared that some big beast could be somewhere there?
Any body of water in Florida can and probably does hold alligators. Most of the time they aren’t really a threat to people. That being said, there are places that I consider it relatively safe to swim and places that I would never swim. Rainbow river is definitely on the safe to swim list for me.
I grew up 20 minutes away from KP hole where they launched at. Alligators are everywhere in Florida but they don't mess with people except in rare instances. In 26 years living there the only animal that scared me were water moccasins. They are just as venomous as they are aggressive.
what holster were you using?
TR holsters. Mine is built for a pistol with a light but they will build them however you want. Good product.
They don’t grow bass that big up north here in Wisconsin! A 5 lb here is like a 10+ down in Florida.
For sure. A “trophy” is different depending on the area of the country you live in.
Fabulous! How beautiful and calming. Looks like the kids had a blast! Never really considered fresh water diving. COOL!
Thanks
No hearing protection bruh?
The kids and wife all had hearing protection on but I was out of earmuffs. Probably should have had it on myself but it was just one shot.
@@OdomOutdoors I wear hearing aids today because we never wore hearing protection back in the day. I hunt with my 10mm all the time it's loud. Go get yourself another pair. Stay safe
@@Dems-suck will do. Thank you.
Son almost boo boo’d his pants first shot. 😭 welcome to hunting my boy!
🤣 Yes he did.
Awesome hunt and cook! What brand are those electric salt and pepper grinders? I'd buy them with an affiliate link lol
Thank you. I forgot the brand name of them but they were expensive and we don’t really like them that much. I got them on a friends recommendation. For the money I think there are cheaper ones on Amazon that are just as good though.
Beautiful! Thank you for your hard work! 🦅 ♥️
Thank you. It was a cool experience.
Love how you added the cooking into the hunting video. Could learn more on that
Thank you. We really enjoy the cooking aspect of whatever we get during our outdoor activities.
Awesome hunt alot around, curious how far that sig fmj penetrated or if it exited at some point, I do know that the Sig 10mm elite fmj is loaded to real 10mm velocities/standards.
I never found the bullet but to be honest I didn’t look for it. I was definitely satisfied with its performance though. It obviously did the job. Good affordable hot FMJ ammo.
