Pacat de el. A murit la aceeași vârstă pe care o am acum. Era un strălucit om politic. Am citit o cărticică a sa prin anii '90 la Biblioteca Județeană Argeș. El si Eminescu au demonstrat științific că sistemul de drept românesc în materie succesorală duce în mod perpetuu la sărăcirea poporului din cauza fărâmițării proprietății aflată în masa succesorală a lui decuius, prin dezbaterea succesiunii, dezbatere în urma căreia de regulă fiecare ia o parte, rezultând astfel nerentabilitatea microfermei rămase. Mentalitatea poporului român în acest domeniu este net inferioara de ex Regatului Unit, Tarilor de Jos, chiar și Israelului. De consemnat.

@Allthatyoutouch Fine, but the thing is, only two things about Jesus should matter to everyone. His life and His teachings. How He looked, how He spoke, His features do not matter. I don't think Powell was chosen to portray Jesus based on any belief or consideration in a particular way our Lord spoke. Powell spoke with a British accent simply because he's British and had to be true to himself in his portrayal.

I can't recall anyone though I may be wrong calling their son Judas, I have always felt sorry for him because because God is all knowing and yet he was the one chosen to do the deed that was necessary for the birth of Christianity! these things didn't happen by chance

To be honest, I can't disagree with you! If his betrayal of Christ was motivated by hate, he would have sought ways to lay hands on Jesus himself after being chosen, right from the start without even the help of the Pharisees. As recorded in scripture, it was not until Jesus said one of them would betray Him and gave Judas the bread dipped in soup and told him to be quick about it that he sought ways to betray Jesus. Furthermore, I'm not sure Jesus would even have chosen him in the first place as He knows the future and would surely have known Judas was that evil if that was the case. Yes, it's recorded that Judas was a thief, no doubt! As he was appointed treasurer, he would often steal from the bag funds for his selfish benefit but if Judas was bad, then the Pharisees were worse because they, as it's written "rejected God's plan for their lives". They had evil motives right from the start. They felt Jesus was against the Law Of Moses when He clearly stated that He didn't come to abolish but to fulfill. They sought to trap Jesus in His words so they could accuse Him, on multiple occassions. They accused Him of breaking the old sabbath, (which He did, but He did good. He healed the sick and taught people in the synagogues). That's why Jesus didn't even waste time on them but concentrated on the lost sheep of Israel (even though he answered them whenever they came to Him with questions and even went to the house of Simon to feast upon invitation), and even some Gentiles who came to Him for "crumbs" believing in Him. That's why He condemned them because though they were experts in the Law, they had hearts of stone. And when they conspired against Him and eventually had Him crucified, they where unrepentant though that can't be said of Joseph of Arimathea. But Judas regretted betraying Jesus who was innocent, and went to the Pharisees expressing remorse but they didn't even care. He even returned the money they paid him for the act. It's just that he should have repented like Peter, instead of committing suicide. Sure Jesus called him a devil at one point but I'm sure it was because he was the one to eventually turn Jesus in. Let's face it, like i said, if he really was a devil, would Jesus have chosen him to be part of the twelve, well how would we have known? But I personally don't think so. Why? Because as it's written, God is not the author of confusion! So in conclusion, I feel sorry for Him too. And who even said he was the only person called Judas during his time? It's likely there were more men with the same name. Please forgive the lengthy post. Peace!

They forget that Jesus was also flogged. Many people who suffered flogging died from blood loss and shock. The Romans used whips that had peices of sharpened bone or metal embeded into the ends of the whip. They were made to rip the flesh from the bone. Jesus would have been seriously injured already, remember that Simon of Cyrene carried the cross to Golgotha becasue Jesus could not, he would have been to weak from being flogged and unable to carry the cross himself. Then he was crucified on top of this. Therefore Jesus dying in six hours is a very reasonable time frame. Also people who died by cricifixion did not die from exposure, but from suffication by exhaustion. The way the body was placed on the cross with the arms nailed through the wirsts outstretched and the feet nailed whether toghether using one nail or apart using two would not have made any difference. The whole point of the position was the person who was crucified would have to use his legs to push his body up to inhale and back down again to exhale. Obviously with blood loss, excruciating pain and exhaustion this could only be kept up for so long. It is why the Romans broke the legs of the two theives crucified with Jesus to take them down before the Sabbath at the request of the Jewish leaders, this would have killed them both quickly as neither one of them would have been able to use their legs to push their bodies up to breathe. But do not take my word for it, do some research on crucifixion for yourself if you like. Also the nails would have been through the wirsts, not the hands. If the nails were put through the hands the body weight of the victim would have caused him to fall off and the nails to rip right through the hands. Another bit of history on this, The Romans did not crucify women as it was thought too barbaric a pushinment for women. Strangulation was the prefered method of execution for women by the Romans.

I don't like the plot of the story. They didn't follow the Bible story. The actor portrayed Jesus as a man of anti-Semitic influence trying to do away Moses fundamental teachings instead of bridging the gap that caused the people to lose track of the real teachings. The epic was mastered based on the Roman catholic version.
Not really, it looks more Protestant to me. If it was properly Roman Catholic it should have focused on specific verses wich support Roman Catholic faith. But to be honest any movie of Jesus life doesn't bring justice to the gospels. Even so the movie still had a strong impact on me and I'm Shure it had on other people.
the whole plot made Moses an enemy of Jesus which opposed to the real biblical story. The reality is, Jesus was a Jew and therefore followed Jewish custom as what he said in Mt5:17 that he would never depart even if the heaven disappeared from above. But in the movie, he was portrayed as a liberator of slaves from out of the yoke of bondage brought on by the oppressive rules of Moses instead of the Pharisees who transformed Moses law into a burdensome. Mt23 Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples: 2 “The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So practice and observe everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Even his appearance I would say no man in those times wore long hair with distinctive piercing blue eyes to remind that he is the Christ. The National Geographic constructed the real face of Jesus from out of the skull of an ordinary man who contemporaneously existed during his period of time and came out exactly a man with no beauty in himself, dark skin and short which exactly fit in Isa53:2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. Powell looks like a gay man than Jesus.
