I have added about 30 new clips to 1964 and 65 clipisodes in the last week...the videos are out there and I have even looked through the 1200 videos of John1948.
Hat tip to Mohammed Alami Ouahabi for taping this rare video of AB.

@sauquoit13456 11 years ago On this day in 1968 {March 23rd} Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart performed "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Three months earlier on December 23rd, 1967 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #8 and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100...
THE ALLEY OOP CAVEMEN: oddly, this was not filmed in California for American Bandstand.

Dick Clark talks about this film in episodes of American Bandstand concerning Sonny and Cher songs. This taping was in California but was shown on the Beechnut Saturday Night program in NYC.
1966: The Happening, the Lake Calhoun episode of American Bandstand, included 5 stairsteps.

Havent been able to nail down the exact date of this episode. "This is filmed at Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis... go check out The Happenings singing, "See You in September" on UA-cam. Same location, same kids, same set-up." (comment)

Hey, Good Morning Rayford. I found your content on UA-cam while looking for something for a friend. I am looking for a particular Rate a Record episode from 1981. I did not scroll through all your videos which appear to be from the 60's. How did you find these? Do you know where I can find later episodes?
Look on my playlists for rate a record, I have everything that is available for 1957-70, but 70s and 80s I probably dont have. They can be found at Americanbandstandagain or Adam Curry, both on youtube. Otherwise, you have to go thru other people's playlists to see if you can find it...keep in mind 99% of what they say is American bandstand turns out to be Beechnut Sat nite or some other program.
@@RAYFORDHENDERSON-dc2op Thanks Ray, I'll keep on looking. I have a friend who had a song of his played on rate a record that's why we want to find that particular episode.
@@RenaWitter WHICH ONE IS IT?
The WTAE Roof Top is actually in Pittsburgh.
wow! so why would they film there?
@@RAYFORDHENDERSON-dc2op The Skyliners are originally from the Pittsburgh area.
@@JosephPratt1986 They are one of my fave doo wop groups!
Nice! 1967 is probably my favorite year for American Bandstand.
Cool! Ready to click away! lol
Such nice, clear close-ups! Was that Lauren at about 1:08? With the long hair and bangs? Not sure who Becky is.
YES THATS LAUREN AT 1:08, BECKY IS THE THUMBNAIL PIC.
I'm a 1960s music fan and I've never heard of Ronnie Dove or his songs. For Dick Clark to say his song Right Or Wrong was big was a lie
"Die hard lover"
I wish someone can post all american bandstand performances from 1958 to 60 and watch every performance by every artist.
I may have every clip and episode of American Bandstand 1964 ready by day's end...it will be a series of playlists on a single page. YOutube does not allow putting playlists within a playlist so this is the only way it can be done. There will be about 30 seperate entries, but 1964 has the most video content.
rilly faR OUT!!!!!!!!
I remember this show as a kid Sometimes my older sister would watch As you see he would give each person a few seconds to show their dance moves than give them a shove out of the way for the next person On one occasion he shoved a lady wearing heels and she nearly fell down He was a jerk
yeah looked too aggressive.
Interesting 🤔 Didn't know this
"it isnt fair!" whatta song to begin the story...teen angst for the next 75 years.
Hello. Is this title BGM (from 0:00 to 0:21) the theme song for Upbeat (TV program)? I've been wondering about it for a long time. It's really cool. Do you know the name of the song? Can you tell me?
I dont think I've ever heard that and I'm thinking its probably something from a local band that didnt make it ...ergo no royalties to pay.
@@RAYFORDHENDERSON-dc2op Thank you for your reply. Sorry. I have no intention of pursuing royalties. I wanted to know about this song because the title BGM was a very cool song. It's a local band. Thank you for uploading it!
They had a good sound!
Pretty snazzy looking guys! Wouldn't that be fun to be known as the guy who sang "oh baby", lol.
Interesting stuff. I'll have to watch that documentary.
Really interesting to hear these kids' opinions! And there is cute Peggy and so many other nice-looking teens.
Yes, Karen White, Peggy, Martha Favela, Jean Stamos, Pat Moriarity,
Lol, that's funny. But a good way to work around the dilemma!
They all sound dreamy!
Bandstand audiences obviously were not representative of Americans as a whole because if they were the Beatles would've faded out in the US in 1965
"I'm Fallin' Down!" I love that song! Do you have any idea where I can find a video of Lesley Gore's full performance? I absolutely love that lady, thank you for posting!
There is a website that claims to have both American Bandstand episodes at willow grove, but I cant say that they do just search willow grove and American bandstand to find it.
@@RAYFORDHENDERSON-dc2opHmm, not sure if they do or not either. Thanks for replying all the same.
Cool! And Jackie DeShannon is dressed so modestly and doesn't gyrate around like today's female singers. I actually saw her in concert in the early 70s. I think she opened for The Association.
Just watched a Bandstand documentary from the 90s featuring Arlene and all the originals. It was so interesting!
The start of the Beatles music revolution. Interesting that in this particular episode they featured a music act that represented the past It's like the #1 album at the start of 1964 ,The Singing Nun being De- throned by the album Meet The Beatles
The last guy introduced was the best dancer of the group
Crazy cool dancing 🤘 The guy on the right end had the Twist down .The others didn't seem to be even trying
60's Bandstand was da bes!!
The 80's were so much fun. Always watched American Bandstand on Saturdays if I was home.
A time in life when girls were girls and women were women. A beautiful time
Ummm nope sorry thats not it
Once ABS Left Philadelphia, it wasn't worth watching.
Jenny and famous Hooks!
September 28 1963?
yes, right after the Russian interview.
I was born December 22, 1981, so it’s funny to go back and look at stuff. I was only four days old 😊
I’m glad I know how to dance 😂
I remember those days. Hell all my brothers and sisters could dance way better😂👀
Famous Hooks!
When teens were respectfull and not the nasty little brats that we have today
The brunette sure looks older than 14! Must be the makeup and hairstyle.
Iron City House Rockers were a local Pittsburgh band playing in bars. I'm surprised they were on this show.
Yes the guitarist's brother was my art teacher in elementary school. The Iron City House Rockers also performed on Solid Gold
I turned 20 in 1981, I was born in 1961. Wow, a long time ago, LOL. I used to watch this show.
I turned 20 in 1979 and I used to watch Bandstand too. That is until Soul Train blew it out of the water. 🚆
Excellent!
Imagine as an American finding out Tobacco Road by The Nashville Teens is not American . I want to sing Ferry Cross The Mersey and call my group Tower of London
I hear that!!
Good evening my friend I was born in 1955 to I was 11 yrs old when i first seen them at CKLW TV channel 9 to They was great in their era of music 🎶🎶 to Today's music 🎶 is like garbage to Am still listening to this music in august of 2024 to ❤❤❤❤
Around 1972, I had 2 older sisters who never missed watching AB and mentioning Rick (one of the dancers). I remember the Tavares song "Heaven must be missing an Angel" being played about the same time. Would you know or have a video of Rick?
Our local band from our Wyoming Valley in N.E. Pa
WHAT A GREAT SOUND EVEN FOR THAT TIME!
Funny that the first LA show, would air the day before the Beatles Ed Sullivan appearance. 😊
that is odd, but I remember classmates in high school taking 35 mm pics of the screen on Ed Sullivan and selling the pics of the Beatles at school.
