Ridge Motorsports Park 2008 Mazda MX5 1:56:750
Back at Ridge after a long hiatus. Busy summer so haven’t had as much time to drive as I would like. First event back in the MX5 since catastrophic clutch failure sidelined the car for a while after the last track day. This lap was from the hottest session of the day and the only session I was able to put down a flying lap. Was the hottest track temps of the day so I know I could have bested my previous PB (1 tenth away.) Overall just wanted to make sure the car was reliable more than anything and had no issues all day. I believe I’m starting to find the limitations of the stock LSD. Not sure if that’s from the tires though, as I’m not sure I’m too fond of the RE71RS. Guess time will tell once I get a new set of tires. Thanks everyone for watching!

Final PNW Trackday of the 2023 season ended on a high note. Managing to drop into the 54s was huge for me. I told myself to push a little harder and the Civic delivered. Not half bad for a 177k mile stock engine and drivetrain FWD Sedan. Sad the track season is over but excited to work on some more developments with the car. See everyone next year! Long time coming getting the Civic back to the track. Car went through a lot of changes visually and setup wise. Finally feel it’s close to the vision I had when I first got the car. First ever outing in the newly completed Rēshingu Neko MX5. To say this car surprised me was an understatement. Going into the weekend I thought lap times would be around the 2 minute mark but managed to go almost four seconds faster than that! Only 6 tenths off my best time in the Civic. Quick exhaust video of my 2007 Si with stock K20Z3, bolt ons, and tune. Car has PLM header with test pipe and Full Race 3” exhaust. Nice and quiet just driving around normally but has a great tone when ripping on it. Zero rasp and the drone isn’t bad at all on the highway.

New PB at the Ridge Motorsports Park for the Civic! So close to 55’s car definitely has the ability to do that and even faster. Just a matter of me stringing a good lap together with good track conditions. Bonus laps with my buddy DJ’s S2000. Our cars have very similar pace.

First thanks for a great video! What all did you do for weight reduction? I see the seats removed but also seems like roll bar and stuff would add weight. Also any complaints on the brake setup? I’d like to do a brake upgrade like this. Wondering if the front brakes would clear a stock 07 rim.
Rear interior was removed, car was about 2780lbs in this configuration. I've since done more reduction nut haven't weighed yet. Brake setup feels great. Unsure if it'll clear stock Si wheels though.

I wanted an opinion, I sold my old Volkswagen and I want to fulfill my wish of having a Honda! , in my country Brazil, the price of the Civic 8 generation with the 140 horsepower R18 engine and the Fit 2 generation with the 116 horsepower 1.5 engine are very similar, which would be the best choice? honda fit 2 or civic 8? @@vicentejuniiior I much prefer the L Series engines found in a Fit than the R18 found in 8th Gen. Fit would be my pick. Also smaller and easier to drive on the tighter Brazil streets.

Besides cold air intake and full exhaust, yes. Stock tune still.

yo how did you get to -4.5 degrees in the front? I have BC's and I max out the camber plates, I also double up on maxed out eccentric camber bolts and I'm only hitting like -2.8 degrees. Are fortune auto top hats not limited by the strut towers in terms of camber adjustment? Or you got any other methods for getting extra camber. Thanks!
The top holes that connect the coilover to the knuckle are elongated allowing more camber adjustment. Think of the bolt hole being an oval vs a circle.
@@reshinguneko2355 Oh word. That’s nice if they come from fortune like that. Never had any issues with your adjustment slipping? I guess I’ll just take a carbide burr to mine and extend the hole.

I wouldn't with the new exhaust laws there. Anything other than factory they can tow your car basically, at minimum will write a ticket
