When you split the startup and shutdown sounds, did you use the truncated 22.05KHz wave files from the Windows/Media folder or the uncompressed 44.1KHz wave uploads that the Windows XP music composer Bill Brown provided on his SoundCloud account? And sidenote, would you ever consider splitting the elements from the music tracks that Bill also did for the Windows XP Tour which he uploaded in the 44.1KHz stereo wave masters to SoundCloud? The Notify sound is a sample from the "Best for Business" track, while the Battery Low and Critical Stop sounds are sampled from the "Unlock the World of Digital Media" track.
