97 Pt Delight! 2020 Malescasse - Drink Like Royalty
Please, I just need one thats very Smooth. Not like alcohol.
Caymus is for kids
May be wine is making you look sweet
You look very cute
Spare me. The only wine that is not good is the one you as the drinker don’t like. Palates are different, and one is not necessarily better than the other. I know Nebbiolo makes wonderful wines, but I am not a fan, and I am not going to tell people who like it they are suckers who are paying too much.
Do you make rice wine? SAKE?
Dude, to make your lies more palatable and believable you need to work harder on your outfit. Drop the cap and try to wear a suit and a cravat. And yeah, shave your face, b/c right now you look like a small time crook.
Acumen is amazing indeed!
Caymus is a good wine, like candy.
3:38 drinks the last sip of Caymus and seems to tolerate it well, just after he just mentioned that he hated it and found it undrinkable. Just seems like something personal happened and he's taking this opportunity to shit on the brand. Why would you bother drinking the last sip if you despise the wine so much? Seems like there is something more to this story...
I got the same vibe! What's with that...instantly distrust this company
I love how jealous wine critiques people are of caymus. Everyone of them shit on it without acknowledging how successful the brand is. Just haters hating!!! The best wine is the one YOU like. Dont listen to ahole haters.
Hi @davidcaple6521 You don't know me so not sure why you have such a aggressive, negative attitude. I'm happy to acknowledge the success of Caymus family of wines. If you look at the comments here you'll see there are many, many wine lovers who are disappointed in how the Caymus brands have changed over time, and not in a good way. The wines are terribly sweet and not worth the price. I also disagree with you 100% that the "best wine is the one you like." That's like saying there is no such thing as a perfectly ripe tomato that has a balance of sugar and acid and an unripe tomato that has no flavor. Good and bad wines exist. Objective markers of quality exist.
Couldn’t agree with you more! Caymus is over rated, a wine for people with more money than sense. Not to be paired with food, tastes like a vanilla milk shake due to the over-manipulation in both color and oak.
I drank some Caymus years ago and I thought I liked it but couldn’t remember. For the last few years, I have been drinking a lot of southern Rhône, Bordeaux and Rioja’s and a friend came by with a bottle of Caymus. I drank a glass out of respect for my friend, but it tasted like a sweet glass of manufactured grape juice. I couldn’t believe it. My memory of it was totally off or I was used to drinking actual wine that was subtle in its flavor versus a huge sugar bomb.
Californiacation. I used to buy the Caymus for $12.00 @ a Fred Meyers store in Totem Lake, Wa. Back in the early ‘90’s. Beautiful days of wine availability! Piedmontese Neb’s too! Shits crap now. Very sad the future has become.
Yeah, inflation hits everything including wine. Although Napa Cab prices have gotten out of control, wines like Piemonte Nebbiolo are still very reasonable priced - often $20-40 for very good wines from top producers. There's still a ton of value wine regions if you know where to look, and if you have a friend in the wine biz - which is what BHW is. It's what we've done reliably well for thousands of clients for 15+ years.
I think the QR thing is awesome but to add a huge list of ingredients to a wine label will ruin the look of the label. I don't think that the average person believes wine is in any way shape or form healthy for them and of they do, they need to educate themselves on the subject. Take Resveratrol for a minute. Resveratrol comes from the grape skin as well as blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and peanuts. The amount of Resveratrol received from wine is so little, you would have to drink literally gallons of wine in order to gain the benefit. As far as America eating or drinking healthy again, hopefully Kennedy get the position he is looking for and helps us out.
Hey bro, have you tried Brilliant Mistake Cabernet Sauvignon b4?

Can't agree more! I had a bottle of Bordeax pomerol 2015 clos du clocher, elegant, and silky. Then a bottle of Caymus. The Caymus was disgusting 🤢, tasted cheap, artificial, over manufactured. And they have the nerves of charging 100 usd! Couldn't finish it. Had to discard it and Never bought it again!
Couldn't agree more. That's why we sell Clos du Clocher and NOT Caymus
Agree 💯 % do a blind wine tasting, and then I would see your value.
We will try to organize a blind tasting
Caymus isn't that bad, but I can say it's overpriced...
But Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon was recommended by “The Last of Us”! It can’t be all bad! 😜
BSitting here crushing a bottle of Emblem… the perfect response
Yeah, but where the hell am I gonna find this one? We have to drink what’s available to us. Be happy with what you got. Yeah, it might not be a great wine tonight but next time who knows?! That’s what wine drinking is all about…
Hi, we sell a lot of top rated wines in our online store. Please check it out: bighammerwines.com
Try Chaix from Rutherford
No way you can trust this loser 👎🏽
I would take bonanza any day compared to Caymus
We'd prefer you to seek out non-grocery store brands
I’m subscribing because you gave a honest opinion of Caymus which most people refuse to do!
Thank you.
Get Bonanza cab. The poor man’s Caymus
Even better, seek out a reliable merchant who can guide you to non-grocery store brands
😊
Lol
Caymus is great. Idk what y'all talking bout
Listen what the man says. Righteous Truth. I would have preferred a blind tasting.
I would like to see you note the price point of each bottle you showcase.
I tried Caymus. I paid about 80.00 for the bottle. It was a big disappointment. I have the best luck buying good vintages in the 25.00 to 40.00 price point in Cab wine and its mostly on the money good!!!
Caymus is amazing lol
Just tells me you have a taste that doesn't match my own. Good for you buddy. Grab your participation trophy on your way out.
Thank you for watching. You're correct, you have pour taste.
@@bighammerwineswow you do have a complex...
Thanks for sharing ❤ really helpful and you covered everything I needed to know.
stop crying already, hands down, caymus is smooth and good. if you have money issues, dont drink it. price point is where it deserves to be 80$.
No one's crying. People do want to get their money's worth. If you like over-extracted, high alcohol and significant levels of rs in your bottles then have at it. No need to shit on someone else who prefers more refined producers.
I think you missed the point. That wine at $20 isn't worth it because of the quality by way of comparison. If you've seen other comments, our quality analysis is hardly in the minority.
He is absolutely correct, this wine is grossly overpriced and with each year it gets worse and worse
In what world is caymus worth its price tag? Lol. If it was $20 bucks then yes
I agree. Caymus is great. It's only people who have budgetary constraints who will complain about it based on the price.
You should blind taste the wines prior to judging them.
We taste approximately 100 weeks per week since 2009. We're not operating an annual wine tasting competition to award medals. We run a business and make qualitative decisions every day. Our expertise far surpasses most of peers. But, sure just for fun, we might make a video tasting blind some wines some day.
Why do you spit 😂?
If you had to taste 20+ wines at a time, you'd spit too.
So he's not plastered by the end of the day
2019 IS THE FINEST VINTAGE OF THE DECADE
Agreed. I thought 2019 stood out quite a bit.
He made the same face when he tasted the Caymus, That I made when my neighbor bought me a bottle of Meomi For cutting her lawn. I love this guy. Even if he does have an agenda, he speaks the truth... People who drink and love Caymus Will be offended and people who know wine and are wine drinkers won't be. 🍷CHEERS🍷
@@richardbrowe9299 I think the overall is, if someone doesn't like red wine bc they have tried many in the past and they dislike it, Caymus is a great way to open their horizons. It's inoffensive (Meomi however VERY OFFENSIVE LOL). Is it great quality wine for those with more refined taste no, but it's a great start for those who are not well versed in wine.
@@mcp0y3".. inoffensive.." huh? It's horrible. My friend, you need to expand your horizons. There's absolutely nothing redeemable about Caymus.
@@gregoryscott5780 lol I promise my horizons are pretty expanded.
$90+/btl is hardly a "great start" for 99% of wine drinkers. Rather, it drives them to drink anything other than wine because the quality and value is so bad.
