My plugins are such a mess 😭
im useing the ableton trial and oh man these vst download go everywhere. i tried to install them on the D drive and yet it makes copies on the C drive. this video did get my vsts working.

one at a time?! You can select all plugins in the folder (ctrl-a) then right-click and create shortcuts for all of them at the same time

FL studio is so much better than this :( I dont even remember all the plugins I have scattered over multiple drives. This dosent work for me, is it wrong to put the same folder for both vst2 and vst3?
Sorry for the late reply, but I know the frustration. This was the best fix I could come up with with vst system folders being all messed up on my drive. I believe I have this method only apply to Vst2 plugins, as vst3 wont show up in ableton this way. I just have the " Use VST3 plugin system folders" on in Ableton and they all show up for me.
Great video! I've been thinking of doing this for years but never took the time haha! I love the idea of putting the pack name and developer in the file name. The thing that's stopping me from doing it is with old projects, Ableton likely won't be able to find the samples anymore if they've been renamed. Love your channel. Subscribed!
Yes! I should have added that before you move/rename files to click the "Collet all and save" option under the '"File" menu in any old projects that you want to look back on. Thanks for the support!
