McDonald Farm Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Doesn't the "old rusty iron pipe and rusty drums" effect the water and plants in a negative way?
The pigs fulfilled their ultimate purpose. From the look of it, they lived very good, happy lives, and I’m sure they were humanely dispatched and didn’t even see it coming. People are woefully misguided to think that any pig can be a forever pet. Ultimately, they belong as livestock and food.
Cool setup!
Are the white Wyandottes the same breed?
I love it! Thank you for sharing 😊.
Love the tour!
Just paint the pvc pipe or cover it with a hollowed limb with moss on it. I love the rusted metal having grown up by the ocean.
This is fantastic…I could take a nap listening to it….its beautiful ❤
That there is an old timey ninja cowboy throwin star!
I knew it!
Nice looking chickens
thanks!
Ola somos de Rio grande do Sul Brasil temos um canal no UA-cam Rancho wyandotte nos apaixonamos pela raça estamos começando com as cores que encontramos aqui ,vc envia ovos?
How to get the eggs
Looking good
Brings back memories of when Prince was a babe 🤣
Nicely done, my guy! Your pig, your house, your family, your rules. Don’t listen to the haters!
What breed?
These are Berkshires! They have amazing temperaments and insanely marbled pork
@@mcdonaldfarm2925 Berkshires have delicious chops and wonderful bacon, sausage. Chris Leigh's Wonder Pork from Rankin, Illinois sells Berkshire meat off his farms.
are they brooders?
Absolutely. A big mama found a little cactus patch to herself and snuck a hatch in on us last year. One must be diligent to collect eggs often. When we do that, we don’t have any brooding issues.
Wild Muskadine Grapes
Did y’all raft it?
Not yet!
Did you see them chickens?
Did you see the size of that chicken? 😂
Big mamas in the chicken run! Can be scary to collect eggs from under these giant hens! You could make a week of meals from them at this size though.

Are the white ones a special type?
So you fed a potbelly for 8 months for maybe 45 pounds of meat? Lmao just get real pigs my guy. Potbelly and kune kunes are pet pigs lol
Says the guy who’s obviously never owned a pig and knows nothing about farming.
If quail are big enough to eat, then so are bantam chickens, dwarf rabbits and any other small breed variety livestock. Bigger means more feed, heavier fencing, more destructive capability, heavier lifting during butcher and so on. Along with needing enough freezer space and those can stop working when the power quits. Like a few million americans are now dealing with still or again. Not to mention not all households that can raise their own livestock have many mouths too feed. I for one have no use for standard breed size meat rabbits, i don't need them that big and i don't want to handle breeders that big that i have to lift in and out of cages. So my adults are about 1.8kg/4lbs and the kits make 3-4 meals for me. Fits my situation right. So work with what fits you and makes the animals happy, some need a bigger group to be happy, smaller breed will make that possible for same weight of meat in the freezer.
You're not supposed to raise potbellies for meat. You raise them for fat to grind with deer, which is otherwise too lean to make a decent breakfast sausage.
Poor babies they want out
We have 108 acres they free range on. They are not confined all the time. We kept them inside for the day to get a good headcount and sort out our breeding stock vs birds to sell that year.
@@samantharodgers7280 Sounds good. I am learning as I go. My Rooster that I raised since a baby just started coming at me. I love him, so it's hard.
Lotta rain lately?
Not enough!
box cutters use box cutters
Ah of course!
Nicely done.
I think you guys are in over your head ..first clue was the wire used to fence small pigs that can walk through the spacing 😂😂😂...second was it was entirely to hot to butcher hogs 😂😂😂..third you didnt wash and scub dirt before skinning 😂😂😂..why risk contamination of your meat by not washing and scrubbimg ..you guys would be more comfortable with wal mart pork ..just sayn
We ate that pork a year ago brother, didn’t know being in over my head would feel so good…
@@mcdonaldfarm2925this is like saying you have to wash a deer or cow and I’ve never in my 21 years of existence heard of to hot to butcher
What of Kinda pigs in New pasture
Purebred berkshires. They were processed in September 2023 and weighed about 300lbs each
Great question! Because our new piglets were on the way. Much better results with Berkshires.
Promo>SM 😣
It's really beautiful❤

I can’t say for sure because it’s my first harvest. Hoping to get more next year.

Thanks, they are flying this memorial day weekend, folks posting around Georgetown with swarms in there yards.
Purdy good lookin hive you got there. You reckon you'll boost that little swarm with a frame of brood to boost em?
I gave them the best 6 frames I salvaged from the trashed hive.
