Really ?! How much time did they spend together ?

I need the whole cast to just retell their stories cause she’s the only one irl who has and a lot of them contradict what the other cast members say. It’s annoying 😭

@@spookysins4784 i’m searching for it till i finished the 1rst season , but i didn’t find anything 😭 i know rachel bilson ( summer) did a sort of podcast about the o.c. With some of the main actors but i don’t think they explain what happened between them. I’d love to see a reunion of the cast anyway 🙈

Well from Luke drinking that it wasn't a big deal for him to be drinking. Also Ryan makes it sound like "you wanna make a mess out of your own life fine." Like sure, Lindsay didn't decide to drink, but Ryan always needs a reason to be right about everything if not for assuming that it was Marissa's fault when no one is at fault for drinking. Because no one asked Ryan to do anything about it when he didn't need to.

Trey was a true badass, not like volchok. Though he was a bit harder than Ryan since he served time, trey cares almost as much as his little brother, would of backed him up here for sure.

They shouldn't have fixed things onwards though. Because I feel like if Ryan's life was less messed up then he wouldn't need to blame Marissa for anything at all. Because I was never a fan of ryissa since they broke up and Marissa moved on to be with someone that she loves a lot and that is Alex.

Marissa is not exactly a very popular character. I guess you just have to deal with it. Would help her popularity if she wouldn´t be so damn passive and weak about literally anything.

That's an excuse! She came from a privileged background but lacked integrity. People like her ruin themselves and others.

@@critical_analysis You clearly have no understanding or sympathy for people with depression and poor mental health or of the terrible toll addiction can take on a person. I'm not excusing all of Marissa's behaviour however I am stating people are being to hard on her. Like you, they are acting like she is just a spoiled party girl who just wants to have a good time and doesn't know when to stop. However it isn't. She is depressed and doesn't know how to deal with her negative emotions, so she buries them in drink and drugs. Her privileged background is irrelevant. Rich people can suffer from depression too.

@@NarnianHogwart Just to clarify, I am always sympathetic towards people who learn from their mistakes and put earnest efforts to overcome issues. The basic traits which differentiate a human from animals are his self-control, discipline and learning from mistakes. Without these traits, we are no better than animals. Marissa was given numerous chances to redeem herself but she always had issues in controlling herself and ruined not only her life but also made life miserable of her loved ones. She was sent to therapists for treatment, had loving friends, a dedicated lover, a loving father and so on, but still she did not have the courage or strength to overcome her demons. Indulging in mindless and meaningless sex, cheating are no excuses for depression. Marissa is probably one of the shallowest mainstream TV characters without any interest or talents or any passion. She was always indulged in drugs, alcohol, and sex. She was academically poor, never had any interest in arts/sports/creative skills or any other skills for that matter but simply indulged in drugs, alcohol and sex. That is the reason you see even a person like Ryan who loved her unconditionally loses his temper and states that she ruins everything. I always look up to people who rise to the top without any support and overcome tremendous odds because of their strength of character. Everyone in this world has some issues, but we should strive to overcome those and become a better human, if we don't do that, then our lives become miserable and we make life hell for our loved ones.

That's of little comfort to a character like Ryan. He was trying lead a better life which Marissa almost destroyed more than once. The first time, deciding to cope with her problems through drinking, being too drunk to drive and having an open container in the car, which forced Ryan into a position of having to drive her home while he was on probation. The second situation, Oliver, and the way she neglected their relationship for him, and disregarded Ryan's feelings as jealousy. Yea, Seth didn't have his back either but his relationship with Seth is different to Marissa's. He was intimate with Marissa; physically, emotionally. Feelings were involved. Makes the abandonment/betray much, much worse. It wasn't intentional, but she dragged him down. His reaction here, although disproportionate to the immediate situation, is completely justified for the overall context of their relationship.

Marissa was straight as an arrow, she was just in a confused phase. AND she really wanted to stick it to mommy.

@@CheerfullyCynical829 I’ve seen all the scenes of these 2 and when Marissa was talking to her mother about Alex she was having such a hard time letting her know that she her girlfriend (aka she was having a hard time coming out). If she was doing it for the dumb reason u mentioned then she would’ve had no trouble telling her and “sticking it to her”. It clearly meant something. She bi plain and simple.

Ryan isn't blameless here. Because he let Lindsay to hang out with Marissa and no one told Lindsay to not keep on drinking alcohol tbh.

I think that a problem is that Marissa didn't understand how much trouble she caused for Ryan, and I think in some ways she was sheltered from worse troubles. That's not to say she didn't have problems at home, but I think Marissa growing up in an environment where consequences aren't dire, in the grand scheme of things, may have put people off from her character. Looking at Ryan, who didn't have a great home life, and probably had no advantages in his young life, it's easier to see his desire to change. It didn't help that Marissa got involved with troubled crowds, and she turned to booze and drugs. Even if she didn't want to be preppy and peppy like Taylor (who was masking horrible insecurities herself), that was not a wise move for her to make. Not everything was Marissa's fault though, as Julie was not a very good mother. And, I think Marissa needed more time to finally get serious help, but she was killed off before making a change.

@@Joe_Parmesan yeah exactly. just when marissa was going to work on a boat and getting a change in her life, she was killed off. she could’ve had great character development from there point onwards.
