Hiya, welcome to Ireland! Looks like you have nice sandy soil there which can make life a lot easier in times to come. I know with my family place we just had a slash hook/scythe and we used to just clear the land that way. Nice cheap way to get through the brambles, takes effort but very easy to pick up and store. Obviously when the birds aren't nesting etc. Great job on the levelling. Might be worth a look for you to join the local Mens Shed (there are womens sheds but they're not trades it's more a social club). Plenty of retired tradesmen there and you could pick their brains. You can build things in there and get some help. You would have to do your part obviously but they love helping someone out.
