Flying the Citation CJ4 into the 2nd highest public use airport in the continental US. This video shows the challenge navigating hazardous terrain as you proceed into a dramatic landing on runway 9. 😯👋👋👋👋👋
It's cool to see it from this angle.
Must be either private, or Embraer 175 .too low to the ground to be either Single aisle medium body, let alone a Wide Body.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😅🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Seemed a perfectly reasonable approach to me,
Oh a private jet
Is the camera on the engine cowling
Its in the Cockpit
Tpp cold for me. I'm staying here in the Monterey Bay area of California. But I've always enjoyed flying.
Loved flying into tex
It’s dangerous if you’re not prepared!
Aspen is great challenge.
Energy Management.
Did not appear dangerous to me. But I’m from these Colorado areas and I guess it doesn’t phase me much lol
Perfect rollout (w/o the AP). Nicely done.
Nice what plane was that?
Which part of the plane is it that we see at the bottom of the picture that is reflecting the city lights below ? Its amazing.
That's the nose right below the windshield
Very kool video... I felt like I was on the plane...
Great view
Awesome shot! Can I feature it? Credited on screen and with a link back!
You bet, thanks
Super cool, thanks for sharing! Colorado is incredibly beautiful
Outstanding landing!
Thanks a lot!
That’s a hell of a precise non-precision approach! You made that look incredibly easy and it’s definitely not! Great work!
OH OOF they sent you to land on 27. A pilots worst nightmare when flying to telluride! Because the have to turn around at the end and travel all the way back
Nice work. The CJ4 is a very powerful jet. Did not fly it a lot. Mostly M2 and CJ3+. I flew a CJ4 to Japan recently. Climbs like a rocket. ua-cam.com/video/ABDvNnOs7Aw/v-deo.htmlsi=4b3N7naUDFP753Ik&t=19 If you have not done already, please subscribe to my aviation channel and turn on notifications, so you will not miss any new videos. I did a subscription to your channel too. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
Thanks I subscribed and watched your linked video. Nice job and love your zoom-in highlights!
I thought it was an RC plane at first😂
Sameeeeee
cool!
🤷♂️ Why land now? There are so many beautiful mountains to fly over
That's a very scenic approach.
Great Video!! can i use this as part of my series? you will of course be credited in both the description and video ❤ Have a great day!
Absolutely. Thanks
Great video! can i use it as part of my video for a series im doing?? you will be credited in the video and description ❤ thanks!! 👍
Yes, no problem
Wow, you took her out of autopilot on downwind. Then, 180° of left turn. And then down to the ground like a baby. What an approach.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! Would you be okay with me featuring this in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!
Sure no problem
Thanks! I found it from Weekly Dose of Aviation!
Thanks for letting me know!
Looked routine to me.
Hello there, is it okay to feature this video in our new aviation Episode ? it will be credited ofcourse :)
Sure
@@richyj14 Thanks a lot :)
In VFR CAVU I have trouble thinking of the 27 approach as "challenging", let alone insane. Still this is a beautiful spot and a very pretty approach indeed. Thanks for sharing.
It isn’t. Just another 7,000 foot runway. I flew the 182 there a couple years ago. Clear sky and a light wind from the west. A 182 800 pounds under gross isn’t much of a challenge to land anywhere. Never did see any ski slope police for over flying the ski slopes.😒
tight left traffic hugging the ground...awesome job. 🛬
Plenty of $$ parked at the airport. A place for the wealthy to play.
I remember it well !
Where was this?
Awesome!
Nice
Landed there in A100 and B200 King Airs several times back in the late 80s. Back in those days, before all the explosive development, you could come right over Black Bear pass, a long, low-power glide at 140 KIAS and land straight-in if nobody was comin' the other way. Very steep descent but the King Air handled it w/ aplomb. The dip in the middle was MUCH bigger, then, so you had to chase the runway down and be _sure_ to be grounded before the runway started climbing. Always glad to be down, very exciting flying for sure. Followed by a week of skiing or driving / hiking the high country, loved being there. Takeoff in the A100 was like a carrier launch, great initial acceleration followed by lackadaisical climb. B200, lackadaisical acceleration but great climb once you passed the opposite threshold. The dip seemed to be helping acceleration, but once airborne, the runway followed you UP. It was rare to be higher that a couple hundred feet AGL before going off the cliff added a thousand feet (temporarily). Always thought I'd have to fly down the river canyon in a single-engine situation, probably for miles.
I came down Black Bear Pass in my side by side.... That was a thrill too... I may be out in my little ELSA this summer. I will definitely look forward to landing here. This is a towerless airport?
There is nothing "insane" about this landing. It was a standard downwind traffic pattern entry (left traffic), gear down abeam the runway, and a nice turn of (about 20 degrees of bank), with a perfect rollout on runway heading. Nice touchdown too. Perfect VFR with little or no wind. Who labels these videos? It's goofy and misleading to call this insane.
Very nice!
Beautiful, thanks 😊
I would not say crazy landing… it was perfect.
WOW !!!...I love it ! ♥
Clickbait This is a good normal approach at Telluride, you got to know what your doing but not crazy by any means
Looked perfectly fine.
Nice flying, Rich. I have never seen a CJ4 land RW27 ..... not for the faint hearted. Pilots who are not familiar with the airport won't appreciate this video. I have landed at TEX many times on both runways in a Saratoga. Coming in to R27, you have to be very careful to not get near the ski slopes straight ahead of you on the dwnwind or the Telluride police will be meeting you at the terminal. Be careful out there, folks.
And the Telliride police would do what for overflying a ski slope while landing?
If you buzz the slopes, they'll cite you.@@lawman5511
