Pawn Island by Waxamilion

I asked Waxamilion (@waxamilion), one of my favorite artists, if he would allow me to come up with a drum part for his amazing song, Pawn Island. He graciously allowed and liked it. I am thrilled to share it with you. Hope you enjoy. It's a wild ride, definitely the hardest song I have ever played.

Drum Solo in Honor of Neil Peart's Drumming
Переглядів 2,3 тис.5 років тому
Neil Peart, the very creative, talented, and legendary drummer of Rush, passed away a few days ago. Fr. Hyacinth Cordell, OP, a Catholic priest of the Order of Preachers, while on vacation at his family home, in January of 2020, here worked up a drum solo to honor Neil Peart's drumming. There are a few "odd" things to honor the odd time signatures Neil Peart used to play: at one point a high-ha...

This was fabulous!! I am a revert to Catholicism and a drummer. I thought I couldn’t do both and be devout. I am clearly wrong… I could def use a couple hundred lessons off you though Father!
Father, you rock! Your dedication to the craft is truly inspiring!
Very well done 👏
I love to listen this drumming ❤
This is beautiful! Thank you, Jesus, for this wonderful monk/musician. Help me to serve you with all my heart, Lord.

Siberano brought me here, and I actually just discovered primus yesterday!
This is dedicated to God’s call for us to follow Christ to the summit of the eternal Mount Zion. “You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to a judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a few covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks more graciously than the blood of Abel” (Hebrews 12:22-24). “And in the Spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal” (Revelation 21:10-11). “I press on toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).

Bravo sir
Awesome! Primus is my favorite band of all time! Tool is a close 2nd,hence the shirt.
In Nomine Primus ❤
Nailed it!!!
Wow! This is amazing! Music like Primus (Avantgarde, math-y, experimental) is really some of the best music on earth. If I was a theist, creating that sort of conception-breaking music would most defintely be my way of worshiping god.
This is such a good, creative way to spread the gospel. I love it. Also, that pocket is as clean as me after the blood of Christ
Thanks so much for the encouragement, Brother!
The drumming by Tim Alexander on John the Fisherman by Primus is brilliant (as it is on all Primus’s songs). This is the beginning of the song on drums, up until the verse starts. I’ll upload it soon on my Instagram account, which is my main platform. This is my first upload on UA-cam since my Instagram platform blew up (to my complete surprise). I dedicate this to St. John the Evangelist whom the Lord Jesus called from being a fisher at the Sea of Galilee to becoming a fisher of souls: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 1:19). The Lord wants us all to encounter Him, and from that encounter to use us in some way to draw others to Him and His mercy.
Tim Alexander is one of my biggest influences. I loved watching this video!
Yes!!!!
that was beautiful! thanks for sharing this with us!
Your amazing God Bless!
