I wouldn't class Lomax as an X-Factor player but it is a good signing.

@@RugbyLeagueHistory I think this year he took a big step towards being an x factor player as winger.

They did the same thing in 1999 when they finished as minor premiers. Seems to be a bit of a trend.

@@RugbyLeagueHistory it is a massive understatement but all things considering we didn't get the spoon & managed to jump bunnies , if we had finished 17th I wouldn't be so optimistic not many teams who get their coaches sacked mid year manage to do much better but no excuses for the year we have had us parra fans deserve better

Unless Cronulla can do a Canterbury-Bankstown of 1967 then yeah it looks like Penrith are in another grand final.

They have said a few times that Penrith have a massive fanbase especially since they have started winning and nearly all the game are sold out. I remember when they weren't winning and there were plenty of empty red seats on the telly every time they played a home game. I also base it off experience, crowd figures etc. Take for instance in 2018, Penrith played New Zealand Warriors at Stadium Australia in the elimination final, just over 17,000 turned up. A year earlier, Parramatta played North Queensland in the elimination final at the same venue, yet 44,000 attended.

@RugbyLeagueHistory yeah panthers is a smaller fan base, parra is one of the biggest syd club fan bases. When penrith weren't doing well it was 11-12k at games now it's 18-22k if penrith keep winning though their fan base is going to continue to grow, winning Premierships does that. I just haven't heard any media make out like our fan base is big to huge.

Yeah they could. Actors do it all the time in films with accents etc.

@@RugbyLeagueHistory true, I suppose if they can be taught to have a Geordie or Scouse accent, they can be taught to have a Teesside accent. Just I have never heard that. But I would love to see someone do that, yes

@@warehou3217 I do remember they were asked to join Super League but remained loyal to the ARL. I have a feeling if they had gone to Super League they would still be around today.

@@jaifosterr Ever since they first played finals I can only recall once or twice where they got battered in finals or didn't play the full 80.

I think they could potentially. It happened to North Sydney four times in the 1990s albeit that were preliminary finals. More recently, Parramatta had a real problem of getting past the second week in the finals.

I think this game will be another close one.

I guess most content creators all have horrible takes then because everyone is pretty much tipping the same teams. I've only seen 1-2 people tip Sydney Roosters or Cronulla for example.
