My brother and I cut our teeth on cars in the early 1980's working on cars like the Escort MK2, Mini, Fiesta MK1, Granada MK2 and Marina to name a few. In those days you used to go to a garage, get them to tell you whats wrong with it, then fix it yourself after a visit to the local scrap yard. Money was tight then, to keep a car on the road when you earned next to nothing you had to do it yourself. I guess it stuck as my cars never go into the garage because I'm still a bit of a tightwad. These days with the internet there is a wealth of information out there for the home mechanic at your finger tips. My aim is to bring you simple video tutorials that will give you the confidence to have a go. At this moment in time we have a 2012 Toyota Yaris, 2007 Renault Clio II, 2005 Nissan Micra, 2003 Honda Civic and lastly a 2003 Ford Fiesta MK6. Any routine maintenance or faults on these and I'll be posting a video up.
Toyota Yaris 2012 Front Disc Pads Replacement
No Haynes Manual for this 3rd generation UK model. I had to pay to view the repair manual at toyota-tech.eu to get the correct torque values.
I decided to buy the Toyota brake pad kit 04465-YZZDS as the car is still in warranty. Its probably a £100 plus job at the dealers so well worth doing it to save some cash.
Slide Pins - TMMF type caliper (as shown in this video) - 28Nm torque.
Slide Pins - TMC type caliper - 34 Nm torque.
Wheel Nuts - 103 Nm torque.
