    Thanks for highlighting this important discussion! As someone who has firsthand experience at Auto Glass Week and voiced my concerns, I couldn’t agree more about the issues this event presents. Last year’s poor performance, with noticeably low foot traffic, clearly showed the bad value it offers. To make matters worse, giving away free tickets to sponsors not only dilutes the event’s value but also undermines the integrity of the entire experience for paying attendees. This isn’t just about high costs-Auto Glass Week’s restrictive policies for non-sponsors make it impossible for small businesses to properly network. Paying nearly $2,000 only to be barred from wearing your own logo or handing out business cards? That’s not an industry event-it’s an exclusive club for those willing to pay up. Let’s call it what it is: "Window Tint and Car Wrap Week," because less than 30% of the show is actually focused on Auto Glass Replacement. Auto glass shop owners and technicians are paying high fees for an event that doesn’t serve their needs. The truth is, the event organizers seem more concerned with profit than delivering real value to the auto glass industry. I’m happy to debate her live on this point.     I met Zach and Chris several years ago. I have watched them grow, and add locations. If you think you might need help with your AGR business, (day to day management, making sure you are doing jobs that are profitable, investing back into your business, ETC.) Reach out to him. I wish I had a company like this when I ran my business back in the 90's.

    I also agree with your statement that her dual roles is not a conflict of interest. If you look at most of the trade shows in the remodeling industry, you will see most are organized by an individual or group with the same dual roles.

      Perphaps you should go back to 7:50 and listen to the opinion and questioning of not only a dual-role, but more than that. This goes beyond just an industry trade-show but the almost complete domination by a single entity for the industry. The possibility for conflict of interest is certainly high when you look at the entirety.

    I think you were spot on to say you can take it or leave it. If you don’t think the show is worth it, then don’t attend. If it wasn’t a good product, they wouldn’t be able to afford to keep it going. I personally think the show has risen to a whole new level in recent years.

    The free passes are a benefit to the exhibitor to make sure your customers have an extra reason to attend. Not that it’s needed, for this show. All part of the value for $5k. And for the record, the cost of the show and what you get for the money, it is truly a value. The items included in your booth cost blow away all the other trade shows we exhibit at.

      There should be no "extra reason" for a suppliers existing customers to attend for free. Their motivation should be to see your new offerings and/or stop by for education. Can you share what items that are included are a game changer for you in the paid-in price? The number of staff registrations is on par with most industry tradeshow events. Unlimited Partial registration for Customers. Given that the show has never released what the "floor pass" attendee registration has been, this is an unknown benefit. 2 Full Registrations for Customers - So here is roughly $870 coming out of your pocket, don't see that as a benefit and I bet most sponsors don't even use it. 2 Comp tickets to the Closing/Awards. Text name on event signage and a placement in AGRR Magazine "thank you". Sadly, this is a shame for text only. If you want your logo, you have to spend $12,000 !!!!! That's all of the benefits for $4,295

    I am an Independent Auto Glass Shop of 38 years. I have looked into Driven Brands as to whether or not it would be a beneficial fit for our company. Interesting enough they offer a premium payment on insurance claims as to what we are currently receiving now and of course the well known steering of work is ever present when you would become a "Preferred" shop just by signing up and paying the royalties. It did not fit our plan.

    Test drive your recalibration to verify correct operation. Frank Terlep has been saying this for years. Without the test drive, you can't be certain of a correct recalibration.

      What do you mean by this? The IGA offers services such as vehicle part identification, labor, pricing, and other information so that shops do not have to ask on Facebook groups. As for mobile phones, no glass shop should be running their entire business on one. Mobile phones are ok for technicians to use for mobile work orders but to run an entire business, it is not advised.

    In my area, many dealers just scan for codes if they don’t find any they call it good. A calibration wont necessarily be performed unless codes are present. Customer pays a fraction of typical calibration charge and thinks they’re good. Glass shop loses revenue.
