Can you use old steel tie?
Thanks for the clarification about moisture in the soil. I am building a fence in sand so I will use wet concrete. It’s cheaper anyway.
I am trying to find a way to reinforce my metal gate, can you make a video? Any suggestions
That brand of foam is garbage
I did my self today. Its total BS.
Thank you
What a worthless video 😂
Sika is junk, fast 2K is really good.
Whats the best way to chip off the concrete
I was trained by eye from my fence mentor with Fix A Fence LLC look it up on UA-cam but anyway im great at it bcuz I learned from one of the best but now I'm working where they used sing lines and I understand it but don't like it bcuz it's in the way all the time and if you don't mart your grade line on your post you have a good chance trenching or cutting so make sure you set at high and in line at same time I can do both with eye and some marks and ribbon
In a toenailing scenario... both on the 3.5 side? Or one on the lower 1.5 side and one on the 3.5 side?
Great video! Quick question whats the best screw to use for these adapters? 5/16, 1 1/2 lag screws? Simpson hex drive connector screws?
Looking for a date of publication
For someone who's supposed to be some sort of expert, you don't really know crap about it huh?!....
This is an advertisement, not your opinion on, and experience with, post sleeves. Booo.
Love your video but have a question: Why doesn't anyone make a full 3 foot long sleeve that has a cap at one end that can be heat sealed before the post goes into the ground? It seems to me could eliminate any capillary action and make the post last more than 20 years. Is that a problem because you won't have profitable go-backs? lol.
You don’t want to seal the bottom of a post like that. Posts very rarely rot at the bottom because there isn’t enough oxygen down there . The first 6” below ground in most environments is the ideal breathing ground for rot, as it’s damp and has oxygen, also the wet and dry cycle is hard on the wood. These sleeves are not very good. The selling point is their warranty but that only covers the cost of the post which isn’t much more than the sleeve itself.
They did it in 7 days and low temperature during which the dry setting did't have ebough time to cure properly.
I love you. Thank you
How do you do it if you use fence 6x6 feet panels ? I want to dig some ground and make my fence posts and panels with gravel boards at 8 feet all round my garden, but i can't figure it out how...
And how many men per crew are producing 25k a week
Depends on what your living cost is.. Let’s say you pay employees $1,000 a week. Let’s say each fence cost you $5,000 in overhead, you do 3 of them a week with a 5 man crew. $15,000 in overhead, $5,000 in labor, $5,000 profits.
@@myfb3936 I don't do fencing. Is it really possible for a 5 man crew to do 3 fences in a week or is that hustling?
@@peters6850 commercial or residential? Most people residencial homes in a subdivision lot are 200 linear feet. 20 post per fence, 400 pickets, 2 day maximum with a 3 man crew if you got the equipment.. (first day dig and set post, second day; install pickets)
@@peters6850my 3 man crew can do a fence in 2 days sometimes 3 days but that's rare
@@peters6850is highly possible
Question for you. What if you damage the end of the postmaster post from driving it? Is there a way to fix it at all? Hit a bit of rock on one of the posts and it ended up damaging it a little
Couldn't you just run a board across the top and make sure it's level across?
Wrong brand. That stuff shrinks and pulls right out of the hole.its also not very dense. It is a garbage product. Fast2k is the only one to use.
Its near impossible for me to buy postmaster+ posts or anything steel in eastern canada. We get crazy winds here.
This didn't answer the question.
How long does the citronella last in the stain to repel bugs?
This really doesn't answer anything though. 😂 What do you do when the fence needs to be taller at the front of home where the grade is lower than the back yard where the grade is higher? How do you get a level fence with uneven terrain when it can't be taller than 6' at any given point in the design, and you want to keep as close to max height as possible, throughout? 🧐
There is no answer, you can't have them all the same height at the top on an uneven surface unless you remove the dirt and give it a level surface.
How did you end up doing it ? I have the same problem hope you answer
Did you end up doing your fence?
Thanks for the help Joe!
You know know I have 180 sched 40 pipe post with concrete still attached and I just hate to throw away. It’s brand new from a screw up a sub contractor did. Fence isn’t 6 months old and had to come out. Not sure what to do.
Thanks! I was wondering about this and (incorrectly) applying the logic of using a wire+turnbuckle arrangement where you are (of course) only able to pull.
I have just started implementing MySalesman. You gave me the idea. Great videos!
I have an enormous maple I'm my backyard that I need to put a little T-post with welded wire fence under. Is it going to hurt the tree to cut its roots? I don't mind the work but I really don't want to hurt the tree.
Your energy is awesome.
😊 thank you
👍
Hey Joe can you provide link to search Kings please. Appreciate your content. Big fan of yours!
Should i add gravel before dry setting a post? (The builder for my polebarn said they will pour a bag in each hole then fill the rest with dirt) Might get some gravel to throw in it beforehand.
Knowledge should be free. Just because. Do people like having idiots in the world? Why would anyone want someone to be ignorant about anything?
Too much talk... show us with some videos on how you do it
This video could have been a lot shorter... "please see my other video where I actually show you the tools and techniques I'm currently describing while sitting at this desk"
Hey. I have a leach field in the area of my fence that has been installed. The fence is not to close to the leach field but they used the same sandy type dirt to regrade my property about 2 feet higher where the fence is. When the company came to reinstall the fence they only went 2 feet down with the post even after them knowing about the regrading. Now 4 months later the fence is about 1 foot out of level at the top and they refuse to fix it saying the wind blew it over and they are not responsible. Anyway, my question is, to fix the post should a 10 foot post be installed 4 feet down to make a 6 foot fence, to overcome the loose soil?
my new neighbors from hell just built a fence over my septic line when i flush toilet its backed up and crap comes out fence posts its a awning or car port they built. i videoed myself telling them and there contractors both they better have permits and call before they dig 811 im a dispatcher for 911 or used to be and know the laws and codes. i warned them and they litterally all laughed bunch of 20 year old punks. i called code dude and city solictor and puco and gas company they dug one foot from gas line also and there on my property. now i have law suit. gas company came out said if i called a little earlier they would have shut them down immediatelly. there going to be fined he said. hopefully this helps someone out.

Hey Joe, you're the man and I value your insight! Thanks for another great video! I'm picking up a dump trailer in the morning so I can pick up an MT100.
Love it! Congrats!
I gave a thumbs down to this obvious advertizement not because of any opinion about the company's product. I gave a thumbs down because the video makes no mention that one can sleeve their own posts with common materials for peanuts a post. There are many methods/recipes. I and my farmer friends up here in northern Maine (wet clay soil and darn cold temps) have posts in the ground for more than thirty years without rot. If you find a rotted post, it is only because someone in a rush did not sleeve it right -and that is rare, because like I said, common materials applied with common sense will save you the thousands of dollars you would otherwise send to this company.
What are your methods? I’m in Tennessee.
@@timothys3119 Here in northern Maine everyone has their own favorite method. I take a dry post, soak the bottom in kerosene for a few days, slather on whatever roofing tar type stuff I find and wrap the bottom in plastic up to about 24" above grade. There are plenty of wraps you can do. Even duck tape. A french drain will also go a long way to preserving your posts.
I can relate to the “don’t be ashamed” comment. I just started a floor removal business January this year. It’s almost been a year and I worked 52 days this year. Made decent money but I fell WAY WAY short of my goal. Now I feel like I lost my motivation. This is when the doubts start entering your head and telling you maybe this business won’t work or your market won’t support your idea. Definitely going to have to get back into hustle mode after this holiday season ends. Thanks for the info boys 👍🏼
I pulled up a post. I can move the location. I've been able to get most of the old concrete out of the hole. What are your thoughts on leaving the residue concrete at the bottom of the hole (it still has a hole shaped center), and then just putting new concrete on top of it for the new post? The old post was cedar. I'm replacing it with a galvanized, steel tube post.
Joe in a bind hired subs they say they were pros but far from its disaster 22k of material its crooked leaning and well sad whats best way to pull vinyl posts w/,o damaging them not sleeves but vinyl posts?
Wow. Just me in the comments, sad day.
Is there anything wrong with just back filling and packing your fence post holes with the same dirt that came out of it? My fans requires 41 posts and that just seems like too much concrete to deal with.
I would never recommend this.
Think there are a couple brands that guarantee no shrinkage.
