The Modern NFL Quarterback Market Failed Danisl Jones
Daniel Jones has been released from the New York Giants upon his request. Part of it comes down his benching because of his play on the field, but factors outside of his control around the entire NFL can share the blame too. Teams are putting an emphasis on the advanced statistics of points per weight per shot and chasing recent three-point centric champions like the Boston Celtics and Steph Curry and Klay Thompson-led Golden State Warriors. keep up the good content man
@@patrickstar1757 thank you, I'm always real critical of my content, so regardless of the content I'm always trying to be better, and sometimes I can kind of have a skewed idea of if anything I'm making is good lol, so I'm always glad to hear when people enjoy it
Other butt hurt grown a-s man who team lost
Ok but the caoin could've gone either way. I wonder if you would've made this video if the Bucs won. Probably not. The last time the Chiefs won a really big game in over time the rules had changed, and the team STILL chose wromg, in the SB of all games. Not to mention the reason for the rule change in the first place bc of the complaining for another Chiefs win. I dont remember this amount of outrage when Mahomes lost the AFC Championship to the New England Patriots due to a cointoss
@@lukeyaple5949 I would like to believe I'd have made it either way, ultimately I'm here to report on current happenings and give my takes on it. I do agree with you on the fact of that 2018 afc championship though, not all things go the Chiefs way and I think that can be lost at times when fans around the league are mad about their current success.

They lost because they didn't stop them. No team has ever lost because of a coin toss. Changes are fine. But people will find unfairness with whatever system you implement. Give both teams the ball once ok then a team gets it a second time before the other so you are in the same situation. Lets say things played out like this Chiefs TD and Extra Point then Bucs TD and Extra Point Chiefs then get the ball again and if the Bucs fail to stop them they still lose. Also how long are overtimes supposed to be should there be double, or triple overtimes? I am fine with making the playoff over time for the whole season but you have to make the quarter at least 15 minutes again(which people will complain that so and so got hurt and if they ot was shorter that wouldn't have happened). I think it boils down to people just want the Chiefs to lose it has no bearing on fairness.
@@nizik1979 that's a good well thought out breakdown. People are gonna find the unfairness in anything no matter what you do
The OT in football has always been a debate. 1st score wins, 1st score if touchdown wins, both teams get a possession (in playoffs) Here is the only logical way to solve it, 15 min quarter, if the 4th quarter is tied at the end, just continue the posession starting in quarter 5 like you wouod moving from 1st to 2nd quarter or 3rd to 4th quarter. The score at the end of the 5th quarter determins winner/loser or tie.
The NFL had sudden death overtime for decades (waaay longer than TD to win if you get the ball first) and didn't do anything. And people said the same thing. "Just play defense!" That was unreasonable to hold teams to no field goal, but I think it's fine to expect that a team can hold somebody off for one TD drive.
Why do yall people all of sudden have a problem with this now? This has been thing since the nfl was a thing.
@@Slade_Chill I get your perspective, I will say on my end, the podcast is mostly just reporting current news and giving my take on it, so that's how the timing of it worked out
@ I understand it, but the coin toss makes things equal 50% chance of heads, 50% chance of tails. But on a note can we just appreciate how great Mahomes is, I mean baker reaction says it all. There’s only a few quarterback who would drive that reaction and one of them was Tom Brady because you knew if you didn’t get the ball first they’re were going to come up clutch when it mattered most. Plus the bucs had plenty of opportunities in the game to win, but when it mattered the most they couldn’t get it done.
@@Slade_Chill yeah mahomes is undeniably great, there's just that feeling in games when you're watching kc and they're down, that he's gonna somehow find a way to come out on the other end with a victory or at minimum keep it interesting, kind of exemplified by baker's reaction as you stated
If you figure that Mahomes will get the touchdown 75% of the time if they get the ball first and Mayfield would 50% of the time. The Bucs should have gone for 2 on after the last touchdown because they are at a statistical disadvantage going into overtime. I just made up those numbers but I think the argument stands whatever the actual numbers are.
They looking good, what team(s) are you rooting for to make the playoffs
@@shreyrai6701 especially in the west there's a lot of parity so I don't know about having set list of 8 for each conference, but I do view there as being 4 title contenders in both the east and west respectively. Out east: Cleveland, Boston, New York, I said Philly but they're looking questionable with Joe's controversies and Maxey just getting hurt. In the west I've got Denver, OKC, Dallas, and Minnesota
Heads you lose tails you lose!! CHIEFS KINGDOM 💯🏆🏆🏆🏆
can't knock the passion. They look dominant right now, even though this game went to OT the Buccs are better than their record so that's not a bad thing, wouldn't be surprised if they three-peated.
@ And if they chose to go for that 2 point conversion and get it. I believe that Pat would have got them in field goal range different stakes I’ve seen him do it to many times with way less time
it was rigged for the KC Swifties
The Chiefs voted against this rule in 2018 when it happened to us against the patriots. Nobody cared. Then we beat the Bills with 13 seconds and all of a sudden the whole league was on board when they all voted against it originally .
Losers make excuses winners make things happen !!!! CHIEFS KINGDOM 💯🏆🏆🏆🏆
@@andrewwilson5759 It’s awesome to see an intelligent man here online 💯FACTS
The coin toss doesn’t decide the game. If the defense can’t make a stand, why blame it on the coin toss?
Each team should get one last possession… After that, game over, win, lose , tie
I know this too well 😢
Every Chiefs fan agrees that a coin toss deciding a game is dumb, don't forget WE lost on a coin toss in the AFC championship game to the Pats, and then the rule got changed after we beat the Bills in the divisional round because of the toss.
@@mattelmquist4473 yeah I disagree with the rule as a whole, this is just the most recent example to talk about. Chiefs could've made the superbowl in mahomes's first year and potentially have 4 titles right now which is crazy to think about
They can’t play forever. There is regulation time for a reason.
Only matters when the Chiefs win because of it
Buccaneers had the option to go for 2 at the end of regulation but didn’t. That was their choice. They made it with full knowledge of what the overtime rules are and the chance of losing the coin toss. If they thought their odds were better if they went for 2, they would have done that instead of sending it to OT. Which might have been the right call for a team that favors their offense. The coin toss didn’t decide the game. The Bucs had every chance to make a stop on defense (just like they did on KC’s last TWO drives of regulation btw).
@@jasonmcginty6719 that's fair, the defense showed flashes of getting stops at the end of regulation, that's a good argument to make for sure that we saw they had the capability for them to do it, and they should have again
I disagree with coin tosses too. In baseball, the visiting teams always bats first. I like it like that better.
Ur on to absolutely nothing 😂
BTW do you think that you should always get to respond, meaning if they both scored a TD they should both get a chance again, I mean at that point what happens if the clock runs out before the other team had a chance to score.
@@MordechaiHershoffyoutube the clock is a good point, I think it could be like regulation where you still have to manage the clock. Make sure it doesn't run out
It doesn’t? The defense could step up/make a play.
Exactly
Why shouldn’t each team get a try?
@@jacoby4838 why should they? There’s nothing about regulation rules that guarantees an equal number of offensive possessions for each team. Why should there be in overtime?
If you want to win a football game , make a stop on defense in overtime ...the coin flip didn't win for anybody ...if u want to win make one stop ...it's an easy one ..
or call heads
@@StevenCarpenter-kd1np I get that point for sure, however oftentimes a football team can be one-sided, offensive oriented or defensive oriented, so I think it's fair for both teams to have an opportunity to utilize the best parts of their roster - the one that they typically might win because of - in overtime. However, they also had 60 minutes of regulation to put that offense into action and couldn't outscore them in regulation
@@StateoftheAssociation Disagree, it kind of forces teams to get better in all phases of football and I like that, so that if your a team who heavily favours offense you know that you take the risk that you could lose the game in OT without touching the ball, I mean this league favours offense (meaning with rules), it's kind of nice to remind people why you need a defense, and if you don't have one pay the consequences. Also the offense had a chance to score more points in regulation.

Honestly as much as I love Trigga Trey he isn't ready to be our starting Wing I would love BI too just do the one thing he lack last season when healthy 3pt shooting soo if he does that there's no reason to trade him and as good as he is you won't get a trade worth him pay him and rock out.
@@joshcross7912 yeah a lot of it depends on how one views Trey Murphy and his potential to be fair
I think the Pelicans' biggest problem with BI is that they're trying to trade him and EVERY OTHER TEAM KNOWS lmao. He wants 50 million a year on his next contract, he's expiring this year so teams don't have him locked up, and he's just not a great fit/need for any team in the league right now. Nobody's gonna trade anything significant despite how good he is, so the Pelicans probably don't want to give him away for a bargain just because the fit is awkward
@@stretchpunchbeef8982 for sure, every other team has leverage, especially because he's not a good fit on any team as you said and I tried to point out as well. Great point

I would agree with Jordan pool breakdown. He’d be better on another team in general..where I disagree is market size. The dc/ Baltimore metroplex is the 3rd largest combined Statistical area in the country after New York and Los Angeles with over 10 million people.
@@augustusx82 yeah, market size in general sure but in terms of a sporting city I don't really see it compared to a lot of places, even smaller general markets
@@StateoftheAssociation well… what’s your definition of a “sporting” city ? There are 6 pro teams in that region ..well 7 if you count MLS..none of which have a struggling fan base. The ravens have two Super Bowls in 27 years of existence, they will probably win it this year by how they are looking, the Orioles are one of the most storied franchises in baseball, the capitals just won the Stanley Cup in 2018, the nationals won the World Series in 2019, The Redskins have three Super Bowls and 2 world championship before they were called super bowls and were the most valuable sports franchise in North America for 20 years before they got a horrible owner (Dan Snyder) who allowed the Dallas Cowboys to pass them as the most valuable franchise. I think maybe you meant to say that the wizards are not really notable given their one NBA title back in the 70s.. referring to Jordan Poole.
@@augustusx82 yeah that's fair, I guess basketball culture wise especially. Sporting culture in general I think Philly is a good example of a diehard sports culture but that's an extreme to be fair. There's lesser sporting areas for sure though
@@StateoftheAssociation agreed. It’s a football region, even though Maryland produces more NBA players per capita than anywhere else in the world. It doesn’t really translate over to the wizards. I don’t know how old you are, but I remember when they would send players to Golden State to end their careers, it was basically like going to Utah, but worse. Same thing with the 76ers before they drafted Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.. you went to the 76ers to end your career and be shipped out of the league. Same thing with Boston in the late 90s and early 2000s. What changed these places was winning. I think anywhere can be a hot bed if you win. Anyways I think these are great videos. Continue the good work. I’m definitely gonna keep watching.
@@augustusx82 appreciate it. Currently I'm 17 trying to get into sports journalism but I do try to go digging into the past before my time as well, it's important for knowledge of the game and truly all facets of life
Sooners are 121 worst Offense out of 130 teams in the nation. It is not a QB problem. It is Littrell we have 6 game to play & there is only one we have a chance of winning . Mississippi state coached by Jeff Lebby that Sooner fans cussed will be interesting. They Played Texas lights out till the end of the third Quarter, then Texas wore them down, & went On to beat them. We need a OC more than Sooner Magic. We have two out standing QB that can not win these games by there selves. Our offense is not playing as a unit, & that on the OC. .
Wtf is u sayings lol are u slobbering
I agree with you. But the Colts don’t they would rather let Richardson get his reps in than win games with Flacco. So this year they are going to concentrate on trying to get him better and probably end up with a top five draft pick next year because we will suck not just because of Richardson being such a project but because the defense sucks as well.
AR could learn a lot sitting a year behind Joe Flacco. Flacco is still an elite qb in this league and gives the Colts the best shot at winning rn.
