Hi, I tried Tabata because I saw it on Katie many times and found it really beautiful. But as I said in the video, not ideal for my same body type. I had other midi skirts with similar cuts in the past and it was the same. That’s why I think it’s not just the curves in the bottom part we should think of, but also those on the top part. The final picture, so to say. So for curvy types like Katie’s, it works really well; but for hourglass and 8 figures, not so much 😭 Do you think mini skirts make you look shorter too?

@@thelidiaedit interesting! I think I’m am very self conscious about my legs. I have lipedema to my legs so even though I am not overweight, my legs are larger than they “should” be. This is probably why I prefer to either hide them beneath a maxi or wear pants/jeans.

Hi - I think it's so universally flattering in this color. That's funny you mentioned that, because I tried the tabata skirt and I have very large hips, and it was a big fail for me. I think it also depends on your overall body composition. so for me, as I have a very small torso and very big chest area, it made me look like "the little house on the prairy". I'd be curious to try the sandy on me. any thoughts on that?

@@thelidiaedit the slight fit and flare of the sandy skirt would only work for me if it’s hemline hits on the knees or a tad below any longer than that and it won’t be flattering no matter what footwear I use with it. I think my waistline-to-hips ratio is what makes a-line skirts/ pencil skirts the best for me. I’m 160cm 5ft3 and hemline makes or breaks many skirts for me. Would love to see how it goes for you.

@NorahsYarnArt isn’it it incredible how a few centimeters can change everything? A-line skirts are best on me too, but only the mini’s! Let’s see then 🩷🩷

I actually did start my wardrobe from scratch in October. Everything is from Sézane. I’m not done with it yet, but I am a true spring in seasonal color analysis, so everything is warm and bright (but not neon).. I have a ton of florals and solid warm vibrant colors, plus cream and ivory and my jeans are light-medium denim. I also have a few sequined items, and a good amount of silk. I have 3 pants+ blazer sets from Sézane, which is great for my narrow body type and can be worn together or separately. I have a bunch of midi-long dresses which is also best for my body type, and skirts below the knee.. all my accessories are gold or coral pink so far… and I no longer own ANY black! It’s not in my palette so IMO I am not allowed to buy or wear it anymore. It was making me look older and tired and so were the muted colors so I gave all of that to charity. Hopefully someone who actually looks good in those colors will take them. 🎉

Hi, I’m 1.72m tall. No alterations for me, but they’re of course high rise and I like them like that. It’s a good tip about the wool program, as I wash my other knits like that, but was hesitant about them. I wore them outside a couple of times, just walking around the block. They’re stunning, but I really got them as elevated loungewear ;) ❤️

That’s funny you mentioned the Italian style, because I’m Italian and think that Italian fashion isn’t inclusive at all., sizing is really tiny and when I lived there I always cried coming back to stores and having to wear 2 sizes up to fit into things. Very few Italian brands have decent sizing. It’s very confusing because in Italy the aesthetic is: you have to be skinny and have a tiny bum (but a round one!), but a big chest. When I moved to France I had more luck with sizes in more brands, but the clothes are shaped differently. They’re designed on French bodies, whereas in Italy they’re designed on Italian bodies, so even though clothes are tiny, they’re still made for slightly (I highlight, SLIGHTLY) curvier figures. But I love that Italian Americans are so into the celebration of curves and women don’t have to suffer diets and generational bodyshaming like we do in the mother land :D
