It's in him. It's got to come out.
Such a smooth transition between piano players is unbelievable.
Boogie woogie y pionerisimo del rock and roll!! Temazo
Quel quatuor et quelle belle synchronisation. Your are great musiciens. Bravissimo.
GREAT....
13 hundred and two views in just under 8 years and I was one of them. I'm a lucky man
magnifico!
I lived my first life in the 1920s. That was great music. I remember that song very well.
Wonderful
God, I wish I'd been there, My fear is that they'll come to London and I'll only find out years later. What talent and what fun.
Rock and roll from 1928? This sounds a lot like Ray Charles’ What’d I Say.
Its Boogie Woogie mate, Boogie Woogie is a genre within blues music.
Si, es boogie woogie y Pionerisimo rock and roll!!
macht Spaß zuzuhören 🙂
Harlem Hamfats Alberta Smith, vocals; Ann Cooper, trumpet; Horace Malcolm, piano; Charlie McCoy, mandolin; Joe McCoy, guitar; John Lindsay, bass; Fred Flynn, drums. Recorded in Chicago, Illinois; March 31, 1939.

yep, THE boogie woogie record ... all-time fave for the next 100 years or so ...
Smith was one of the earliest progenitors of boogie woogie; a vitally important figure in popular music.
"And don't move a peg!" Decades after it was recorded, Tommy Dorsey's excellent version of "Boogie Woogie" won a Grammy award as an historically important recording.
Happy 126th Black History Month everyone !!
Stephanie is tricky
The same Bob Nolan from the Sons of the Pioneers?!
Almost 100 years now.... amazing.... thank you and god bless, if he's around.
1904-1929: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinetop_Smith
He'd be 121 years old, if he was still around. Unfortunately, Clarence "Pine Top" Smith died just 4 months after he made this recording, on March 15, 1929 in a dance hall in Chicago, Illinois where he was hit by a stray bullet. He was two months shy of his 25th birthday.
Super funny to see & hear from landl recordings... Harry
Holy Macaroni what fun!
My favorite BG Quartet number....and I think I just fell in love again. What.a show!
I like Stephanie and her playing,, but Harry connick Jr played this song live in TX. He did a great job playing it..
The best music always comes when the performers are having the most fun.
Wonderful Eva...
what a great "hand-over-the-baton". This gives me a crazy idea: how about a "the longest nonstop-boogie-woogie-playing-world-record"? Just handover the baton again and again for 24 hours from player to player. Just make sure each player arrives at the stage 10 minutes earlier than her/his perfomance
What a gem. And that all-stars band, a great lineup.
Stephanie Trick's "Trick" -- awesome showmanship by both of them
What a performance!!!

chevre
Never heard this Blue Steele before
SPECIALGRAND BRAVO TO THE DUMMER ON THE PIANO : FANTASTIC !!!!!
incredibili : Stesso suono e tecnica.
Heaven and Playland.
Sehr ccol! War auch schon mehrmals dort :)
That guy with a tie plays in a classical piano way with a legato touch, which doesn't go in rag music.
In my browser this video "goes" flawlessly. I want to give you something to think about. You are always free to write your personal opinion in a personal manner. Your words "which doesn't go in rag music" are words that generalise beyond your person. Your favorite style of music seems to be rag / ragtime. Imagine: if EVERYBODY would have disencouraged ALL musicians that developed YOUR favorite style of music. Your favorite style of music you love so much to hear just would'nt EXIST!. So again you are always free to say or write your personal opinion. But in my personal opinion. saying or writing something in a general manner like "that's a no go to do xy in z-style" limits creativity.
You do know the guy with the tie is Stephanie’s husband.
just superb
