Arrowhead Hunting In Central Kentucky
I love walking the rivers it's always going to produce would like to have all the artifacts that are buried in the floodwall that surrounds Louisville
There's nothing better than Walking the Ohio river it will always produce I like the endless varieties and time frames from paleo to woodland
You are correct ! I've spent countless hours walking these banks . It was a major travel corridor with many resources for Native Americans to utilize and survive from . It can and does produce a great diversity of artifacts . The rise and fall of water levels reveal these artifacts . I enjoy hunting during the winter the most . Lots of high water to wash things out . Thanks for watching . Best wishes to you.
@bluegrassrelics1969 thanks for writing me back I'm in Kentucky the native Americans loved the bluegrass state I can find them anywhere in the state I would say Kentucky and Missouri produce the best quality just throwing in my 2 cents have a blessed day
Looks like a Mano
I kinda thought mano or a pestle . Thanks for watching , I appreciate it.
I'd call it a Pestle of some kind. I find odd ones around here. I lost my phone and all the information I had on it. I have to start all over again. All my pass words are gone. Can't recover anything. I'll start a new channel soon. Thanks for sharing. Good luck out there.
I hate to hear you lost your phone and all of your info . That sucks for sure . Do you still have the same cell # ? I think it is some sort of pestle . It has polish , pecking , and use wear on it . It's good to hear from you , brother . I'd still like to get out and do some rock hunting on the big river with when you can make it down . Take care , man
Good to see you out and about. Something is better than nothing, brother. Either a blade or flint adze. A good find. Maybe we can get out sometime. Miss going with you.
I was thinking it was a flint adze as well . Hope you've been doing well . Let's get out soon . Thanks for watching, brother .
So good to see ya back on the big O, awesome recoveries, hopefully the day after was great, something about searching and finding artifacts puts a nice balance in every day life, keep on em 😎😎😎
Thanks for stopping by , brother . It's always good to hear from you . Artifacts definitely provide a balance . It's nice to find a few things when rock hunting . Take care 👍
Heck yeah, y'all !! Awesome saves !! 😎👊 The big smooth rock woulda definitely came home with me too !! ✌🍀⛏⛏
Thanks , brother! I'm pretty sure the big rock was a pestle . After cleaning it and looking at under good light , you can see the pecking , grinding , polish , and use wear on it very good . Thanks for watching , I appreciate it . Best wishes on your next hunt .
@@bluegrassrelics1969 Awesome 😎👊
Thanks for documenting these 🤤
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it. Best wishes to you.
Awesome, man !! 😎👊 Pretty little drill !! Congrats on the 1k subs, I know I'm late but still 👊✌️🍀⛏️⛏️
Thanks , brother ! I appreciate you watching . Best wishes !!!
@@bluegrassrelics1969 😎👊🍀
Cool saves,bud 😎👊!!! And yeah, I love a nutter myself ✌️🍀⛏️
Thanks , brother! I appreciate you watching.
@@bluegrassrelics1969 😎👊
Heck yeah, man !!!! 😎👊 Awesome saves, love the celt !!! I've never found a complete celt ... Killer show , hope you get on some more ✌️🍀⛏️⛏️
Thanks , man ! I found quite a few of them in the last couple of years . Some are well used up. Hope you find one soon . I appreciate you watching .
@@bluegrassrelics1969 Thanks, and good luck out there ✌🍀
Beautiful finds, sir! Those washes looked awesome. I love hunting them. Congrats on that celt - i'm jealous!
Thanks , brother ! The power of water is our friend . Those washes or gullies are my favorite spots to look . They are usually productive . The celt was well used, but Im happy to add it to my collection. There is quite a bit of hardstone to be found in my neck of the woods . Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. Best wishes to you.
It's always great to find a nice relic or two. Glad you were rewarded for your efforts. Hopefully the rain will wash off more for you soon. Take care.
Thanks, Jack ! I'm considering going back today after all the rain yesterday . Maybe a few things got uncovered . Thanks for watching. It's always good to hear from you, fellas .
Great to see ya back on the man altered stone, looks like the river uncovered some nice artifacts, keep on em😎😎😎😎
Thanks ,Terry ! It was a good trip out rock hunting . The rise and fall of water levels always helps uncover treasure. Thanks for watching . It's always good to hear from you . Best wishes to you, my friend .
New sub , enjoyed your video
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video . I gave you a sub as well . Best wishes to you .
Great saves on the river! New sub. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it. I gave you a sub as well . Best wishes to you .
Great finds brother and great saves. The rain should help ya soon
Thanks ,brother . Rain is always a big help in washing stuff out . Take care, Mike .
Nice finds Chris. That one has a needle tip on it. Getting some goid rain. Maybe we can get out some time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks ,Johnny ! That Adena was perfect for sure . I'm pretty sure it was a knife form that never was hafted . It doesn't show any resharpening, and the tip was perfect . We will get out soon . Thanks for watching . I was good hearing from you . Take care , brother .
Mill creek man! Awesome Celt Loved that last point. I’m guessing that last point is something older than Adena, but who knows…super nice saves congrats
Thanks , man ! Any celt found is good ! Lol! It was a good morning, for sure . I'm not positive on the last point, but I think it's an Adena in knife form . Thanks for watching , I appreciate it . Best of luck to you .
This morning was probably the best the rivers looked in a while. Unfortunately all this rain is going to make it shoot back up! Great finds ! I always enjoy seeing your videos.
Thanks , brother ! The water level looked safe . The rise and fall is what washes the good stuff out . Everything is still covered in mud, so hopefully, some good rain will clean things off . Thanks for watching , I appreciate it . Best wishes to you .
@@bluegrassrelics1969 I guess you miss understood what I meant . All I was saying was the water is going back up before it really washes the lower rock line. At least on my stretch of River it was just starting to expose the lower rock line and this rain is going to silt it all back in. Just wanted to clarify that. Anyways happy hunting!
@RiverRatArtifacts No worries, brother. I knew what you meant . My rock line is mostly still mudded in on this site . Recent rain has started to expose it again . It's tricky with the river going up . Seems like the longer the water is up, the more mud it leaves behind . The more the mud gets washed off, the better it will get, hopefully . Sorry for the misunderstanding, brother . Good luck out there, my friend
Good hunt , good finds👍
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it. Best wishes to you!
What part of Kentucky is this
Trimble county
Why not those others I can see on your camera!!! They were smokers
????
Any other cool stuff to look for in creeks like glass or bullets old stuff?
The possibilities are endless as to things you can find in and along waterways . Bottles , fossils , old horse shoes , bullets , coins , pottery , buckles from shoes, buttons , fishing lures , sinkers , and tons of other old stuff . Thanks for stopping by , I appreciate it. Best wishes to you.
Bill Blanton hunting artifacts in the mountain
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it . Best wishes to you
Good to see that you’re out and about. At least you found a few relics.
Thanks, Jack ! It was nice to get out and play in the mud for a few hours . Looking forward to a good rock hunting season . Hope you guys have been do8ng well.
How are you and Bennie doing AJ?
@@PaleoHunter69 fair to midland bro. How about you?
@@actionjacksonartifactsandb877 I'm ok. I'm glad I talked to you this afternoon. I had you on my mind.
Cool finds 👊😎
Thanks for stopping by , I appreciate it . Best wishes !!!
glad to see ya back on youtube! Steve from Glasgow.
I'm glad to be back . Thanks for watching, brother. Best wishes to you.
Glad you got a day out man. I’ve gone looking three or four times in the creeks this year. Take care bro
Thanks ,man ! It was a fun day despite the mudded in site . I've found some killer stuff in them creeks . I appreciate you stopping by . Best wishes out there!!!
Awesome thumb scrapper brother. Loved seeing you back in the saddle. Don’t blame you one bit for not sinking in the mud. I saw a video on UA-cam where a guy sank up to his neck in mud and barely made it out alive. Be careful on the river sludge brother. Summer is coming tho which is usually the best time for the river here. Also I loved seeing the pottery. I believe the thicker it is the older it is. We’ve got a beach here called pottery beach that is absolutely covered in broken vessels. Had to be a place they were making them heavily. Either way can’t wait to see what that site brings you this year. Take care bubba ✌🏻
Thanks, brother . That mud ain't no joke . I know when to not walk in it .Lol! It will pull a boot off trying to get out of it . Lol! That's an interesting idea on the pottery shard . I've often wondered why some is really thin with elaborate markings in it, and some is chunky and more crude . That makes sense . It felt good to get out . I'm gonna get the boat out so I can hit a bunch of sites soon . Can't wait to see some killers from your sites as well . Good hearing from you, and best wishes out there, brother .
The last white arrowhead was one of the oldest in USA lands. A "dalton" point, 5000-7000 BC, so 7000 - 9000 years old. This arrowhead belonged to the ancestors of the clovis bearers. The point was made in design by tradition and influenced such. Be proud.
Thanks for watching .
Great variety of artifacts and nice video! Hunting a big river seems like a good way to find a variety of artifacts.
Thanks for watching . The big river is a great place to hunt for relics . Rising and falling water levels is the key . Knowing where sites are is important as well . Best wishes .
Y didn't u get that Nutting stone
You can't get them all . I have a ton of nice nutting stones . Leave some for the next guy to take home . Thanks for watching.
I have walked behind people that were in to much of a hurry after a rain and found fine points that they missed because they were moving to fast.
They definitely don't find them all. I have found them in someone else's footprints . Thanks for watching.
That was a beautiful way to find that artifact. Nestled against that big rock just waiting to be rescued. Really nice find! Congrats on your 1,000!
Thanks , brother . We think it is a used up pinetree that was reworked into a drill . I appreciate you watching . Best wishes out there .
Ya missed one at the firepit on the right side about 3:00. It looked to be 3 to 4" long, thin, grayish color. If that pit was a clock look at it about 3 00
You can't find them all . It looks silly that I missed it but it happens . Thanks for watching. Best wishes.
@@bluegrassrelics1969 i m probably gettin excited and seein artifacts that arent there. Keep up the cool vids👍
Cool point you found there Mr Bluegrass. Funky twist to that one for sure
Thanks , brother! We think it was a used up pinetree that they reworked into a drill . I appreciate you watching, and best wishes to you
Oh hell yeah!!
Thanks for watching , I appreciate it. Best wishes
That’s a smoker of a drill!!!! Too bad about the nicks but I bet they were made during the use of that old girl..
Thanks, brother! It was definitely a used up point . We think it was probably a pinetree repurposed into a drill . Thanks for watching , I appreciate it . I'm doing a giveaway for reaching 1k subs . Leave a comment on that upload, and I will include you in the giveaway . Best wishes !!
That's a killer drill 👊😎
Thanks , I appreciate you watching .
@@bluegrassrelics1969 you bet 👊😎
Nice find, congrats on the 1000 subs 😀🏹
Thanks, brother! I appreciate you watching . Best wishes!
Is this paleo hunter? Hey brother that drill was nice prayers for your healing process. God bless
This isn't Paleo Hunter . He is a good friend of mine that I rock hunt with when we can . Thanks for stopping by . I appreciate the prayers, my friend . Best wishes
Great finds brother. That drill looked really nice sitting there waiting for ya. Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks, buddy ! The drill was a cool piece . Wish I could have found more stuff, but that's how it goes when the water is low . Talk to you soon .
Sorry to hear you were sick. Hope you get back to 100%. Nice reworked Pine Tree. Take care.
Thanks, Jack . Had some skin cancer removed from my cheek . 32 stitches later, I'm back in business . I wasn't sure if it was a lost lake or a pinetree . Definitely knew it was early archaic . I hope you guys have been doing well . Take care , buddy .
Nice to see you out again hunting those relics. Nice spot on that drill👍🏻
Holy bevel, batman! Gorgeous point, sir! Congrats. Michael Whiteside sent me. Subbed! Hope your procedure went well. I always worry about skin cancer. Been working in the sun for the last 15 years and all my hobbies are outdoors too. Get healed up!
Hey, thanks, brother . It was a sweet Dovetail . That site doesn't give up much, but when it does, it's usually an oldie . The skin cancer on the face sucked but everything went well . I'm pretty much healed up now. I will be sporting a 10-gallon hat and sunscreen to protect from the sun regularly. I missed the best part of rock hunting season, but your well-being comes first . Mike is a good friend of mine, and I've started taking him out looking with me over the last year or so . I've been subbed and watching your channel for some time now . Great content and always entertaining. I love hunting waterways, and it's cool to see you doing the same . Like you , we have a lot of hunting pressure here as well . Just part of it, and they don't find them all . Just have to work harder than the other guys and look places that are overlooked . I really appreciate you watching and subbing . My name is Chris, and I hope you fill your pockets up the next time out . Best wishes , man .
@@bluegrassrelics1969 Yeah, when Michael told me about your channel I checked you out and saw your profile picture and I thought it definitely looked familiar. If we have spoken in the past and I forgot, my apologies. I get people confused pretty easy on here sometimes. So many cool people and cool channels! Glad your procedure went well, Chris. I'm Aaron by the way. Good luck out there!
Must be an incredible feeling finging something so ancient. Best wishes to you from Lancashire, England.
Thank you . It is definitely cool to find ancient artifacts. I appreciate you watching . Best wishes to you as well.
Caldwell County has some nice ones Paducah also ❤🦅🇺🇲🦅🤘
There are plenty of artifacts in the happy hunting grounds. Thanks for watching.
Nice find thanks for sharing we hope you get feeling better soon a little fresh air and some nice points will help you heal 😊
Thanks, man !!! I'm on the way to full recovery . Just got 32 stitches taken out . I'm hoping to be back rock hunting in a few weeks . It definitely is good for the soul . I appreciate you watching . Best wishes to you.
Hello there. I live on the KY/TN line between Franklin, KY and Orlinda, TN. I know absolutely nothing about these kinds of things but I have some arrow heads I've somehow acquired over the years and I'm just fascinated everytime I hold one. Anyway, can you please tell me a little more about the pipe fragment you found and show in the early part of this video? Specifically, do you have any idea whatsoever how old it may be or who probably made it? I'm guessing it's indians but I'm not even sure of that. Also, it doesn't really look handmade to my VERY untrained, inexperienced, and uneducated (on artifacts) mind. I mean, it looks to perfect and too uniform. The top of the bowl seems to be exactly the same thickness all the way around it. I also don't see any of the chipped off divots like you see on arrowheads. PLEASE PLEASE don't take my questions wrong or as if I'm suggesting you are faking something or are wrong or anything else. Clearly you know what you are doing. I am simply trying to learn a little bit here. Thanks very much for any help or insight you may offer!
How's it going, brother ? The trade pipe piece is likely early to mid 1800s Era. They were originally made and brought here by Europeans and traded with Native Americans for fur and / or other goods . I'm pretty sure after that, they were manufactured here as they became popular among early Americans . I've also heard them called Penny pipes . The piece I found is of unknown origin . It could have been used by indians but most likely wasn't. It is really just speculation at this point . It is amazing the things you can find in a creek . Back in the old days, folks threw their trash over the hill in creeks, and it wasn't frowned upon like today . Some of this stuff got mudded in the bank and eventually gets washed out years later . Thanks for stopping by, and that's a great set of questions . I'm definitely no expert, but I hope that I shed some light on these trade pipes for you . Best wishes to you
Beautiful point!! Super flaking on gorgeous material. Great Early Archaic piece!
Thanks, guys ! It had a little ear damage, but I'm happy to have found it . I appreciate you all watching . Best wishes out there.
