In 2023, CSX GP40-2 No. 6394 was assigned to a local job operating between Cartersville and Cedartown, Georgia. On one of the engine's overnight stays in Cedartown, it became the second "victim" of the Cedartown Paint Shop.
Someone in the Cedartown area has taken to painting the noses of locomotives left overnight in the yard there, but instead of standard graffiti, the "artist" has instead been giving the locomotives their original paint schemes back on their short hoods. Some say it is an answer to the official CSX heritage units that only have the predecessor paint from the cab, back.
Locomotive 6394 is an original Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac locomotive, having been delivered to them in September of 1972 as their No. 142.
In this video, we see the 6394 on local job L807-21, which works out of the Wauhatchie classification yard in Chattanooga, and down as far as Chickamauga Station (Milepost 126.6) on the Western & Atlantic Railroad, serving customers at that location, as well as a few on the Tyner Branch which runs to the Enterprise South Industrial Park.
