I was living in South Africa at the time and the last Holden we got was the Monaro GTS the old 68/69 shape, when we saw a pic of the new shape we were not getting, only in straight six Chevy guise 4 door only, I know we had a fuel Crisis going on but a Two door V8 GTS would have sold in droves in SA. We still had the beautiful Ford Fairmont GT HQ 351 the sounded glorious and Gunston Cigarette company had some beautiful liveried ones, and my dream car I was saving up for when I started word in 76 the Ford Capri Perana V8 . Never managed to own any but has a Gran Torino 72 351 Ram air and a 76 Trams Am 6.6 I have been trying to buy a Monaro over here in U.K. for a few years but prices have gone mental

What ever you sold it for in 2015 it be worth twice as much today

I had a LS Monaro when I was 16 in 1986. It got written of (not my fault, hit from behind) when I was 17 then from the insurance I got another LS Monaro painted it 3 times spent 30 grand back in 1989 on the engine then sold it in 1995. I wish I kept it. Would be worth 150k now.

Wrong nose cone. That is a Premier/ LS one. I had a GTS350 in all white [no blackouts] that was ordered latish 74 and had a Jan 75 ID plate. I am a bit surprised that car sat in the dealers so long. I had a 253 4 speed that color

The hq is my favourite Holden had a few of them but this one is absolutely beautiful this the dream car even if it's got 4 doors 🥰

The twin-headlight grille is a retro-fitted Premier grille, with a GTS badge added on. There is a remote chance it was ordered by the dealer with that grille, but I would think that is very unlikely. Back then, so many people were bolting Premier and Statesman front ends on their vans, wagons, utes and sedans.

Hope this was sold to someone who wants to restore it, and not modify it, ie, sold to someone older than 30

The twin headlight front isn't factory for a Monaro GTS, unless it was ordered from new as a option, or added later!

Worked there during the VL Crummidore era. Geez they were a crap car. Nothing like the HQ-HZ Kingswood & Monaro days. Surprised they actually kept some of those asbestos buildings.

Aside from the coupe right at the start, MR073 at 2.50 is the pick of the bunch.
