🇹🇭 Boeing 737-400 plane near Pattaya discovered on a plane graveyard and I entered to the cockpit
On my last visit to the aircraft cemetery near Pattaya I showed you a video about the Lockheed L-1011 also known as TriStar.
That was a year ago, and a lot has happened since that.
Another aircraft has been added, a Boeing 747 from Thai Airways.
It is still under renovation, and it is not yet possible to enter.
The 737-400 model made its first flight in 1988.
A total of 486 of this version were delivered.
The last Boeing 737-400 was handed over in 2000.
For a small fee of 30 baht, which is less than one US dollar, you can now enter the aircraft.
The rear part of the cabin is air-conditioned, but unfortunately not the cockpit.
I was sweating a lot while filming at 35 degrees in Pattaya.
In the cockpit, however, it was over 40 degrees.
Unfortunately, the cockpit is no longer original in many places.
Some instruments were missing, and parts from other aircraft had to be installed.
The trim rudders are missing, the thrust levers are much too small and not original Boeing parts.
The control horns are also missing.
You can write in the comments what kind of fake instruments you have found, there so are many.
I found the small windows above the cockpit window interesting.
I had read about them but have never seen them because in the never versions of the 737 they are not included.
They allowed better visibility in turns and provided a better view of the sky when navigating through stars.
With modern avionics, they became redundant.
All in all, a place worth seeing.
Now I'm waiting for the new added Boeing 747 to open for costumer visits.
When it is possible to enter inside the plane, I will make a video from it.

I flew in one of those planes back from Europe in 1983. It makes me sick to see them junked like that. Just makes me sick.
Led Zeppelin: Starway to heaven..... Very good. Thank you band.
great video, incredible condition
WHy are those orientals wearing tissue paper on their faces?!??!
WHY IN THE WORLD did the coffee lady under the wing have a piece of black cloth over her mouth?!??!?!
Such a small and narrow fuselage indeed
Just a little imagination goes a long ways. Most people just don't have an imagination. Those planes were pretty sofisticated for their era. You could set up an ILS approach after takeoff and it would fly by itself to and within 200 feet of an ILS runway. That's a given today but not in those days. It just made safe landings in bad weather a lot safer. MLS was good to but for whatever reason the airline industry chose not to invest in it. There was only one time when it didn't work out and that was when Delta Flight 191 crashed short of the runway at DFW in a storm but that was a weather phenomenon called a microburst that pushed the plane down to the ground.
Why do you celebrate until the 19th?
In Pattaya every year Songkran starts day 12 and day 19 is the last day. Day 18 is the big party in Naglua and day 19 in Pattaya. Only in Pattaya we celebrate so many days, in the rest of the country are fewer days. It is the best time of the year in Pattaya!
So impressive! Alot of very happy memories travelling on these beautiful airplanes! I believe that the riggers who transported these aircraft had to get instructions from the original manufacturer such as Lockheed to carefully disassemble transport and reassemble the aircraft at the final destination usually by large flat bed railroad cars and flatbed trucks. These planes are kept in there original condition and are converted into the most beautiful center pieces and used for buildings and are preserved. They are certainly pieces of artwork!
I'm was a flight engineer in the mid 90's on the Tristar. Wow that's a wacky cockpit. It's good they filled in the holes with something rather than leaving it bare even though it's components of other aircraft models. It's still such a beautiful bird.
Why does the video start inside of a non-L1011 Boeing plane?
Which road is that
Soi 6
How did they get these planes here? Were they all cut up and towed in?
no chris, they magically fell out of the fcking sky and landed perfectly as coffee shops! twit!
I think everyone here would play around with the buttons in the cockpit like an autist, too xD
It’s sad to see such amazing aircraft just rotting in a field.
カラーを見ると、これはオールニッポンエアウェイズのトライスターであることがわかります。

Yes it is a A330-300 ex Thai Airways (HS-TEA), I made a video from the cabin inside ua-cam.com/video/Fp083WdH_pM/v-deo.html the history can be found here www.planespotters.net/airframe/airbus-a330-300-hs-tea-thai-airways-international/38q753
Oh ok thx

Interested video 😊. Thank you for sharing 😊
Very interesting
Kind of a mystery on why they painted the plane in ANA color scheme but this plane never flew with ANA. I know ANA did fly the Tri-stars but this one especially on 19:21 you can see the registration VR-HOK. This plane started with Eastern Airlines as N327EA then went to Cathay Pacific as VR-HOK. Last airline to have her was Angel Air as XU-700.
What is the reg of this aircraft
History: delivered 1973 to Eastern (N327EA), last operator Angel Air, damaged by rebels at Bangkok airport 2004 - serial number: MSN 1055 - More info here: www.airfleets.net/ficheapp/plane-l10-1055.htm
It's nice to see an L1011 in full form. That's becoming more and more rare.
It is always weird to see an airplane you use to actually fly / work on be transformed into a Coffee Bar in Pattaya Thailand! This is Eastern L1011 / N327.
Lockheed Tristars always looked heaps older looking then the DC-10.
I love the s duct, is that what you mean? Certain angles are absolutely beautiful
We can bring back the Tri L1011 in new form
It's a shame that most of the gauges are wrong and the FE panel is completely messed up. But at least the aircraft is preserved and not scrapped.
Lucky anything is left being open like that
So nice.
Please do not scrap that Tristar
Yep seen this plus had a 737 and A300 on site
Die deutsche Intonation in deinem Englisch ist unüberhörbar - was dann ja auch die INFO in deinem UA-cam-Kanal zur Angabe des Landes bestätigt. Aber was soll an diesem Wrack so interessant sein?
Is this anywhere near Sattahip? I used to dive out of Samesan harbor, and the landscape looks very familiar
Yes, it is. From Sattahip is about 6 to 8 kilometers.
26 years flying the TriStar. Greatest jet airliner ever built. Lots of Boeing stuff in the cockpit but at least they didn’t just leave holes in the panels. ADI looks real with the speed donut. I flew the one sitting in Nong Khai for Las Vegas Sands Corp. for several years. I’m living just east of Rayong now. I’ll go see this one as soon as I can. Great memories, thanks for posting.
I was an FE on the tristar. When.i saw that panel I was thinking man did I miss some weird form of differences training? lol It's definately has some odd components to it. You're right though. It's good they filled up the holes. It's still such a beautiful aircraft and still my favorite.
Do you know if there are any piston fighters from world War 2 in this airplane graveyard or any other place in in the country someplace ?
So cool.
Nice! History.
At least it has not been turned into beer cans……I would hate to see the chop job behind the instrument panels. I wonder if they are using the lower galley as storage or is it just for show. All of the Concords have been fully preserved equipment wise and could be restored to flight status with some work. There is a reason why their cockpits are blocked off with plexiglass screens. Most of the flight controls up front have unobtainiam status and must be preserved with the rest of the airframe.
I think the cockpit instruments are hilarious. I could use most of them on my 747.😂
🤣🤣Thank you for that laugh. As a former B747 Flight Engineer, I felt right at home looking at these gauges. There are gauges from the 747 Flight Engineer's panel on the center console, on the overhead panel, on the Pilot and FO's front panels and of course on the FE panel. But i will give them credit for filling in the holes with actual aircraft parts rather than just plugging them up.
yeah man I was an L-1011 flight engineer and I was confused when I saw the panels. I thought I might be having temporary demensia or something. lol Then I saw the comment section and realized I wasn't losing my mind. You're right that it's good they filled up the holes though. best regards
I worked for Eastern as a F/A from 1976 to 1989 the L-1011 was my# 1 choice spent many hours aloft and even lived on one when we were snowed in at JFK for 3 days I was based in SJU/MIA .
Mabe you worked on it: History: delivered 1973 to Eastern (N327EA), last operator Angel Air, damaged by rebels at Bangkok airport 2004 - More info here: www.airfleets.net/ficheapp/plane-l10-1055.htm
I worked on many of these L -1011S for Eastern Airlines at JFK and Laguardia 1980-1990 and its a little sad to see the demise of these once great airplanes now used for restaurants, sea reefs, homes ,etc. but thats life nothing lasts for ever as its wrttten. On a positive note its nice to see it used for something positve instead of a scrapyard as an alternative ...Glenn a retired Eastern Airlines A&P Mechanic..
I love this plane a much better one than the DC 10
@@ReShawna2k20he DC-10 is a much better aircraft. L-1011 couldn't compete against the DC-10: range, performance and flexibility. Too complex and without the range/payload
Now it looks like Miami
Tolles Video und super Qualität 👍
My Favourite Bar Hopefully will return in 2023
Thanks very much Pattaya Driver for uploading this video. As a retired expat with disabilities living in Pratumnak I can't get out to live events in Pattaya. I only now thought of looking on UA-cam. I'm sure the display must have been even more spectacular if you were there but I couldn't have handled the crowds anymore.
Wish you all best and happy new year!
Great Video, but those cockpit instrument panels are suspicious to say the least! Some are certainly not from an L011 anyway! On the Flight Engineers panel I saw anti-skid controls and other lights for Body Gear (747). The overhead panel had engine ignition switches for just two engines! The L1011 has three! :)
Maybe they had to use other instruments to fill empty spaces
yes they apparently were just filling up the holes for aesthetic purposes.@@BGTech1
Flight deck panels are bullshit, they mounted whatever they've found on that graveyard :D Still, nice display.
Gina 🤣🤣 i know owner for long time. 👍🏼👍🏼i be back soon to she Gina. 🇸🇪💯👊🏼
01:18 - "[...] none are still flying." Not true. There is one still flying, albeit not in passenger service. The "Stargazer", an L-1011 TriStar in service with Northrop Grumman (formerly Orbital ATK), serves as a flying launch platform for the Pegasus rocket.
There is also one with the Tri-Star Experience but it flies intermittently
I know about the TriStar Experience (tail number N910TE), but I was under the impression that she was deemed unairworthy and was thus permanently grounded. I could be wrong.
@@kattphloxworthych Oh wow, I didn't hear that. What a bummer. When did you hear that news?
I heard couple of months ago. However, I relly didn't take the time to check to see whether that airframe really isn't airworthy anymore.
