Why thank you. I take that as a big complement.
Iike the name you give them
Thanks for taking the sweet heart home free at last
Hugli is adorable. I am so happy that you take such good care of her.
The hens are having so much fun in the garden beds. What a lovely flock.
What's wrong with her? Why does she look so unbalanced?
cause she is t h i c c
She had a problem with one of her legs. She was much improved at this point. He leg may have been damaged during her time as a battery hen.
@@patatav7780 no, she wasn't thick at all she was remarkably bright.
good video, these chickens are in paradise in the JUNGLE, they like that, they can be good gold diggers, they are happy and funny, good pets.
Like we wouldn't all do this if given half a chance.
this seems to climb the hill rather well. I remain impressed
Thank you. I don't want to get too hopeful but she seems to be holding her head up better tonight. Fingers Crossed!
Well my fingers will be crossed, keep me updated, she is very lucky to have you as her mum, take care
. ctd They go downhill very fast normally. I shall continue to feed her for a week and if there's any improvement at all - fine, we'll continue but if not I will help her to leave
Hello there, no not yes. It's a hard one because she looks healthy and feathered, just very very weak. I'm feedng her on porridge and water at the mo and she does appear a tiny bit stronger. On Monday she was giving all the signs of "If it's ok with you I'll die now" and she is one of the more senior ladies. However I brought her in so she could fade in the warm and not get picked on and she didn't. So I'm not sure what to think. ctd.
Have you found out what is wrong with her?
Do you give yours spaghetti? Its like the "worm olympics!"
Ahh bless her, is she doing okay?
Great video, aren't they so funny, last night one of mine found a worm in the garden, she was so pleased with herself she was making such a racket about it, then one of the other ones came and took it, I felt so sorry for her, but did have a giggle, she couldn't believe it :0)
That was so funny :0)
Ah that was heart moving.. How did she ever survive the horrors, was her legs bad when she came to you? I bet she is good at wangling her way into peoples heart, what a cutie, not a little favourite by any chance :0)
Ah how lovely, thanks for sharing... I used to have a cup like that but mine was yellow :0)
What a lovely video, thanks.. I am getting my hens from BHWT on 14\7\2012, I am so excited I have the run and coop ready for them (check out my videos 'Serena & Toms allotment'. They are going to live on my allotment in the summer so hoping they will help in the veg beds, then come home with me in the winter :0)
Thank you. Jasmine left us in Spring this year. She became a little bit dotty towards the end and had to rely on syringe feeds. However she went to the stool I used to put her food on and shouted for her servant (me) to feed her cat food-pate. She left quietly and in peace in her own time. She was in my arms and kept looking into my face for reassurance. It was hard but lovely all at the same time. Thank you for your kind wishes, they are appreciated. Jaquelyn.
I absolutely loved watching this video, tanks Jaquelyn! It really does look like a hell of a lot of fun, and I can't wait to be a part of it. Was awesome to see everyone I recognised from the Qpod website, with scooby, shaggy and Scoot! haha and your lovely little blue pod aswell!! x Alex (alehdorable)
@megyerdon Thank you so much, if you have time can you point me in the direction of any of the vidoes please? She's a great friend to us - so chatty and comical. Have you seen her video of when she learned to run? Her legs were damaged on removal from the battery and she taught herself to run, bless her. Kind Regards Jaquelyn
Hello, it does look rotten I agree but as you can see it's not affecting her appetite! We went back to the vet again tonight having treated the lump as cancker on the advice of a chicken-owners forum and it's less angry today. The vet said it looks the same as a fungal sinus infection that rabbits get and if it's not gone in 2 weeks he'll lance it. Bless her little heart, if you've seen her earlier videos you 'll see what a little fighter she is. We're so lucky to have her. x
@spazzymcgee001 Thank you - she is inspiring, they all are when you consider what they've been through. Your kind comment is very much appreciated.
I miss having chickens as I had them as a kid. Yours really seem to be having a nice time. I wish we could have them in the city limits here.
She is, she's very special. Her walking has improved as the weather's got warmer :-D Thank you for looking at her - rescue some ex-batts!
she is such a funny little gal - a sweet nature too
hmmm, 60 miles in 60 minutes? I wish you luck, especially where 30mph limits apply!
i love these things, but my 16th birthday is soon too, but im gonna get a 50cc bike instead. i wish i could have both, but i need to get somewhere 60 mile away everyweekend. and in this it would take 2 hours in good trafic. on a motorbike i could do it in an hour and skip all trafic jams. ps: piaggio apes are cool too :)
Bardic classic, hilarious!
Hi Richard, good for you :-) My 50cc has achieved 43mph downhill following my husband's Goldwing..... The 340's are faster. If you're getting a 50, do NOT take the stabilizers off and don't corner faster than 12mph - believe me!! Where are you getting yours from? Have loads of fun, Jaquelyn
Well I can assure you you'll have fun. They're great, cheeky and altogether lovable. Word of advice? Don't be too hard on yourself if they don't all make it, some of ours haven't, but to hve even one day in the sunshine is a blessing to a little hen. (Must learn to take my own medicine!) Best of luck, let me know if I can help any. Jaquelyn x
Yep, you've got the words of the Podgy Mantra correct - now just keep repeating I-want-one till you can't live without one any longer!
lov it i want one
LMAO!!! Nice one dude! Now I dare you to play it at camp...........XD
I'm so pleased to see your reply Damh, I thought perhaps you weren't speaking to me any more :-S Gentle Blessings Jaquelyn xx
Good memories :)
Well done - and enjoy the garden whilst you still have one!! It's a joy to watch.
Hello usually one each a day :-) But then they seem to have a day a week off! They won't lay well this time of year (about one a week) unless they're forced to do so using artificial daylight which I don't think is fair. so be patient, in spring you'll have an omelette a day. They are so worth the effort and so funny too. Well done for deciding to have some rescues. They may well be a tad bald when they arrive, but they soon get their coats on! Best Regards Jaquelyn x
do they lay any eggs i am rescuing 3 tomorrow 26 jan
Good to see - we got some ex-batts from BHWT too , we've had them over a year and the change in the first few weeks was amazing. They've now spent the majority of their lives free ranging and love it when I dig the veg patch. It's a free-for-all worm fest as far as they're concerned! Glad to see they're finally enjoying life as they were meant to!!!!
oh they make me want chickens. what a lovely little group of ladies. That must be so rewarding. God bless!
