I really loved this interview. Actually made me tear up a bit hearing Stephen talk about his experiences in discovering minimalist music like Steve Reich and Philip Glass. Reich had a particularly profound impact on me as well - starting with Electric Counterpoint. That along with some of his other pieces (New York Counterpoint, Eight Lines, Music for 18 Musicians, etc.) really expanded my understanding of what music could be. Mr. Wilkinson's music has similarly given me new appreciation over the years for all the different textures and timbres that can evoke so many different emotions. For example, Dye the Water Green is such a beautiful and touching piece of music to me, I often listen to it when feeling very depressed. The sound itself feels like empathy coming from someone I've never met and will only ever know through music. Contrast that with a song like Town and Country, which upon hearing the first time immediately put tears of joy in my eyes. I'm so glad that Bibio exists and has given us so much music to enjoy in so many different states of mind. Thank you very much for this interview, I loved each and every moment of it.
