    I have a different take on this. Vertical/portrait videos NEVER look ok on a computer monitor or TV screen. It wastes 3/4 of the screen space and feels like you are looking through a slit. On the other hand, horizontal/landscape fits every device. The video will fill the screen of the desktop monitor, the TV screen and the cell phone oriented horizontally. With the added benefit you can show a wider view and less ceiling/sky and ground. Most people that shoot vertical waste half of the screen with superfluous sky or floor.

    A better way of capturing landscape video without rotating the phone, or combining both landscape and portrait videos in one video clip is by using US Patent 11,297,260.

    Great tip about not switching from portrait to landscape mid-roll. I've got one other thought about shooting video. I've been shooting film/video for over 40 years. Humans have traditionally seen moving pictures in landscape mode, and for good reason. We have eyes on the side of our face, not on our forehead and chin. The recent trend for portait mode in video is a silly attempt by big tech to tell us how we should see the world. We see the world in landscape. Shoot video in landscape! Save portrait mode for, well, still portraits. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that. Best to you.

      Good point! Agree, landscape is definitely more of an experience for viewers. Although, understand that platforms want you to move with them these days in order for your feeds to be seen as 'popular'. So to do portrait videos *can* be good for just really quick videos, or at least a short version that you've repurposed from a longer landscape video. It will be interesting to see where the video world heads! (Especially for me coming from photographer POV). Thanks for your comment, always great to hear views from people in the industry! - Teesha

    I'm a big fan of real-time chat as opposed to sending emails back and forth.. it accelerates time to completion of collaborative work and helps to build community as you say! I totally agree about reducing internal emails!

    If someone wants something ordered (eg. gold bullion!), how do you usually handle the payment side? Ask the client to contact the seller to pay directly, send an invoice yourself?

    • @strictlysavvy9089
      @strictlysavvy9089 3 роки тому

      Hi Lyndal. Thanks for your question. Most clients provide their credit card details to us that we store securely in Lastpass and use as requested. For more expensive items that can be invoiced we then set up a payment in our client's online banking for them to approve. And for other items or if we don't have the credit card details, we sometimes pay for the item ourselves and then oncharge to our client. Plenty of options and workarounds available.

    When I started in business, the VERY FIRST thing I learned was that an assistant was three times faster at doing my admin, than I was! So it made logical sense to hire someone to do all my admin, which meant I had more time on my hands, and my admin was being done efficiently.. It gave me back many hours in my week.

      Wonderful advice! How awesome is it that you learned that so early on in your business journey. Get people doing what they are great at, so you can do what you are best out - makes perfect sense :)

    That's great advice Joy and Jo! I'm going to scrap my outlook folder tree - and move them to archive, and just rely on the search function! Having said that, the search in outlook is woeful, BUT if I can't find the email, then the Outlook Web Access, or the G-Mail Web Client, are both very powerful with their search features.

    • @strictlysavvy9089
