Yes, he shouldn't have been like that to rachel but you hsve to consider her actions too. Going over to Ross' wedding to say she still loved him and everytime he got a gf she would suddenly decide her feelings again. it was a toxic relationship but it was not just caused by ross.

I never liked how clingy ross was towards rachel, she was only after starting in an actual job she likes and he turns up with a picnic lunch even tho she tells him on the phone she was busy and would be home late again, he turns up unannounced and causes a scene, he just never listens, it's no wonder rachel wanted a break from him, Jesus who wouldn't
I know and the fact that he didn’t acknowledge that sleeping with another woman ONE day after the whole break situation was wrong was an ultimate no for me. Like I know they were on a break but basically it just means time apart from each other and not jumping into bed with the next person he sees. This meant that he did not respect their relationship and did not respect her too. Honestly I was hoping she would end up with Gavin since they had so much chemistry but so little time.
Omg… Ross showing up at Rachel’s workplace when she’s busy is the worst. “This is the most I’ve seen you all week”. Ugh! No respect for boundaries. If my wife did that, that’s divorce level annoying. 😑
