slow days in okinawa japan, resetting for the new year | travel vlog
in this japan travel vlog, i headed to one of the blue zones in the world in an attempt to reset for the new year. okinawa has long been known for their slower pace of life, contributing in no small part to their happiness and longevity.
unlike previous trips, i only planned where i wanted to stay. i decided to take things as they came for everything else, without rush and without the need to cover a lot of ground. instead, i wanted to take the time to appreciate the simpler things - a beautiful sunset, local cuisine made with island produce, and quiet moments of contemplation.
this trip brought me a sense of calm and contentment that i found harder to find in fast-paced singapore. the okinawan way of living has taught me much about slowing down, and leading a happier and healthier life which hopefully will last me through the whole of 2025.
happy new year everyone, and i hope you enjoy this video!

Переглядів 14 тис.15 днів тому
welcome to the first episode of weekend diaries - an attempt to document more of my day to day living in singapore. i’ve never been one to share much about my homebody life, but this year i decided to be more intentional with building up a visual archive of different aspects of my weekends, from the mundane bits of dishwashing to hopefully something that might interest you. in this video, i wil...

took a short getaway to hong kong over 3 days. visited m museum for the second time and found myself to still love it as much, if not more. i was lucky to be just in time for the free exhibition by danh vo, which featured a wide range akari lamps. met up with friends during this trip and explored sham shui po and tai hang together. these neighbourhoods are comparatively quieter and more quaint ...

was looking through a bunch of raw footages and thought to share some of the coffee shops that i went during my previous trips to hong kong. here are 8 coffee shops (apart from your usual suspects like halfway coffee, elephant grounds, etc.) that i will definitely return to in my upcoming trip to this highly caffeinated city. enjoy! 📷 shot on fujifilm x100vi ig: lohver #coffee #ho...

Did you come from a rich family btw?
Gorgeous flat ! I'm from France. Does anyone have the reference for the clear glass into which the coffee is poured? It's prettier than Picardie from Duralex. Thanks for your answers
Thank you! I bought the clear glass from Kimura, Tokyo-based maker specialising in very thin and lightweight glasses. Feel free to check out their website kimuraglass.com :)
lol “behind the scene” was just to show off the watch

I love the style of your home interior, it's literally so me 🤭. Also 'Before the coffee gets cold' is a great book.
Thanks! 🫶🏻 It’s a really great book, and I’m not doing it justice by taking so long to finish reading haha
Enjoyed watching your vlog! New subscriber here. :) Your home aesthetic is def on point. Totally my vibe. Please continue on creating aesthetic videos. Looking forward to it.
@@CessYou I’m very glad you like the video! See you in the next one, and thanks for being here 🙏🏻
@lohver Slided into your IG DM. Hahaha. I guess it's more crowded in that area. So, YT interactions then. Thanks for your response. Appreciate it! ✨️
Great video! Beyond the nice and dreamy home, I appreciate the editing. :) Music when it's morning and the silence at night time. :) The small personal touches of things you share about yourself makes it relatable. I like the doodles as well. The challenge in opening the bottle was fun. I love homebody videos in general but sometimes other than cooking and eating and cleaning, some videos don't have anything to do at all and then it becomes boring so the part where you guys were opening the bottle was a breath of fresh air. :) Anyway, made a lengthy comment so that you'll make more videos. :)
Thank you so much for the encouragement! While I’m very new to this, I realise that the UA-cam community is very kind and supportive, especially viewers like yourself :) I’ll be sure to post more. Thanks for being here! 😊
