    What trade would you bet on in todays time if you were 20 something years old again Asking because I’m in this exact predicament I don’t think a degree 📜 is worth the debt 💸

      @@BIKELIFEAP I’d try a bunch of different things to see what makes you happy and the figure a way to earn a living doing it! Now is the perfect time before you saddle yourself with too many big bills. Don’t go for the shiny object or the fast buck, create the thing that makes you happy and the rest will follow. Trades are certainly in demand, but then so are accountants to help all these new entrepreneurs. So many options in so many fields. I remember the story about the most successful guy during the 1849 gold rush! He owned a hardware store and sold prospecting equipment. He didn’t have to dig for gold. He just sold prospecting gear, bought it back from guys that gave up and resold it to the next prospectors. 😀

    Enjoying your videos. I wish that I would have had a job that I enjoyed. I worked shift work in a mill for almost 39 years but it’s all behind me now. Retired at 59 a year and a half ago and now I focus on my health, my home, and my hobbies. My job was close to home and I’m glad to have been able to work at one place for that long. It wasn’t an awful place to work but still pretty rough at times. It’s amazing what we can tolerate when you have bills and you’re trying to make to retirement.

    I needed this video today. I rode early this morning and I feel like I’m losing my mojo. I think about selling my bike and have thought about it for several years actually but I just can’t do it. I use to love traveling on my bike but I’ve lost that desire too. I have several other hobbies and never get bored and I’ve been retired for a year and a half. I listen to Adventure Rider Radio podcast and follow other stuff online to stay interested but I still have a hard time.

      @@robertlewis3116 Glad it helped! I was in a riding funk a few years back and then bought my Africa Twin 2 + years ago and it instantly reignited my passion! I’ve always had a gold wing and has a few sportier bikes, but this one has pulled me back into riding big time. I also made a pact to myself to go for a ride nearly every day, even if for only 15 minutes. Tons of different aspects of riding that you may try that could get your mojo back. Glad you’re here!

      @MindsetMotoGuy Maybe I need to try riding more. I recently read a comment from another video where the guy would get in a funk and go buy a new bike and that would work for him. I bet that Africa Twin is a great bike. I just looked at a TransAlp at the local Honda Dealer yesterday. Love that bike but I’m too short. I ride my 20 year old f650gs that I bought new. I’ll keep trying to stay interested and keep following your channel. Thanks

      @@snatr Honestly, there have always been tons of people our age that didn’t make time for others and tons that did. We can find whatever examples we look for when it comes to this. My kids were brought up intentionally spending time with their elders and their friends and now as early adults they continue to make this a priority in their lives and have surrounded themselves with similar people. Heck, I need to be better at this myself 🤣 Thanks for stirring up my next video idea!! 💕

A small used beater for a season after taking a class will help you enjoy this new chapter way more and for a long time! Welcome back!!

    I sat in my desk chair by the computer for 20 years with 2 damaged hips. The left had shattered and impacted into the socket. Replaced 3/16. The right one imploded on itself and replaced Last June. So, I've put over 6 miles on my bike since I am now able to ride it safely! But 95-97F is too hot to ride while wearing all the gear.

  • @unionrdr
    @unionrdr 3 місяці тому

    We all have our trials and tribulations. I had to get both hips replaced to get my balance back to ride the V Star 250 I bought in august '22. And all the rehab to get here. But I am a bit more at peace with it now that I can ride again! And walk pretty decent without a cane or walker anymore! I'm 68 now, and living proof that if you want it, really want it...then get out there and just do it!

    I have an additional idea for you as to why motorcycling is so beneficial which I learned many years ago while backpacking. When you go backpacking deep into wild and spectacular areas, you are many days walk from anywhere. The terrain is difficult at best with sometimes thousands of feet of elevation change per mile. It might be in a torrential downpour. These areas will frequently have animals that are above you in the food chain. Everything is difficult and you have a 50 pound pack on your back filled with the difference between you surviving and not. Your vision into the future and the past is non-existent. You can only focus at the 1mph walk, getting up or down the next mountain. All of this together makes it impossible to worry or even think about anything else that is happening in that far away place that existed before you got on the trail. Motorcycling is a little bit like this. If you are doing it right, it takes your focus off all those things way back in that far away place before you got on the bike. If you take your mind to anywhere else, the odds of the wild animals on the road taking you out are high.
