Trail Ride for the Vintage Beta Synt Trial Bike Clutch Slips, Overheating Maximum Fun Part9 P1E9
The "Finish your projects" series is my attempt to work through & finish some of my stacked-up projects. I'm hoping that publishing the video updates will keep me honest & on the path to completed projects regardless of tough jobs that I don't feel like digging into, finding or making missing & broken parts and learning new skills.
The Beta Synt was purchased about 5 years ago non--running & with a serious engine corrosion problem. It still has issues but now it's together, running & riding.

This is a process. I'm having to solve a lot of problems & some of the work will less exciting than runaway engines, smoke filled garages & celebratory burnouts. I have more projects than I could finish in 3 years if I worked on them full time. My goal with the "Finish Your Projects" series is to work on one project until it is finished even if it needs parts, outside work or is more effort tha...

I replaced the trigger valve on my Harbor Freight, Hitachi style, Pierce framing nailer, you can too

My Harbor Freight, Pierce-branded pneumatic framing nailer sprung a leak in the trigger valve. I couldn't find any instructions or videos on how to replace it so I decided to make one with no experience or expertise. If this video helps you diagnose or repair your own nail gun please leave a comment & give the video a thumb.

Great video thanks! ...I didn't remove both drift pins. Just the trigger pin and not all the way out just enough to remove trigger. Easily found new valve with quick google search. "Aeropro Asy Trigger B Assembly" as noted previously same valve as for Hitachi NR83A. Easy fix!

Your video was very helpful I was able to have the old out and new part in, in about 20 minutes. Would have taken longer had I not watched this. Works great again. For reference the Hitachi NR83A is the same as the pierce. Amazon has multiple parts for this particular framing nailer. They sell the plunger and trigger vale in one kit.

For those that are in the middle of a project and all you need is the BB. A 6mm Airsoft BB will work in its place while you wait for a trigger kit. If you happen to have one lying around.

I just purchased the same nailer brand new in the box for $80. I think it was at that price due to a model change. I plan on buying the same part ust in case I have the same issue. I'm gonna save your video. Thanks

do I need to mess with the bolts or loosen up the outer clutch cover before losening the inner cover? I’m doing the same thing on mine and didn’t realize I need a few more miliemeters of clearance to get that seal back in properly? Thank you for any response.

Some of the bolts on the clutch cover go through the side cover so they have to come out. The clutch cover does not need to come off to get the side cover off but I think it is just 4 more bolts so it can't hurt. There is a spring on the water pump shaft that will push up against the side cover, even after it is properly aligned. I hope that answers your question or helps you get it together.

16083 was what I ordered, but the call to the Harbor Freight number was unexpectedly personal & helpful. They can probably find it based on your model number or even description.

Also, hold the trigger down and push on the “foot” to shoot a nail, don’t press it down and then pull the trigger, makes it much easier, just bounce it!

It's almost like the plastic BB and maybe the plastic valve should be made out of something much stronger but, I guess it wouldn't be a Harbor Freight budget version. Good video though.

Thank you, the replacement part looks like it is made of a different material. I think that there is a good chance that Harbor Freight sold me a Hitachi replacement part.

@Fire&Rod Most likely. The Hitachi/Metabo and Pierce look like they definitely come out of the same factory. Wouldn't surprise me
