Great tutorial, both consise and informative. The tip about compact encoding is a lifesaver! I've been muddling my way around FontForge, but your video has helped me to identify some areas of improvement and certainly helped speed things up! Thank you. 👍
Thanks you, by the way, how do you add a removed font in case if you need it later? How can I copy from the original file a certain glyph and then paste it to the optimized one? Would appreciate your help here :)
When you're done editing use File->Save As to save the project file (.sfd). Open up the original font file (.otf/.ttf) later and right-click copy/paste the glyph to your project. Then generate the .woff file again. I think that should work. I'll probably need to do this later once I finish learning Spanish. I'm glad you found the video useful! :)
I just tried copying characters over and it didn't work very well. It was easier to just open the original font and delete characters I didn't need again. I don't plan on supporting any more languages than English and Spanish.
