Krita isn't a photo tool, but for me in digital art painting is way better than photoshop because of its pencil engine.

That was a really good lesson on shapes!! To me it was very good. I think you should do one more like this, as your vision is so fertile artistically! I did not see 'the foot' in the drawing or even the head with hair in the rocks!! I only saw the one creature. This side of you was inspirational. But watching you pencil, ink, color, add highlights & textures to make a montage was like a time capsule of the Digital Drawing class I took with you at SPC!! It keeps me thinking creatively; your video refreshes what you already taught me. I hope you get some PT to aide in your mobility. Be well!! 😅

This is a good lesson on drawing environments.

Krita really is more for drawing and not really an alternative to photoshop. As a drawing program it is awesome but doing photobashing or things of that nature? Nope.

Great tutorial. I believe the lines are called "Blur-Lines", I hope that helps.

I left Photoshop for Krita completely last year (and for some time before that I was using Photoshop for work and Krita for personal projects). I love Krita! It's so good ) I'm also using Photoshop-compatible shortcuts. It took me some time to get used to how layers and text tool work. But It's not hard to learn these differences. Also, Krita brush engine is 100 times better than photoshop ) I make my own brushes and even whole brush packs and it's so fun to experiment!

This is one of my favorite lessons of all time! I sure wish there was Digital Drawing 2!!. I would surely take that! I was mezmerized with how well I grasped this. I also liked how you ended the video with the speeded up inking and the final with the coloring. That monster of yours is just the final touch of coolness. I was in a commercial photography program back in 1989-1991 and I was processing color film and doing my own cymk color printing. I photographed a little Mexican fast food drive-through restaurant on a corner street, which I photographed on a beautiful day with a bright blue sky, which really set off the yellow and orange fast food restaurant. It was not a chain, but a fast food Mexican restaurant unique to San Diego. The way the lighting in San Diego looks is special as well, as the colors are like no other colors I have never seen anywhere else due to the lighting. I am going to search for taht print and use it as a reference image, to draw that fast food joint. Also, I really liked how you copied -cut the left side of the Taco Bell, and added it back in to make the left window larger. That was very enlightening and helpful.

Very cool. Knowing how to make adjustments to under drawings with transform tools and such might even be more of a super power than knowing control Z. 😃 (Also, I need to update my photo for this account. My beard is solid gray now. 😥 )

I really would like to see you create an entire 3-D environment in another video. I was mesmerized by the quick ability to create a tiled floor, which is an element I want to get better at in my digital paintings
