What might hinder people from following the Lord is thinking it is wrong for God to demand obedience. The fact that man doesn’t do what God wants 100% of the time, means we will learn much about our Father’s love and compassion. Yet, we will learn that our God does demand perfection even though we won’t be perfect.

Why not go one step further back? Where did baptism even come from? All of the sudden a guy named John, a cousin of Jesus (Not his real name)(who supposedly survived Herod's command for all the little kids to be murdered even though he was just 6 months older without "flight into Egypt") comes out spouting about dunking for your sins. Where does that come from? And if that would do it, why did Jesus even go the cross? And please don't trot out that whole Red Sea argument because the only people who got wet then were the face-down-in-the-water Egyptian pagans, or else show that people who get immersed in water come out perfectly dry. And by the way: that whole "born again" thing was said to ONE old Jewish guy in the middle of the night. Your "Jesus" never said that to anyone else. Why glom onto that and not what he also only told ONE Jewish guy: Go and sell all that you have, give to the poor, and come follow me? THAT's more of a requirement for discipleship than getting dunked, to hear him himself say it--but I don't know of one Facebook marketplace or Craig's List for Christians liquidating their worldly possessions. (and in all reality, if you sell all that you have, wouldn't that make YOU one of the world's poor?)
We MUST be born again. You are born again when you are like Jesus. Then you are sinless 1 John 2: 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. We must be born again! Then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit without using water. The Holy Spirit do not let you sin anymore!!! To become born again you have to repent and ask Jesus forgiveness for your sins or ask Jesus in your heart! A really born again Christian has no future sins!! He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 and Titus 2:14
