@@HastyHeatLLC usually when a truck is referred to as a 1/2 or 3/4 ton, it is in reference to the payload capacity of the bed. As the capacity is higher, the frame is usually implied to be more robust. With that in mind, I now highly doubt it’s a 1/2 ton truck. I think you mean curb weight.

we have not done a cost analasys, but one could get paid to cleanup pondscum and feed lot induced toxic algae blooms, if your sun dry the cost of running a 1 ton per hour $1000 electrick wood pellet mill is less than 1$ per ton in electricity to smash your feedstock into a uniform fuel pellet. Depends, for the longest burning fire use compressed sawdust logs. A long smoldering burn is not as important as an intense efficient burn, remember everything inside the insulate envelope and walls of your home is thermal mass in which you can store many kWh of heat more effectively than a cold smoldering fire.

The tube type with the fan still works the same as a fanless in a power outage since they have the same natural convection, but when there is power the fan produces magnitudes more heat. Get the version with a fan.

plenty of heat radiates off the hexagon, if you needed to bottle the heat to blow down some duct work a different style heat exchanger can be made to attach to the wood pellet stove cartridge. this hexagon was designed for mounting lots of water cooled TEG thermal electric generators to make electricity and hot water. the TEG boiler can be seen in other videos.

The main service has been a cleaning of the Fuel drop tube twice per ton, and replacing the stainless grates every 3-4 ton. Depending on your fuel source, vitrified ash clumps can form. Shaking the grates 2 or more times per day can help breakup and move them down into the ash pit. When it runs out of fuel, it can fart. So if you start to smell BBQ it is time to pour in another bag.

Yes! as the heat exchanger pulls the heat out of the fire it will also help keep the entire hearth cooler! So they aid the "zero clearance" in keeping the heat from harming the hearth.

that is a very good question to post, however at this time i did not have the temperature flow meter installed inline and cannot answer. we will soon have some new content on this topic to upload with much better full instrumentation, keep subscribed and keep your eye out for what new is coming out of the labs of Hasty Heat

in years of operation we have never had a burnback up the tube. as the pellets burn they shrink, when they shrink they fall down into the fire, there are many gravity fed wood pellet stoves using this physics successfully. This burns efficiently and combusts all the smoke into BTU heat within the square CHP pellet burner, combustion is complete prior to exhausting. the exhaust effluent fills the barrel and exits low forming a upside down thermal stratification bell heat exchanger. we do have some good FLIR thermal images and video of the heat exchange in operation. overall exhaust temps after the barrel going up the chimney can be below boiling for extra high efficency .

this can only be done with a non electric gravity fed stove as the 100c temps and humidity of a sauna spell death to any electric powered pellet stove. and even the gravity fed you must provision to have the pellets sealed and warm so they do not suffer from condensation, drawing some of the combustion air from the top of the pellet hopper to keep them dry helps greatly

Incorrect, check the fire and building code. It has more to do with the condensate running down than the gasses going up.

On wood burners, doing as you say would let creosote run out all over the outside of the Flue, sticky, fumie and could possibly ignite. It's an easy mistake to think it should go this wrong way though if you were trying to use logic without all the correct information. Hope this helps Gary, have a great new year 🎈

@@HastyHeatLLC Yes Hasty Heat, I've watched many youtube videos of tent stoves with stove collars designed to go inside the flue, then all consecutive pipes fitting together wrongly. The creosote on the outside of the flue on some are horrendous. It's the moisture ( condensation ) that aids in this process. It's strange when one sees manufacturers doing it wrong, leading the consumer to think it's right.

@@pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN true condensation can be a real issue, that is why there is a firecode about this anyone not in the know should research and heed. however we do not provide the chimnys so hopefully the individuals installation is done correctly.
