I have survived! :-) Love the disco! Thank you Tara and NWABA!
We love Disco too! You are so welcome.
Thank you Tara! So much fun!
Woohoo! We are so glad you like it.
This is awesome. Thank you!
You're very welcome! We are glad you like it.
This is exactly what I have been looking for. Being blind and getting into powerlifting instructional videos can be a challenge, especially when it comes to technique.
We are so glad you find these videos useful!
@@nwaba1 do you have any plans to do videos for dumbbell exercises? Things like skull crushers, chest flies, triceps, extensions, etc.?
"Audio Narrated Dance Aerobics Live" is such a wonderful initiative! What a great way to combine movement and inclusion!
Thank you!
Thank you for this!!
You're welcome, we are glad you enjoyed it!
good job!!
I’m used to dance Zumba workouts that you guys have on here. This cardio kicked my butt, but it was good for me. I totally loved it even though it kicked my butt.
We are so glad you liked it! Cardio workouts definitely make us break a sweat!
I don’t sweat. I glisten.
Thank you so much.
I miss dance so much. I’m so glad you have these. Now I get to dance again. My mom showed me these videos. She showed me this one and I took off from there. Hungry Like The Wolf always scared me because of a scary movie but now I just think of this dance. I love your energy and these videos. Thank you for giving me my life back.
We are so glad you are enjoying the videos! We would love to connect with you and hear more about your story. Feel free to reach out to us at virtualprograms@nwaba.org. We also offer these classes live on zoom and would love to have you join if you are interested!
Thank you. I would love to.
I love these. I used to take dance privates but they got too expensive. Thank you for bringing dance and exercise back into my life. My mom found these and I was hooked. You gave me my life back. You are a fun instructor and way descriptive. Thank you for everything you do. Skater jump is the best and in multiple videos.

Great description. I am now subscribed to the channel.
Thank you, welcome to our workout community!
This was my fourth workout and the best playlist yet. The only thing that might be better would be the 80s.
We do have some videos with 80s theme playlists too! Check out this one: ua-cam.com/video/4pIt0yKLSuY/v-deo.html. Maybe we have to do another 80s theme soon!
i can hardly hear her over the music
Apologies for that, feel free to check out some other similar videos with better sound on our channel by searching "Audio Described Seated Dance Aerobics"
This is a variation of a Russian twist. For reference purposes, cherry pickers are a standing exercise.
You are right, there are a lot of different exercises that are called cherry pickers. This exercise is also referred to as a Russian Twist. What version did you grow up doing?
Thanks for your wonderfully specific descriptions of the movements!
We are so glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, can you share how the blind actually play table tennis and is there any events or competition ?
Like any sport or activity, ping pong can be made fully accessible with audible equipment, an accessible environment, and increased communication. Each individual might use different adaptations to play ping pong depending on their individual needs. a. Equipment: Blind athletes might choose to use a bell ping pong ball or bell tennis ball instead of a standard ping pong ball for audibility. Low vision athletes might find a larger, slower moving, high contrast ball like a tennis ball sized foam ball helpful. b. Environment: You can add tactile lines on the table tennis table to make it accessible. You can also add bells to the net to add audibility if you prefer. Some athletes also put a small sound source at the center of the table under the net to help with orientation. The sound source will provide a constant noise to help athlete locate the net and stay oriented toward the center of the table. Some low vision athletes find it helpful to add wider white tape to the table lines and yellow tape to the net to add contrast. c. Gameplay: Some athletes use a commentator on the sideline, who describes what is happening in the game in order to determine which move might be best to make. This increased communication can be helpful. It is always helpful to remember that, like any sport, it can take time for everyone to develop skills and find what works best for you. While there are no official blind ping pong leagues or competitions, many athletes play for fun in school, with peers, in the community, etc. like anyone else. Some athlete choose to play in local ping pong leagues and request accommodations as needed. Showdown, an official blind sport, is a mix of table tennis and air hockey, with rules and gameplay that are a mix of both. This sport is found in many communities around the US and world as a sport specifically designed for blind athletes.
Can I ask where can I get the equipment for the blind ping pong like shown in the video? Please guide.
All equipment mentioned in our videos can be borrowed from our Adapted Equipment Lending Library at no cost. If you are interested in playing ping pong, we would suggest borrowing both the bell ping pongs and bell tennis balls. This would give you some options when determining which might work best. You can view a full inventory of our equipment at nwaba.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/SAL_Lending_Equipment_Catalog_2024_2_14.pdf and complete the lending form by going to forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=ZaHxxeJZG0u0zTlmPyob9L0JFu3mEc9AgZLpaLWMsNRUREhIQjI4RU1INkpRNlJWMlZQQTRGRzRFTy4u.

Hi! I love all of your videos, they help me stay in shape as a blind person :3. I'll soon have my prom night at a regular school (not specifically for the blind) and was wondering, whether you could upload some dance tutorials, e. g. for a slow waltz, rumba or cha cha cha? I'd love to learn the basic steps and maybe even some additions to impress everyone at prom :D. Or can you recommend me any online resource where I can find these kinds of tutorials? Thanks!
We are so glad you are enjoying our videos! While we do not currently have videos for the dance moves that you requested, we do have a dance playlist that teaches the moves to structured dance such as the cha cha slide and the cupid shuffle. We also have a dance aerobics playlist of videos that include dance moves mixed with aerobic exercise!
oh thanks, I will try that playlist out! Do you have any other idea where I could find tutorials for the complete dance?
Fun, Impact, Dynamic - and become National - yes!
Thank you for sharing I like the way you describe the movements.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you are enjoying our videos!
Do you have the resource for where you purchase the figurine or how to make the tactile diagram?
Here is the link to the Object Control: Kicking tactile diagram: nwaba.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sal_kicking_object_control_tactile_diagram_2020_05_04_final.pdf The figurines can be purchased online or at any art supply store. They are called artist’s figurines and are available in a variety of sizes.
Is there a place to order tactile/braille powerlifting diagrams? These would be amazingly helpful with one of my clients!
Tactile and braille diagrams will be available for all Powerlifting videos in April 2023 on our website. Please reach out to kfrench@nwaba.org with more questions or if you need assistance finding them and we are happy to help you out or send these directly to you!
I am a visually challenged person from India. Am very happy that your spreading yog Shastra.

Hello Mark, thank you for sharing your feedback! We are so glad you are enjoying our videos.
This is great! I’ve always wanted to learn to do Zumba 😊
We are so glad you like it. Check out our dance aerobics videos for more like this!
this was helpful. Great video!❤
Glad it was helpful!
Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for making all those videos. The workouts are really amazing, because I'm completely blind and no other channel explained the steps that well. Also I love this new series where you present different types of sports that I didn't know I could be capable of. Do you think I could also participate in a volleyball game of other sighted people? Are there any methods for that?
Thanks for reaching out, glad these have been helpful! To play volleyball with sighted peers, these are a few adaptations that can make the game more accessible: • Communication is absolutely key! Make sure you and your teammates talk before about how you all are going to communicate during the game. It can be helpful to have one person who is on the sidelines acting as a guide to commentate the game and provide directions on who should go for the ball, etc. to help minimize confusion. This person is going to be very helpful for everyone on the team as well. • You can have teammates wear a bell or other noisemaker, especially one that only makes noise when they move to help know where your teammates are. For volleyball, it can be helpful to have these on teammates ankles so they don’t interfere with gameplay. o These are only helpful if everyone is engaging in good communication • You can mark the court lines with string under tape, similar to a goalball court, so it is tactile under your feet during gameplay. • You can add a bell or beeping sound source to the net to help you to stay oriented. • Using a bell volleyball or beeping foam ball will be helpful and which you use is just personal preference. Some people do find it helpful to start out with a larger ball since it will be a bit slower moving and a larger target and then moving to a more standard sized ball when they become more comfortable. Overall, with any sport it is important to remember that it will take time and practice to get comfortable and develop proficiency so we encourage you to keep practicing and be patient with yourself and others because you will be able to make this happen! Some adaptations will work for some people and other people will find others work better so often times it is a matter of trying out different ones and finding what works best for you! Let us know if you have other questions!
Thanks for the good workout 👍
You're so welcome!
Thank you for demonstrating🙏☺️
You're welcome!
First of all, thank you for demonstrating. I do not know anything about the IY te. Can you explain anymore? And how do we incorporate them into our daily stretches. My main question is as a visually impaired person… What is the difference between the Y and the T? They look the same to me. I am excited to learn more and I appreciate your time and expertise.🙏
Hello Renee, thank you for your questions! To complete the IYT, you will stand in a comfortable position with your arms hanging down and palms of your hands rested on your thighs. This is the starting position for each of the exercises. For the ‘I’ position, you will lift your arms up to shoulder height. Your arms should be pointing directly in front of you. You can then return to starting position. For the ‘Y’ position, you will move your arms from starting position up to shoulder height, this time extending your arms out to diagonals. For the ‘Y’ position, your left hand will be further out 6-8 inches to the left, and your right hand will be further out to the right about 6-8 inches than it was for the ‘I’ position. You can then return to your starting position. The next position is the ‘T’. For this position you will raise your arms out to your sides up to shoulder height. Your left arm should be pointed directly to your left, and your right arm should be pointed directly to your right. This exercise could be incorporated into your upper-body strength exercises by repeating the sequence of I-Y-T 10 times. Over time, you can add weights or hold soup cans to increase the resistance. You can also increase the number of times you repeat the sequence.
@@nwaba1 thank you for the expeditious reply and I understand now.
IDK why but it's sayin^g no stream when I click on the vid so it won't play. Does the fact that I live in Australia have something to do with that?
