I’m very sorry you went through this. I’ve had difficulties with finding harnesses for guide work and while the requirements are different then mobility I can relate to the struggle of trying to balance between both your and your dog needs, as well as budgeting end proper fit. You may have already thought of this but is there no other way you could teach him from mobility without that particular harness another type you could use or if he’s cleared by your vet to do mobility then maybe you could do light mobility with not to put as much pressure on him if the height difference is important. I just think if you have an aptidue for a task and you have a need for it and you work well together that one harness not being the right measurement for both of you doesn’t seem like it should have to mean that mobility altogether is off the table.

You haven’t done anything wrong. I understand where you’re at. I need to fundraise for a bed to help me reduce my pain because I have multiple sclerosis, and the bed which will help me stop hurting, improve my circulation, and help me get up and moving each day costs $5K…but I know as soon as I try to fundraise, I’ll get back lash just like you have done. It’s screwed up. People are just trying to exist, and when you have nasty, bitter people who bring you down like that it makes a difficult life just that little bit harder. Please ignore her ignorance. If you can fundraise, and get your service dog, you absolutely should do it, 100%. Don’t give up.
