The 5196 has by far the most elegant dial and case. Gold studs for the minute markers and the subtle absence of a track round the small seconds means it's easily mistaken for a 2-hander. Pity you can't see the movement, but nothing's perfect.

I got interested in the tank because Cary Grant wore one in my favorite Hitchcock movie, North by Northwest, from 1959. His suit too. That suit he wore in that movie was named "the greatest suit of the 20th century". The Cartier Tank is a fitting accessory to that suit. Great job on this definitive guide.
